Teen Titans, Go! (Lor)

Leon snagged the couch the second he entered the lounge; hopping over the back and landing to sprawl out and take up all the room. Nah, he didn't really feel like sharing today. Reaching over, he instantly snatched the remote from the nearby coffee table. Sure, an explanation for his behaviour might have been necessary. But not to him. It was one of those unspoken things in his mind that didn't really need to be explained.

He had this next hour totally penciled in.

With the pressing of a few buttons, the channel was successfully changed. Leon hooked his arms underneath his head to elevate it further as he awaited the end of the string of ads before it was on. Was he early? Because it felt like this was going on for an eternity. Reluctantly, Leonardo stood up and padded down his pockets, catching some loose change and making a break for the vending machine across the room. Potato chips would be the perfect snack, right?

That familiar intro started to play and he turned suddenly, looking to snag his place on the couch once again when he realised that at some point, a girl had appeared and sat down instead. "Uhh..." He began, staring at her with confusion.

It felt like Lorelei had been waiting for a break for all day. It wasn't that late, truly, but the day had been dragging on and all she wanted was a little bit of time to relax and enjoy some good TV. And by good TV, she of course meant some cartoons. Something about cartoons made her feel normal. Almost all her life she'd been expected to act like an adult, and that hadn't changed when her parents gave her up and sent her to Hammel. She was forced to learn that she and only she could help herself, could learn and control her power, could take care of herself. Anyone who knew her or her sister knew that they had to grow up fast, faster than a normal kid might have to. But then, there weren't a lot of normal kids at Hammel. Still that didn't change anything. She wanted to be a kid, she wanted to enjoy things that kids enjoyed, and cartoons were her weakness.

Cartoon Network had been her favorite for a long time. There were other cartoons on other stations she liked, of course, but Cartoon Network was sort of her cartoon home. It was just about time for one of her favorites, so she stepped into the lounge quietly, her flats barely making a sound. The first thing she noticed was that there was a boy by the snack machine putting his money in and the second was that the TV was on just the right channel. Teen Titans would be coming on any second, she's gotten there just in time. So she sat down quietly at the end of the couching, her hands folded in her lap, and looked up at the television.

A moment later the boy turned around and started to step toward the couch when he drew back, a bag of chips in his hands, and stared in stunned silence at Lorelei. She gave him a politely smile and then looked down at the couch, her mouth opening a little before she ever said anything. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm just here to see the show. Did I...did I steal your seat?" She asked, blushing somewhat, embarrassed.

Some might think it was childish to be annoyed when a seat was occupied, especially when there were so many others around it. And normally Leon probably would be annoyed, but during the time he took to stare at her, he struggled to look past how beautiful she was. It might have sounded cliche, but it was still true.

When she started talking his mouth broke into a smile and he laughed nervously at the situation, waving his hand and taking a short step back. "No no, that's okay. I mean, I was sitting there but it's all good." He made his way over to the nearby armchair and slumped down, breaking open the packet of chips in his hand. "Though, it could have been pretty awkward if I hopped back over onto the couch, right?" Leon asked with a laugh, "Unless you want to be crushed by a guy." He added, leaning back and producing a chip from the packet. He brought it to his mouth and stopped suddenly, realising what could have been meant by his statement.

"I didn't mean it like-" He began, shaking his head slightly. "Y'know?"

The first thing she noticed was that he had originally planned on sprawling out across the couch with the chips to watch the cartoon that was coming on. It would be finding it's way onto the television set any minute, and she didn't want to interrupt, but she didn't want to ignore him either. She'd watched his facial expression change from slight anger to surprise upon his turning around, and then he'd produced a smile. Which made her smile in return. He'd played it cool, sitting down in the chair beside the couch instead of taking up a seat beside her (which she wouldn't have minded), and began to dig into his bag of chips.

She giggled at his statement, covering her mouth as she did. He was cute and he could make her laugh, which was a plus in her book. Lorelei was easily drawn to people, she just wasn't good at initiating contact, which left her with fewer friends than the average Hammel student, but a few close friends, which was always good. She'd seen this guy before, she was sure, in passing by or something, and he always seemed to be smiling. It was nice to put a voice to his face, and to know that he seemed to enjoy cartoons like she did.

"It's okay, I understood," she said with a smile in response as the Teen Titans intro went off and the actual show began. Her eyes moved from the television and back to him quickly. "Sorry to interrupt, it's coming on now." She replied and turned her body back toward the television, looking up and smiling as the scene opened with the team of teen super heroes sitting on their couch.

If she'd seen him before, Leon wouldn't be surprised. He delved into a lot of the school's sporting teams and it left his name a little heightened when it came to popularity. Furthermore, he was catagorised as the kind of guy who did a lot of things for fun; tossing snowballs at unsuspecting victims, skateboarding through the hallways, running along cafeteria tables during lunch for the hell of it. His reputation might have preceded him, and not in a good way. But he honestly had no idea.

