Why did she have to be here? What was the point of this school? It wasn't teaching her anything useful that she wouldn't learn at a normal school. She wasn't treated any differently. Even among freaks she was a freak, and weren't they always spouting about how they were all so accepting? Bull shit. Everyone at this school was just the same as they would be in regular ol' high school. There were your bitches, your jocks, your skanks, your goody goodies, and those people that thought they understood everyone. Some of them were different combinations of each, and over all Dextra would rather put up with the crap she got from the stupid normal people because at least she could scare them with her ability. Surrounded by these other freaks, she knew there were more dangerous abilities out there than hers.
Instead of putting up with her roommates in all their peppy obnoxiousness (seriously two blondes in one room?), she decided to go out running early in the morning. Even if there were other people out there at this time, she wasn't going to pay them any mind. She had her ipod clipped onto her tank top strap and she was already plugged in by the time she headed out of her dorm. She had been as quiet as possible when she got up and out. It was nice being able to dodge all of her roommates without anyone waking up. Even if they had, she'd have slipped out before they were able to try talking to her.
Dex got to the track and instead of hitting the pavement first, she headed over to the grass to stretch. Funny how everyone gave her shit for being such a gothic freak and yet she could probably out-run anyone of those track jocks. Weren't stereotypical goths supposed to hate physical activity? Bitches didn't know what they were talking about. She turned up the volume on her ipod as much as she could before she blew out her ear drum and began her stretching routine. It was important to be thoroughly stretched, especially with humidity and such being higher. It wasn't like out West where they had the dry heat in the Summer and all throughout their seasons. After she finished stretching she headed over to the track and took a deep breath before setting her pace at a steady jog. Warming up for the long distance she was used to. Honestly, it was like preparing for running away from her past.
