Mia bit her bottom lip, now she felt completely horrible for moving on, or well trying to move on. She never really moved on from Tal, everything reminded her of him and it had just been so hard. But who could blame her for moving on? He left without an explanation and she didn’t want to hold that over his head. But Mia had, for so long, thought that he had hated her for what had happened. Of course she was never going to tell Tal the guy that she tried to get over him with was a guy from the football team… She looked down at the ground, searching for words to say, but she just couldn’t find them. “I’m sorry…” Was all she could fight to get out. Was could she say to her ex of three years that hadn’t meant anyone special except her? It actually made her feel pretty good about herself.
But there was still something wrong about all of this. And it was the fact that she had changed so much throughout the years. Would he even like her once he got to know her again? Would she be able to handle that rejection if he didn’t?
Mia moved from one foot to the other, they were still standing in the middle of the hall and she felt quite awkward. She nodded, wishing he would say more that ‘so, your band’ since this was the second time he had said that. Really? He couldn’t think of anything else to talk about? Like her new look/style, how she was doing? Anything? He could even ask for her phone number or if she was staying in the dorms or not; something that would hint to him wanting to see her again. Mia nodded “Yeah, we are just starting out. Still trying to get a feel for one another and come up with good songs to play. Er…. Then we might start doing shows places, haven’t really thought that much into it yet…”
