General Appearance: Rayne is a normal sized girl. She’s 5’6” and weighs about 120lbs. She has a slim waist and well-muscled arms, that may not look like much, but can do some serious damage. Her face is slight rounded, but more heart-shaped and her lips are slim lines of pink. Rayne has extremely long legs that make up most of her height.

Her skin is golden tan, her hair was originally dark brown, but she dyed it to maroon and it comes down to just below her shoulders. Her eyes are dark green, but change to blue depending on the lighting. She has a stud piercing on her nose and usually wears hoop earrings. She has her belly buttoned pierced and a tribal tattoo of the sun on her lower back.

Rayne usually dresses in revealing clothing, unless she is attending an important occasion. She wears a lot of red tank tops that don’t cover her whole stomach. She wears skinny jeans, usually black or dark denim and thigh high boots. She rarely wears dresses, but she’ll wear a mini-skirt every once in a while. If she does wear a dress or skirt, fishnets are a given.

Personality: Rayne is the type of person who will socialize at parties, but doesn't really open up. She'll talk to people about simple things, but once it gets to the deep stuff, she shuts down. She likes making friends, but only a few people can get through her shell. She has serious trust problems and only talks to her parents or really close friends about her problems.

Once Rayne opens up to someone she’s fun and flirty. The only time she really flirts though is if she is attracted to someone. She has some spunk and will use it when she wants. She’s also extremely sarcastic and full of snide comments. She likes dancing and hanging out with friends, but she’s also impulsive. If someone rubs her the wrong way, she’ll either get in their face or just swing a fist. It takes a lot to get on her bad side though. Saying something about her past would set her off the most. Hurting her in some way, such as lying to her about something big or abandoning her. She won't cry, but she will fight.

Usually Rayne is very mature and responsible. She’s good at working with people as long as they don’t get on her bad side. She talks when spoken to and will make some small talk here and there when needed. The only people she'll really converse with are her friends or someone she wants to get to know. She rarely talks about her past and refuses to answer questions about her past when asked.

History

Not-so-happy Beginning:
On February 7, 1992 Caterina and Gabriel Montery received some shocking news. Caterina was pregnant. It had been a mistake. Caterina had skipped a day on her birth-control medication and that’s how it all started. Nine months later on October 4, 1992 at 11:56 p.m. Rayne Korsicova Montery had been born. She was a small baby, but she was still healthy. A few days later, she was taken to her home in a bad part of New York City. Her parents were pretty poor and her mother couldn’t keep a job.

The Slums:
Growing up in the slums of New York was difficult, but Rayne managed. It was her parents that couldn’t handle it. Her mother had turned to drinking once Rayne was born. It took the edge off of her stress. Gabriel had pushed himself into work, trying desperately to put food on the table for his wife and unexpected child. Rayne’s mother didn’t see Rayne as a mistake. She loved Rayne very much, and she tried to take care of her, but the stress made her drink more. Rayne’s father on the other hand, did see Rayne as a mistake. He blamed her and Caterina for his struggles. Rayne didn’t know any better.

The Ending:
One day after a late day at work, Gabriel came home to his drunken wife and his seven year old daughter. All he had expected was a warm meal to eat and then a warm bed to sleep in, but instead he got no meal and stress. Dealing with his wife while his daughter sat and watched T.V. was the last thing he wanted to be doing. He had hit his breaking point. The screaming had started suddenly and Rayne had jumped at his outburst. He had gone on for a while about how he couldn’t handle raising a seven year old and a twenty-eight year old at the same time. He couldn’t handle being a father while working so hard just to manage with a wife. Gabriel blamed it all on Caterina and told her if Rayne wasn’t gone within 48 hours, he was gone.

The next day, Caterina packed Rayne’s things, took her to a friend’s house and said her good-byes.

New Beginning:
The DiSalvo’s had been unable to have children. Monica had been a friend of Caterina’s in high school. They rarely spoke, but once Caterina told Monica of her situation, Monica couldn’t say no. They had been planning on moving from New York to a smaller town just north in Vermont called Pilot Ridge. It wasn’t a far drive and it would be a new start for all of them. They took Rayne in and raised her as their own. She grew up in Pilot Ridge, attending the school there and living with them. Rayne never spoke to her biological parents after the incident and quite frankly she didn’t want to. She had been just old enough to understand what had happened.

Present Day:
Rayne is now 18 years old, with a birthday coming up and she is working as a waitress in a small, yet popular restaurant. She’s planning on getting an apartment soon, but for now still lives with her parents Monica and Trey. She hasn’t talked to Caterina or Gabriel in nearly twelve years and still has no intentions of seeing them any time soon.

There are just a few matters that aren't quite clear to me. First, you state that Rayne doesn't like large groups of people and keeps to herself, but later you mention she likes to hang out with friends and go dancing. Does she consider dancing to be less social interaction than talking? Or is she simply willing to deal with crowds because she likes dancing that much?

Second, you state that she's good with working at people (which makes sense, given her job), but also she's sarcastic and snide and willing to punch people if they get on her bad side, so if you wouldn't mind explaining what it takes to get on her bad side. I assume it wouldn't just be the customer who doesn't leave a tip or the obnoxious coworker who talks on the phone when she has customer. She doesn't make much small talk, but is she a good listener? Or does she do her job with minimum attempts to engage customers? She likes to flirt, so does she flirt to make better tips? Or does she only flirt with people she's attracted to?
