Ren always loved the Home Ec. rooms. A terrible cook and absolutley terrible with her hands, her H.E teacher exclaimed to her after her first not ruined dish:
"I will make a chef out of you yet, Adrienne Tatum!"
She chuckled at the memory. She could get close, or on the nerves, of any teacher at Hammel. She was polite, reliable and just had a that kind of personality. She tightened her pony tail and grinned. Another thing Ren was without a doubt, was a sweet stuff addict. And there was the bake sale on... Good fortune smiled upon here this day. It was time for cupcake hunting!!
There wasn't a lot of people here and the people who were fluttering about, Ren didn't know. She frowned. There wasn't much baking going on. Which meant there were no sweet things that had been baked. Good fortune seemed to be fading.
With the lyrics to "Candy Man" stuck in her head, she decided not to give up hope. She hadn't eaten that much for breakfast either, so she, really didn't want to have to give up. As the words "You can even eat the dishes" went merrily by in her head, her stomach squealed in hunger. Ren moaned, "Oh why must life be so cruel?"
Then out of the corner of her eye, she saw a girl. Ren beamed. Maybe she had some food... Maybe she should go to Dr. Neville about this obsession with not only sweets, but food in general. She walked up to her and greeted her with twidling fingers and a big smile, "Hey! I've only eaten A fistful of Lucky Charms this morning. Sorry if I start knawing on your arm 'cos you've turned into a cupcake." Not seeing anything perculiar about this as a conversation starter she laughed and then grinned, "I'm Ren. It's short for Adrienne." She gave the girl a warm, friendly smile.
