A Night of Horror! (Fisher)

It was a rather silent evening, and not a lot of students were hanging around in the lounge, and finally, the TV was free. Lux had been going down here for a few nights, hoping it would be available for her to put on some good horror movies. She put down her collection of DVD's and looked through them, deciding which one she wanted to see.

With the remote in her hand she sat down on the couch. She had even made popcorn! The intro music of 'The Dawn of the Dead (2004)' played and she put the bowl of popcorn in her lap. Man, this was the good life. Being able to watch horror movies she loved - and feared on a big screen rather than hiding in her room with a small laptop screen, like she used to do at home and in her dorm room. She pulled a blanket over her feet and leaned back in the couch. Let the show begin!

Fisher could smell it from his room. Popcorn. The scent reminded him of all his movie marathons with his friends and dates at the theater. The aroma made him slightly homesick. But he still had to get himself some. It was perfect timing since he was bored out of his mind. it was only eight and he was considering going to sleep. Fisher put on his clothes since he didn't want to go down in what he call his "lounging" boxers. He ran through the halls as he followed the scent. Fisher didn't want the popcorn to be gone by the time he arrived.

When he entered the lounge, he grinned from ear to ear. Dawn of the Dead was one of his favorite movies. He watched from the doorway for a couple of minutes before making his way to the couch. He sat on the edge of it at first.

"Mind if I join you?" Fisher whispered not wanting to interrupt the movie. If he pissed the girl off, she would probably say no. He made himself comfortable on the couch and started chowing down on the popcorn. He avoided from eating it too noisily so he wouldn't get kicked out. The moment seemed perfect. Fisher was alone with a girl in a dark room on a couch. And there was popcorn.

Lux looked up at the boy and smiled as he sat down before she even got to answer. ''Looks like I don't have a choice.'', she laughed and put the popcorn in between them so he didn't have to eat from her lap. ''Eat up, there's more where this came from.'', she said and smiled. She didn't mind at all that someone, anyone wanted to watch this movie with her. She didn't exactly know many who liked it. She curled up in the couch, pulling the blanket around her. ''Are you a fan?'', she asked nodding towards the screen.

Whether it was the popcorn or the movie that had attracted him, she didn't really care. She was more than happy to share both.

Fisher could not stop smiling. The popcorn was delicious, the movie was awesome, and the girl was extremely friendly and slightly hospitable. Why hadn't he known this girl before. He watched the movie with attentive eyes. He loved the movie. Every time Fisher watched it, the movie got better. He plunged his hand into the bowl and pulled out an overflowing amount of popcorn. He fought his temptation to stuff it all in his mouth at once. Not only did Fisher want to savor it, but he didn't want to gross the girl out. After he finished chewing, he asked the girl her name.

"My name is Fisher. We should really do this more often. We could have Scary Movie Sunday or something."

Lux laughed at his eagerness. ''My name's Luxanna. Lux for short.'', she threw a piece of popcorn at him. ''You pig.'', she laughed and pointed at his shirt which was filled with bites of popcorn. ''And yes. We totally should!'', she said eagerly, giving Fisher a broad grin. ''I have a whole set of horror movies, and I never get tired of watching them. The thrill and the adrenaline kick you get during those jump scares... Man, it's amazing.'', she rambled on and turned back to look at the movie.

She loved horror movies, though, she didn't enjoy the older ones as much. Besides the old classical Alien movies of course. The old ones were usually poorly made with horrible acting.

Fisher found himself grinning once more. He started laughing when Lux threw the kernel at him. He retaliated by taking a few pieces, hiding behind the couch, and tossing them at her. He jumped back onto the couch and moved closer to Luxanna. Her hair smelled like strawberry ice cream. Fisher always wondered how girls got their hair to smell so good. When he was little, he would always use his sister's shampoo so his hair would smell nice. It never smelled the same as it did when it was on the clean hair of a girl.

Fisher was excited about the horror movie meets. "If we get enough people interested, we could make it into an official school club. But you know, it doesn't have to be." Fisher didn't find watching movies with big groups of people as enjoyable as with two or three. If they kept it the two of them, they had more control over what they watched and arguments wouldn't break out.

Fisher liked all of the horror movies. If he was looking fore more of a creepy movie that also made him laugh, he would usually watched the old horror movies. The poor quality always entertained him. If he was looking for a scream your lungs out and pee your pants thriller, he would sit down to a more modern film. As Lux talked to him about movies, Fisher gazed at her flirtatiously.

She chuckled as he jumped behind the couch, throwing popcorn back her. And then he sat back down, closer this time. She wasn't really sure if it was on purpose or not, but she figured it'd be best not to react. It wasn't that Fisher wasn't handsome and all, because he was. And he was probably a great guy too, but was no.. She stopped herself. ''Get a grip girl.'', she thought to herself.

''I have a feeling that wouldn't be so popular. Besides, imagine the amount of money we'd have to use on popcorn. And we wouldn't have to argue about what movie to watch.'', she said, though it did sound found, watching movies with a lot of people. It would've been a good way for them both to meet people. She wondered if she could certain someone to watch a movie with her.

She pretended to not notice the flirty look. She pressed her lips together, her gaze glued to the screen. She was starting to feel slightly embarrassed, since she wasn't used to this kind of attention. Though, she didn't know if she wanted it. When it came to these kinds of things, she didn't have much experience. She had never kissed a guy, never slow danced, or never really done much more than giving someone a hug. It had never really been that important to her.

Luxanna was probably right that the club wouldn't really take off. But Fsher didn't agree that the other members would argue about which movie to watch. With Fisher's experience, people, including himself, can get attached to their idea and never let it go. But he didn't want to ruin the evening so he dropped the topic. He started to pay more attention to the movie since it was the actual reason he was there. Fisher then discovered that one has to watch Dawn of the Dead exactly twenty one times before it get boring. He then distracted himself by eating more popcorn.

Fisher noticed that the girl didn't react to his attempted flirt. He didn't really mind. He just really liked Luxanna and wanted to show her. She was attractive and believed she would enjoy knowing that. Fisher really hates seeing girls that hate themselves because they think their ugly or fat. He could tell that she wasn't experienced in romance. Fisher was just one of the ones that grew up faster than the rest and was interested in girls and boys at a young age.

"So what else are you interested in?" Fisher asked as he faced himself towards her.

''What else am I interested in?'', she thought about it for a few seconds before replying. ''Well, I love animals. I'm also into books. Mostly fantasy though... Let's see, what else is there... Oh! I love storms. Thunder and rain, the whole package. And let me not forget my huge love for food. Greasy food, healthy food, nom.'', she said cheerfully and looked at the boy. ''What about yourself?''

She stood up to pop some more popcorn and stretched as she did. ''Do you have a favorite movie?'', she asked while making the popcorn. She herself had a huge love for horrors. Especially zombie movies. She didn't really know why, but she loved to be scared. Though, she secretly thought that it would be kinda cool if the world ended and was taken over by zombies. She'd fight with bone and claw to survive.

She sat back down with a filled bowl of popcorn. ''I sure hope you're hungry.'', she said with a grin on her face. She loved snacks during movies. Well, she loved snacks all the time, and luckily for her, she was one of those girls who didn't gain any weight.
