Another tiring day of training with an imbecilic and egoistic shapeshifter this time. Honor lost her temper a little and reduced him to a pile of snot and tears before leaving him rocking back and forth in the corner of the room crying out for his mother.

She was now certain more than ever that she was most definitely the go to trainer for problematic students. Which she wouldn't quite mind, if they stopped sticking their big noses into her methods and nitpicking every single thing she did.

Not that she listened of course. But still, if only she could just make the authority quit being little bitches and let her run the whole training system. If it didn't cause her head to split into two and land her in the hospital for a week, that would have been a dream come true.

For now, she will just settle on the fact that she could shut them up for an hour.

But clearly, she can't even scare the students into having manners when one particularly rowdy teen knocked her glasses and walking stick off her person and ran helter skelter away, yelling obscenities. It was too bad she couldn't grab them on time.

Instead, there she was on her knees slowly reaching her hand out to find where her items had been thrown. She hadn't heard them clatter to the floor so now she was completely blind. How ironic.

She almost decided to just continue walking without her aids but that would mean rubbing the walls and who the hell would want to touch the walls here? It was disgusting.

Being blind and a bitch sometimes sucked.

Paperwork was something no one told prospective trainers they were going to do. In fact, much like any other administrative or teaching position, paperwork was so key to the job that is not only could not be avoided but must be completed in a timely manner. As such, Vincent made frequent trips to the main office to make hard copies of files and forms, and today was no exception. The adding of another Rixon to his dockett (as well as a couple other students) had meant more writing, more notes, and ultimately more forms.

On his way out of the copy room, the trainer heard sounds of someone shouting (probably a student, given the large amount of "cursing" involved) and clattering. Concerned, he walked quickly to the source and found no students but a young woman patting her hands about on the ground. It appeared she was looking for something, but she had doubtfully been the person he'd heard down the hall. She looked a bit too old to be a student, though he was still getting used to identifying European age markers - people who were non-Asian aged very differently than the people he'd grown up around.

Setting down his paperwork on the counter, the tall man walked over carefully, making sure not to step on anything. "Excuse me," he greeted cautiously, not wanting to startle the woman too terribly. "Can I be of some help?" The patting pattern that she made on the ground was similar to that of a person losing their glasses, but her face didn't seem turned in the same direction that her hands were moving. Curious.

The hurried footsteps from behind her made Honor a little more cautious as to her hand placement, lest the person was clumsy enough to step on her hand. They were her lifeline, quite literally.

At the offer of help, Honor sighed and nodded. "My glasses. And my walking stick. Some little turdlet went and knocked them off me. Could you find them for me?" No pleases or thank yous left her lips because Honor couldn't even be bothered.

People should feel obligated to help the disabled anyway. She might as well use it to her advantage, even though she was more than capable of doing it herself.

Well, that was a word he'd never heard before. Nothing even close, in fact. Vincent's understanding of the English language was still attempting to incorporate slang, bur such things came slowly, especially with new words being added daily. Still, by her tone, this woman was unimpressed with whatever was going on.

Looking around cautiously, the trainer found the stick a short way from him and retrieved it, then located the glasses that had skittered slightly further away and picked them up, too. Having found the objects in question, he returned to Honor's side, careful not to step on her fingers.

"Are these the items you lost?" he asked, holding up the glasses in front of her supposed line-of-sight and well within reach. The walking stick he set on the ground in front of her with a click that was unintentional, as he had yet to really discover that she was blind. Knowing Honor, it wouldn't be long, though.

The moment of silence before she heard feet shuffling made Honor frown slightly. Did he expect a please? Well, he wasn't going to get any, is he?

The blond tactile hypnotist sat up straight, folding her hands in her lap as she waited for her things. When she felt the presence come near, she pulled herself up into a stand just as the question came.

Was he joking? He had to be, yes?

With her line of sight just below his nose, Honor raised a perfectly arched eyebrow before chuckling, her raspy voice lending a sort of breathy laugh. One that, had it been on a proper young lady, would have sounded sweet.

"Are they a pair of shades and a walking stick? Because if they are, then yes, they are the items I lost. If you're playing some kind of sick joke on me and you're actually not showing me anything then you're potentially a psychopath. You see where I'm going with this? Because I'm not able to." She spoke in a rather sweet tone, despite her raised eyebrow.

Now it was Vincent's turn to frown. A joke? No, why would he be joking at a time like this? He was being serious. Also, it was plainly obvious that he wasn't holding nothing. Why would she think he was-

Then he understood, but only after he was able to look into (or rather at) her eyes. The thin white film, the vacant stare, the fact that she didn't look back. This woman was blind. "I offer my apologies," he replied softly, his tone slightly guilty. "I did not realize your affliction. Yes; I have found your sunglasses and walking stick."

