Siblings Alike (Bryan R.)

Often times, students with older siblings tended to have different teachers than those of their blood relations. This was done for a number of reasons; different power sets, request, school policy, or even luck of the draw. In Japan, many students were divided up to trainers based on their grade level or age, then further by a trainer's ability to mold their powers into something useful (or at least safe). Vincent had been different, mainly because of his adaptability with students but also because of his expertise. He had students from all grade levels and all walks of life, and he guided them through to graduation with an almost flawless degree of success. The only thing they all tended to have in common was the desire for mischief or if they had something to hide.
Hammel wasn't really like that, however. Yes, he had the "problem students" that seemed to bounce around frequently. Other trainers also had their share of that, though, so it wasn't just on him. Additionally, the school seemed to care a bit more about the powers training than it did academia (though both were important), so those who did not have a good grasp on their powers were kept behind to make sure they wouldn't hurt themselves or others. But, surprisingly, siblings still tended to have different teachers and trainers.
Until today.
Bryan Rixon had been added to Vincent's docket earlier this month, though with the boy settling in, he'd had little time to meet with him and discuss training at all. Today seemed like a free day, and with the break in progress there was more than enough time to get to know the youth. Considering that the Japanese man already had one mischief maker by the name Rixon (who was currently in the infirmary with a case of pneumonia and pining about it very audibly), he was somewhat wary of this younger sibling. However, he refrained from judgement until he met the boy. It was only fair.
He'd scheduled to meet Bryan outside in the courtyard, choosing a place with plenty of textures for the boy to choose from and practice with. Brick, stone, grass, earth, wood, iron, and even glass were all present in one form or another, and the trainer had brought plastic water bottles and a few small towels as well. According to his teachers, Bryan was very enthused about his power and would want to touch everything. So, why not? He could let the boy tire himself out with as much experimentation as he wanted and then they could move on to containing the ability so it didn't activate accidentally, then picking between multiple objects touched simultaneously, and finally with managing side effects. It would be a bit of a journey, considering the boy's age, but time they had.
Sitting out in the sunshine, the trainer made an interesting black spot in the middle of one of the bright green lawns, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows as usual and his long legs stretched out before him in a posture of relaxation. Sunglasses sat on his face to protect his light sensitive eyes, and his long hair had been pulled back (somewhat successfully) into a ponytail low on his neck. A paper bag (yet another texture) filled with his supplies sat next to him, and he enjoyed the warmth of the sun's rays as he waited for his student to arrive.
He probably didn't have to wait long.
