"There's a guy on the track team from Canada," Yue offered, smiling at the joke. "His name is River, he's, ah... He's very... Cheerful." A lot of other words came to mind too, but that seemed the most appropriate. "Maybe you guys would have stuff in common?" she shrugged.
Moving to the U.S. hadn't been Yue's idea - she was just a toddler at the time. Something to do with her parents and work, etc. etc. She loved the trips to Xi'an, and wouldn't have minded growing up there. Although, she supposed, she would have had to have left anyway, once her abilities manifested.
"Yeah, definitely," Yue nodded. She was glad there was no one at Hammel she particularly hated; it was a waste of time and energy, in her opinion. "No one will want to mess with me," she agreed with a chuckle, smirking at Kelly as he said he wouldn't irk her. "Don't worry, it takes a lot to get on my bad side," she assured him.
She blushed with embarrassment at his response to her word choice. She had meant it as a compliment, really. "It suits you," she added meekly, then dropped it at that. No need to dig herself a deeper hole. She brightened visibly at his offer. "That sounds fun! I don't play team sports all that much, so that would be a nice break from track." And since it wasn't for a competition or anything, she wouldn't be quite as aggressive as she usually was. But she could still give him a good game, she was sure. "Just gimme a day and time, and be ready to get your butt kicked," she grinned at him.
Her grin widened at his words. "Exactly." Ah, this Kelly was fun. Yue stood then, giving a long stretch. "Well, I better go take a shower." She gave him a small, two-fingered salute. "How about I give you my number, and you let me know when you wanna play, yeah?"