The other trainer was unsure of how to hand over the items, so he merely waited as he was for a moment as he mulled over taking the woman's hand and putting the items in it. It would probably have been rude, however. Hmm.

She could practically hear the cogs working in his head, finally realising what exactly is happening. But his choice of words made her give out a bark of laughter. "My affliction?" She dusted off her skirt and moved in the direction of his voice.

"I'm sorry but I am not suffering from this." She said in a calm voice. "I'm pretty sure I can see much better than you. And at the very least I don't have to see any of the things that make you feel pain and suffering. Affliction?" She sneered.

When he kept quiet and didn't hand her her things, Honor sighed heavily and stretched her hand out in the direction of where his voice had come from. "Don't keep my things hostage." She voiced out.

In Japan, disability was considered a number of things, a mark on society or a curse being only a few. Someone with blindness could perhaps become a successful and productive member of such a culture, but rarely were they ever happy. This woman, with her calm and assured tone (even outright superiority), seemed to feel that being blind was no more a handicap than being able to walk was. It was an admirable trait.

"That is certainly possible," the taller of them agreed. "I apologize for my assumption. You seem to be a very capable woman."

Placing the items in her hands carefully and firmly, Vincent really didn't have any idea just what Honor could do to him or really how much she disliked him in that moment. Personally, he'd normally not care, either; few of his coworkers at Eisai had appreciated him being around, and he'd gotten used to the fact. However, here at this school, the trainer had rarely found anyone older than a student who displayed such blatant disrespect.

Even as he handed over the glasses and stick, long fingers accidentally brushed over her palm. Amusingly, this was possibly the most dangerous thing Vincent had done at Hammel yet.

Honor's upper lip quirked high at the other trainer's apology. He was accommodating, wasn't he? No fun for Honor it seemed.

"How delightfully charming of you to say so. Not that I didn't already know that."

She felt his fingers brush against her skin and that was all it took for her to make the connection. "Now let's just see how well you handle afflictions." She whispered softly, letting his mind meld into hers, seeing or rather not seeing how she did.

"Enjoy your day, Mr...Meian." She unfurled her walking stick, shivering as some disjointed memories the man had been through started through her mind as though they were her own.

The sensation would only last a minute or two but it was more than enough for the man to feel much discomfort. And she was going to enjoy listening to him through the affliction.

The quirking of the tall man's eyebrow (an expression of his disbelief in just how arrogant the woman before him had expressed herself to be) was unnoticed to be sure. She certainly was very sure of herself, now, wasn't she? Even he wasn't this rude over a small misunderstanding - if it really meant so much to her, he'd be sure to avoid any conversations about Honor's blindness with her in the future.

There was a whisper from her lips, something about "afflictions", and suddenly all of his sight was gone. The Japanese man jolted backwards, his back suddenly hitting a wall and knocking the air from his lungs in his startled scramble away from danger. He couldn't see, and his heart was racing with a sudden and uncomfortable nostalgia of things best left unremembered. Steadying himself against the wall, Vincent bent forward a bit to relax his center of gravity, searching his thoughts for something to explain what just happened without panicking.

What happened? What's going on? Where did the world fall away to? Why can't I see? Where did that woman go? Did my powers activate? I don't hear anything unusual... Am I unconscious? Is this some sort of dream? I feel, I can think, I can hear... what is going on?!

Struggling to maintain a grip on his panic, Vincent forced his hands into fists and closed his eyes (not that it did anything). Something happened and now he couldn't see. But he needed to calm down. If he didn't calm down, he could hurt someone. Breathe, you stubborn fool, breathe.

If the man had any reservations about Honor's ill-respect towards anybody's worth, he probably shouldn't have them now. Any future conversations with her at all, regardless the topic, he hoped to have should vanish right then and there. She was most definitely never entertaining the idea of any form of contact with anybody.

She did, however, get the satisfaction of hearing the man's reaction as he bumped against the wall. A tiny smirk lilted in the corner of her lips. She was beginning to get everything the man was feeling, the panic, the paranoia, the anger... The blond chuckled quietly and started to walk away.

"You'll regain your sight but do try not to patronise or pretend to empathise with blind people or...how you say...people with afflictions?" She snorted softly before using her stick to tap him gently. "Thank you ever so much for helping me find my lost items. It's been such a pleasure, our playful banter was."

Honor used her stick to continue walking into the office, leaving the man to fend for himself.
