boy bands and studying

Ashleigh was cleaning up her room, since she was young she had always kept it very clean. Much cleaner then Allyson ever kept hers. Ashleigh smirked at that thought, her parents would always get on Ally's case for keeping her room clean and praise Ash for her room. Ash knew that Ally hated that, but she would never clean her own room only try and convince Ash to do it for her. Ash had a full night of studying a head of her. She had a biology test tomorrow and she needed a good grade on it. Perhaps she would ask Ally for help. Ash took a look around her room one last time before gathering up her studying materials and heading to the living area. She never could study in her own room, she would either fall asleep or get distracted. She liked to pull up a seat to the coffee table and spread out all of her stuff.
She put her ear buds in and turned on her guilty pleasure: a playlist of only nineties boy bands. She labeled the music 'classical study music' hoping that it would discourage Ally or anyone else from looking in that play list. She was too young to remember when the bands had first become popular, but ever since she had found an old cd of N*Sync she had been hooked.
Ashleigh cracked open her bio book and smiled, they were studying genetics something that actually made sense to Ash, at least at this simple of a level. She needed to brush up on dominance or recessive traits and their alleles. she started by drawing the squares on her paper.
A dimpled chin is a recessive trait, therefore both sets of parent must pass on alleles that are recessive. So each parent must either be: D,r or r,r. The mother does not have a dimpled chin, but the father does. Both children also have a dimpled chin. The mother must then be D, r and the father r,r.
Ashleigh let out a sigh of relief when she checked her answer, she got it right. Tomorrows test wouldn't be that bad after all, she may even get 6 hours of sleep tonight, a real treat for before a test. Ashleigh continued studying and humming and singing along along to her boy bands.
