You Weren't Invited *Cam*

[Sakiya Min]

Saki picked her way through the vegetation. She was glad she wore her boots out there. Earlier in the year, she had found this glade and couple of times a week she went back there to practice her singing. She wasn't afraid of an audience or thought her voice needed work before it was introduced to other people, in fact she knew that her voice was good and she was attractive and all of that, it was that she just needed to be alone.

Even the most social person needed her space. She sat in the middle of the glade. She had brought a backpack with her and a very soft blanket she wasn't afraid of getting dirty. Her voice echoed clearly through the glade as she went through the practice songs. She hadn't had time to actually memorize songs yet, but she knew some of the chorus of them or she sang her own songs.

I am like a ticking bomb
Waiting to go off
My time undefinable
Losing all that I've gained

I don't know which one to cut
Red or blue
Or was it yellow?
Something to defuse this ticking bomb
So I know I'm safe
But no one is safe anymore are they?

A crack sounded somewhere in front of her. The glade wasn't that far off the beaten trail and the actual walking trail wasn't far from where she was. If someone was quiet enough, they could hear her singing and might want to investigate.

Everyone needed a place to think, even Cameron, who didn't really seem to be doing much thinking at all, even at the best of times. But his social life was barely in existence and so, he was beginning to do different things with his time. Now he understood why all those shutins had so much time to do things like this!

He had managed to climb half way up a tree, just to lean against the thick trunk, close his eyes, and exist. One minute he was thinking, the next he was startled awake from falling asleep and nearly knocking himself over in the process. Trying to resettle himself, Cameron closed his eyes once more before hearing someone singing in the distance. Huh, that wasn't normal in this area.

Climbing down the tree, Cam sidestepped the path and found an open area. That's where the singing was coming from. "Wow, nice place you've found here," he mused unabashedly. "Nice singing by the way."

Saki quickly got up, she wasn't used to people invading her private area. How stupid of her to sing to so loudly. But she was loving the lyrics and thought the meaning had to be sing loudly instead of quietly. "Thanks," she said. This would be very amusing. This guy was a student, she had seen him around the campus and he was hott. So hott. "What are you doing out here?"

She deftly moved to the side. Saki couldn't let this boy catch her off guard, she didn't know him and though he didn't look dangerous, most of the dangerous ones didn't look dangerous. It was strange to see another person in her glade. She imagined her pheromones as a green hand snaking to the male. It gripped his wrist. She opened her eyes slowly, looking at him through her lashes, was it working?

Cameron nodded, and then shrugged. "Oh I don't know," he said, kicking at a rock that didn't exist as he made his way towards her. "Went for a walk, climbed a tree, and now I've found a pretty girl - I guess it's been a good day so far." He smirked at her, tilting his head to the side. "Want to make it better?"

Of course, this had all happened before her power hit him. She didn't need pheromone manipulation to have Cameron at her every beck and call.

His eyes went wide as that usual sensation of attraction overtook his, albeit stronger than normal, but still, he was surprised as his smile turned a little sloppy. "What's a pretty girl like you doing out here all by yourself anyways? Aren't you afraid of being... attacked?" He raised an eyebrow suggestively.

Saki laughed, a little too loud. That was definitely not the affect she was going after. "Trust me honey," she said silkily, "you don't want to know what happens to people when they attack me." She was small (hello, Asian!) and compact. If she chose to, she could a large amount of damage. Cam was a cutie. Blonde hair and blue eyes, it was the eyes. They caught her off guard for the first time in a few years. Was he suggesting that he would be the one to attack her? "My name is Sakiya, what's yours?" She moved closer, choosing her steps carefully. Playing fire was all fun until somebody got burned. Saki kept her distance from him, but circled him like a wolf circling their prey. She brushed back some of the golden blonde hair from her face.

How would she mess with him? Make him sick? Was he actually a threat to her? Or was he actually concerned for her safety? She pursued her lips, she didn't anyone looking out for her, that was her job and only her job. After circling around him, she got close enough to lay three fingers on his on. She could imagine more green smoke (or pheromones) tracing up his arm to his nose. She had always wondered what it smelled like to them. "Are you my attacker?" Saki asked sweetly, putting some emphasis on the words.

Cam held his hands up in mock surrender. “Got it.” He said, his eyes filled with mirth. “Good thing I decided to play nice, this time.” He sent her a wink and tilted his head to the side. She was beautiful, to say the least, and not the conventional kind. Her face was extremely oriental, and Cameron found himself warming up to it already.

“Cameron ,” he said, his head moving to watch her watching him, “but I go by Cam.” He smiled then, reaching out to stop her from circling him like a shark. “Your name is far more interesting,” he said, holding her wrist loosely, letting go as he felt something electric both pulling him closer to her, and pushing away. That was new...

His muscles twitched towards her on impulse, and those big innocent eyes seemed all but inviting. He smirked at her flirting, breaching the gap between them by standing merely an inch away from her. “I could be,” he answered, going in as though he were about to kiss her, but he stopped short. “But I think you’re attacking me."

Saki brought in a deep breath, her entire body reacting to him. Could he control her pheromones as well? "Me, attack someone? But I'm so small and cute," she said in a small, child's voice. She finally let her power give it a rest. He was already attracted to her and playing the same game she was. Oh dear Lord, he was tall. "So, are you going to attack me already?"

She shuffled closer until the tips of their toes were touching. "Or were you too scared I was going to do something to you?" A shiver ran through her body, cause by the wind. She sighed more deeply, wondering what was attracting her to him, well beside the amazing body of course.