"That's good. Some girl's don't." Leonardo replied. He'd run into a few of those lately who just didn't seem to get him, and that was fine. He went to say something else to her; the first thing that would come into his head, but she beat him to it. The show was coming on. "Oh, right. Sorry."

Leon's laugh was almost instant; the same old gag of not being able to find the remote. He chuckled along as if he were in on the joke, throwing his head back slightly and hooking into the bag of chips again. At some point he idly pointed to the screen, leaning in her direction and without taking his eyes from the screen. "Hey, if you were gonna be a Teen Titan, which one would you be?" He asked. A question that no doubt took a lot of thought. Unless she thought of it already...

His question made her smile as their eyes stayed locked on the screen, watching the characters interact with one another. Lorelei thought his question over for a moment. She'd given it thought before but could never ultimately come to a conclusion. She knew a few things for sure. First, she wasn't Robin. Robin was the bold leader that was quick on his feet in more ways than one - fast, athletic, and able to think quickly and make judgements in tough situations. That was more like her sister, Emery, than it was Lorelei. She wasn't Cyborg because he was strong, witty, and good with technology and Lorelei was none of those things. Though Raven was her favorite of the teen crime fighting force, Lorelei was nothing like her either because Raven was confident and seemed to know her exact purpose and role. So that left two.

"Well," Lorelei said out loud while keeping her eyes on the screen as well. "I think most people would describe be as Starfire. But I think I'm more like Beastboy, in all honesty. Just...maybe not as funny. Maybe I'm kind of a mix of the both of them." Lorelei was somewhat annoyed by the fact that she couldn't decide, but both Starfire and Beastboy had qualities similar to Lorelei. Starfire being generally positive but prone to short fits of sadness, Beastboy being a reassuring type who connected with animals. Shrugging some she looked over to him with a slight smile and asked the same question of him. "What about you? Who would you be?"

After posing the question she turned back to the television and stared, watching as the bad guy of the episode emerged to create conflict. Then after a moment, before he could answer, she said, "Oh, and I'm Lorelei. It's nice to meet you."

Leon grinned when she was talking. The way she was talking about the characters made it pretty clear that she had thought of this before. Hey, what fan of the show hadn't? "You don't get confused by human sayings, do you?" He asked with a laugh, "Cause that's probably my favourite thing about her. That and proof of alien life, but we won't get into that." He added, humour colouring his voice to show he was only joking.

As he added a short stint of thought into how he would word his answer, she offered her name. He looked over at her and smiled, twisting his fingers idly through the short curls in his hair. "Leonardo. Like the painter. Or the turtle. But most people call me Leon or Leo, depending on their preference." And he didn't mind either way. Nicknames were fun.

"And I always thought I was a Beastboy type. The guy likes to have fun and joke around. I get that." He admitted, leaning to the side of the armchair and looking back at the TV, "But maybe a little Cyborg too. It uhh, sorta has to do with powers when it comes to that though." Metal-man and Cyborg fit together nicely, right?

Lorelei passed him a smile and turned away from the television for just a moment, long enough to respond with "Beastboy is my favorite guy in the show."

She turned back to the television just as a commercial came on, and smiled because the one that came on was one that she always found amusing. She watched it for a second and then turned back to him, facing her body toward him as well, legs crossed on the couch.

"So your power has something to do with metal, then? I have a friend that can do things with metal. He's an alchemist, is that what you are? Or something different?" Lorelei asked with a steady smile. She had always loved learning about the different meta's and their various powers, but it struck her almost as soon as the words left her mouth that maybe it wasn't the kind of thing he would like to discuss. Especially with someone he didn't really know and had only met minutes before. She felt her face heat up and turn red and she looked away, her voice becoming quiet again.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry. How rude of me...I'm just curious, is all. People don't talk to me very much and I love to learn about other peoples abilities...it's fascinating. But if you'd rather not say, I understand."

Rambling, that was a steady trait of the girl. It was just like her to ask a question that might not be comfortable and then ramble apologetically. It was embarrassed her and she turned back toward the television, attempting to use her hair as a curtain to hide her red face.

Leon's mouth curled into an amused grin when she said Beastboy was her favourite in the show. Regardless of how she meant it, he was taking that as a compliment.

With the commercial unshackling them from the lock of the show, Leon looked back at her because she was addressing him again. He offered a confused look, if only because he couldn't initially understand what an alchemist could do as a power. Was it like that guy on that anime? Turning one thing into another? He mentally shook the thought away for now.

He laughed when she apologised before he'd managed to answer her question. "It's fine, really. I can't imagine why people wouldn't want to talk to you." He replied, pulling at the long sleeve of his shirt to expose his forearm completely. After a moment or two, it steadily became solid-looking metal from the tips of his fingers to the break at his elbow. He launched to the other side of the armchair, holding it out towards her so she could get a better look.

"Totally Cyborg, right?" He asked with a smile.
