Year - Winter 1987
Joseph usually tried to stay out of the lounge area in the dorms. There were just too many objects to touch and learn about. He preferred his own small dorm room where he already knew everything about every piece of furniture, pencil, or clothing. But since his roommate was currently blasting Wham! hits at full volume he'd decided to take the chance that the lounge would be more quiet. If there hadn't have been about three feet of snow outside he could have escaped to there. So this would have to do.
The area wasn't too crowded. A few students trying to get some work done. A couple others hanging out by the couches. And one annoying looking kid in the corner making balled up paper zoom around the room.
He took a seat in the corner and started to read the book he'd brought along with him hoping he would just be left alone. But it wasn't long before someone decided to plop down next to him and ask what he was reading.
