Confused, overwhelmed, were under statements on how she felt at the moment.
After all she wakes up in the hospital under restraint, with her father and mother thinking she was doing some kind of drug and now a stranger tells her parents that she has a power, an ability and that she would need to learn to control this ability at a far off school called Hammel Institute.
As a nurse came in to remove the restraints and the IV, her mother took the opportunity to give her one of those super long bear hugs that seemed to last for ever, almost like her mother thought she would never see her little one again. Page leaned her head on her mothers chest, listening to her moms heart beat like she would do when she was little when she was afraid of what ever, it was comforting to know she was always so close.
Her father questioned Milan like if the guy had done something wrong, asking for proof and documentation. Page didn’t think he was open to having a daughter that had some kind of super power like in X-men, yet this wasn’t the movies, it was her life and she didn’t know what to think.
Really? You wake up one morning and poof! You’re a super hero! Well, no, no super power but some kind of super natural ability that from that point on has changed not only herself but her whole life. Tears flowed down her fair face, her eyes already showing red. Sure she was scared, wouldn’t you be?
Page was still in pain, pulling away from her mother , she clasped her hands around her head closing her eyes at the same time. Seeing her daughter in pain hurt her mother the most. She asked the doctor that she knew caring for Page if she could have a muscle relaxant with some pain meds, the doctor normally wouldn’t but under the circumstance he agreed.
After Page got her injection to help ease her pain, her parents insisted on bringing her home to say good-bye to her sister’s and brother’s along with gathering a few things for the trip to Hammel, they sure wouldn’t let her leave clad only in a light nightgown!
Page climbs into the front seat of her father’s cruiser as her mother gets into the back seat, Milan would follow them in his own car the short twenty minuet drive to the family home. As they pull into the driveway there was an officer keeping watch over the house as a precaution., after all they didn’t know what happened to Page when she was found walking down the street in a stupor.
Sage had been watching for them and ran out to greet them, hugging her sister Page hard. “It’s ok Sage, I’ll be fine, trust me” Page tells Sage as she tries to pull her twin off. Gage was on the step along with August, Lynne was sleeping over a friends house so she would find out later about Pages incident and her leaving for Hammel.
After gather things and changing her clothes along with the tearful goodbyes, Page leaves her family for the first time in her life for Hammel, for the new life that was about to unfold before her. In the car with Milan she is very quite, her head leaning on the window that is slightly open allowing air to hit her face, yes a vain attempt to ease her pain, both physically and mentally.
When they got to Hammel She was brought to an office where she sat on a loveseat and waited for Milan.
