Not on fire, this time(Tracy)

Xavier had basically been avoiding everything about that night when his powers manifested. It always seemed to come back up in his thoughts and he could never seem to get away from it. It had been luck that kept everyone alive and out of harm way. Well, Xavier really wasn't out of harms way but it was kind of hard to help a kid who is completely on fire. It hadn't been an all bad day. He had also been recruited to Hammel by one Tracy Jade. That guy had saved Xavier's life and he didn't have to answer one single question about how the house actually got lit in the first place.

Xavier was out in the courtyard like he usually was on a nice day. Although it didn't look like it was going to stay that way because Xavier could see the clouds rolling in. He wasn't ready to go inside just yet and stayed by the bench he was sitting at. He just wanted to soak up some sun and avoid detention today and was happy doing it until he noticed Tracy. Recognition was set on Xavier's face. Xavier called him over," Tracy!"

Xavier – now that was a boy Tracy wouldn’t soon forget. After all, it wasn’t every day that you went to recruit a kid and there he was, totally on fire. Of course his parents were panicking, but Tracy managed to calm the whole household and explain what had happened. A lot of paperwork later and the damages done had been practically reversed. Hammel was an amazing place.

Tracy didn’t often hang around the grounds, preferring the company of his family to that of the students, but something seemed to call him to the courtyard today.

A familiar voice called out to him. “Hey Xavier,” he said happily, his hands in his pockets after he had given a wave. “Something told me I should come to the courtyard today,” he said conversationally, “how are things going for you?” He knew he wasn’t Xavier’s trainer, but he did care about the young man.

Hmm how were things going recently. Well, He had lit a teacher's office on fire, Broken his arm playing meta catch, and fell through a hole in the wall from the second story. "Uh," Xavier scratched his head thinking of what to say," Okay I guess. "

Xavier tried to keep most of his life a secret and so he didn't openly tell everyone that he was basically failing with his power. Sadly it wasn't so much a secret and Xavier often go into trouble by getting mad at people.

Xavier eyed the storm hoping it would blow away but knew it probably wouldn't

"That's good, you have a good trainer then?" He asked. Tracy blinked - had something just hit his face? Looking up, he noticed the storm clouds brewing. Ah, so it had started to rain.

"Come on, let's get inside before it really starts to come down," he said, gesturing towards the building. They didn't have far to go, and he didn't know about Xavier, but he didn't want to get soaked, not today.

Unsure of what else to say to the kid, Tracy grappled for something they had in common. "You know when I first came here, I had the worst luck getting used to my powers," he chuckled, "I'm glad yours aren't giving you a hard time."

Xavier didn't have a trainer at all recently. He hadn't really tried to do anything about his powers and Tracy was making it really hard to lie.

Xavier hurried inside. Not wanting to feel any of the cold rain. he was already starting to feel sick but luckily he was back inside. " what kind of trouble did you have?" Xavier couldn't see Tracy having any trouble at all but was interested to see if they had something in common. Xavier tried to avoid Tracy's eyes and look away, which usually meant looking down. He didn't want to give up his lie that his life wasn't a complete mess.

"Oh you know," Tracy began casually, "my power would latch onto everyone else's and immediately have the same problems as well as strength." He smiled. "Power mimicry, total power mimicry, flaws and all. It was like trying to learn how to control every single power." But he had in the end, and was glad for it. Having power mimicry was like having every single power, even though it had been tough. But at least he really could, literally, relate to everyone's power problems.

Xavier sat down next to the door. It had was already colder outside and the door had a bunch of steam on it from Xavier leaning against it. There was no point in standing and Xavier was nervous enough from lying on something as stupid as his power. He could lie like no other when people talked about alcohol or Xavier getting into trouble but for some reason lying to someone who was just trying to help him was hard.

Tracy had shared his problems and his life and Xavier had lied. Xavier looked away and mumbled" Maybe I haven't done so well."

Tracy knew the look on Xavier's face. He smiled and put a hand on the kid's shoulder, even though it was against policy and all that mumbo jumbo. "Hey, you've got pride, we all do." He put his hands in his pockets, looking out the window as the rain continued to pour. "Don't worry, you just need some training, that's why you're here. If you really had it all together, you wouldn't need us."

"I'm not supposed to help you train, but maybe I could help you figure out your power?" And at the very least, be someone who supported Xavier on his path to become a fully controlled meta human.

Xavier did have pride and hated asking for help or accepting it. He also hated needing people. So many people had ditched him in his past that he had no where else to turn until he came to Hammel.

The truth was that Xavier did need the help and he couldn't refuse it. Xavier nodded his head yes to Tracy. It was all that he could do right now and he would have to live with it plus Tracy was probably the only person who could mimic his powers and not get burnt.

Tracy smiled. "Awesome. It'll all work out and be fun and whatever else an adult's supposed to say." Truly, he was just a kid at heart, but he really did have a passion for young adults, even if they didn't seem to give a shit about a lot of things in life.

"Listen, I've gotta get to my next assignment, but how about he meet out in the fields next Monday?"
