Flirting With Disaster (Kendall)

Sam had lost his schedule. ... Again. Anyone with half a brain probably would have had theirs memorized at this point in the semester. But no. Not the dimwitted pyrokinetic.

As such, he had traveled from the dorms to main office during his study period. At least, he was pretty sure it was his study period.

This was why he needed a new schedule.

To keep him company on the trip, he'd pulled his little gecko out of his tank and stuck him on his shoulder. He was positive that Iggy could use a change of scenery now and again, and taking him to the office seemed a perfectly legitimate field trip.

Besides, if the pretty receptionist refused his request for another schedule, he'd just offer Iguana and let him work his little gecko charms. It seemed to work fairly well, like with Spencer. ... Okay, so a FEW girls had backed away squealing, but Kendall was cool, right? Right.

He threw open the door to the office and slunk inside, already flashing his best 'Sexy and I Know It' grin. "Heeeey babe." Flirting always got you what you wanted, in his opinion. He leaned on the desk, switching from sexy to innocent. "Can I have a new schedule? Please?" If asked, he hadn't lost it. Not again. He'd... think of an excuse. Eventually.

The strangest thing about Kendall's association with one Samuel Rixon was that the student always seemed to catch them on a she-day. Some days were more she than others, but invariably the two always crossed paths when Kendall's hair flowed past their shoulders and their skin took the healthy dark bronze tone. Kendall didn't even have to try to pull the wool over Rixon's eyes. It just happened naturally. And it tickled them pink every time because he really didn't seem to understand who he was flirting with.

Their eyes flicked to the gecko at Sam's shoulder, but otherwise did not aknowledge the lizard as they crossed their long legs under the desk, pointed boots tapping against the wood inside. "You may not have a new schedule, but you are permitted to request another printed copy of the one you already made." Kendall cooed, manicured nails plucking at the fabric of their dark slacks.

"I believe that you've reached your printed limit, Samuel. And seeing as I wouldn't let you change your enrollment to your classes no matter how much you complain about them, you may as well take your pet and go back to class." Kendall chuckled, smiling devilishly at Sam. "Perhaps you can convince your teachers to remind you when it is they are forced to suffer your presence. I'm sure they all know and dread the section quite well."

Sam had absolutely no idea that Kendall was a shapeshifter. Even less that she shifted between male and female appearances. He'd never actually seen her male counterpart, which was more than okay with him. As long as she was female, he could flirt his way into anything. (Or so he figured.) Especially with Spencer at college now. Not that he would ever cheat on his girlfriend, but harmless flirting had become a lot easier when he wasn't worried that she would see it and get the wrong idea. Or worse, have a friend report it back to her. Flirting wasn't cheating. It was just... fun.

His expression faltered when she denied him making a new schedule, though he quickly recovered when she said he could have another printed copy. "Naw, I don't wanna change my classes. I like 'em." When he actually attended them. And didn't get caught falling asleep when he did. "I just want another copy, 'cause, uh..." Think, Sammy, think. "This little guy ate it?" With that, he moved Iguana from his shoulder to the desk. The gecko didn't seem to care, simply blinking and looking up at Kendall. "He likes paper."

Blaming your pet had to work. It worked for dogs, right? Why not geckos? Plus, Iggy was so cute, Kendall had to believe him.

When he was outright denied the new copy, Sam's face fell instantly. "Buuuuuut!" Cue the saddest puppy face in existence. (Which was more or less Sam widening his eyes and jutting out his lower lip.) "I've got a study period now! ... I think. And I can't remember all the classes and and and pleeeeeaaaaase?" He leaned over the desk, hands together in a pitiful attempt to beg. "I'll do anything! I'll... uh.... be your coffee slave for a week?"

And yes, the little comments about his teachers? Right over his head.

"I'm sure there is some sort of government agency I can have you reported to for mistreatment of your scaley friend if you've been feeding him your schedules, Samuel." Kendall hummed in a pursed and unamused fashion. Though that smile still rested on her mouth when she tapped her fingers against it, as if seriously considering it. "I'm sure the Gecko Protection Agency would have something to say about it."

Kendall pushed out from her desk, the rolling chair gliding over the carpet. When she stood, she rested her hands at her hips. "Only a week?" Her grin now was wide. She saw an opportunity. A fantastic opportunity to just rock little Samuel's world. He couldn't remember his classes, let alone fathom that Kendall might come in looking quite different from one day to the next. "Make it two and throw in lunch service and I'll have a copy laminated for you."

Sam's jaw dropped slightly at the idle threat. He only barely managed to shut it again, shaking his head violently. "I wouldn't do that! He ate it by himself!" Really, he was only digging himself a deeper hole. "I don't feed him anything but bugs." Not since Spencer had clued him into the fact that giving his new pet Doritos probably wasn't good for him. Leave it to his best friend to give him an awesome pet and no instructions as to how to care for the poor thing. Thank God for Spencer and Google. "You can't make them take him away. He's mine!" With that, he scooped the little creature back into his hands and put him back on his shoulder.

Of course, all of that was promptly forgotten at the chance he could get Kendall to do as he'd asked her. "Okay! Two weeks! And lunches!" Of course, Sam's idea of lunch probably left a lot to be desired. A tiny frown did flicker across his face, however. "Heeeeeeeeeey. You promise you won't call the Gecko Protection dudes? I promise I didn't let him eat it on purpose..." He was rather hung up on the idea of losing his little buddy, and he'd be more than a little put out if he was taken away.

"You've got yourself a deal, Samuel." Kendall purred, grinning like the devil over a golden fiddle. It was just so much fun to mess with someone as stupid as Sam, if a little mean spirited. "And I'll not report you to the GPA...providing you don't slip up again." they warned, raising a finger before standing and swishing over to the copy machine.

As they were making his copy, she looked him over skeptically. "Besides, I can only report you if I have evidence, and it seems your little friend is happy and healthy." With a chuckle they took Sam's schedule and ran it quickly through a laminator. Kendall handed it over the desk, but kept a stiff grip on it even when Sam grabbed hold.

"Do. Not. Come back. For another." Kendall tossed their hair over their shoulder. "And my lunch break is from twelve-thirty to two."

Sam absolutely lit up over the fact that Kendall agreed to the deal, grinning like, well... like an idiot. "Sweet! You're fuckawesome, y'know that babe?" Yes, he was still going to flirt, because damn it, Kendall was hot. "An' I promise to take good care of Iggy." He punctuated that with a light stroke to his gecko's back.

Iggy was actually very well taken care of, since Spencer had stepped in as a sort of parent to the lizard. She always made sure that Sam wasn't supplementing him with things like Twizzlers or chips. "He's always happy," he assured her. "He likes it here."

He bounced on his heels as he waited for the schedule, eagerly trying to take hold of it when it was offered. The warning more or less fell on deaf ears, as did the hours for break. Honestly, Kendall would be lucky if he remembered more than half of the allotted time. "I won't," he promised eagerly.

Right. If he didn't reappear in less than two months, it would be a sheer miracle.
