Early in the morning's the best time to go out to the training field, especially in the summer. When the sun gets high up in the sky it's heat can really beat down on a student in the open field. The morning had a light breeze that made being out there pleasant for now. It was just late enough for the dew to evaporate but the temperature was still comfortable.
Kelly was out they to make the best of the weather. He was sure he wasn't the only student doing so. Just standing out there he could see a few others scatter around working on mastering their powers. While they were here for the same general reason, Kelly wasn't going to train. He sat down on a drier patch of grass. He looked around. Not too many students, but they were in view. Kelly pulled out his sketch pad and a took a pencil from behind his ear. It may be a stereotypical place to put it, but it stayed well.
Three circles forming the head, chest, and pelvis were drawn onto the paper. A long curvy line resembling the spine connected them, and two short lines connected by dots made each limb. Slowly line after line, Kelly began forming the people out in the field. The people started to fill out, look more like the people Kelly was watching.
He looked back up from his sketch book to get another glance at the few out there and back down. Back up, yeah, a double take. Another student was out there. He wouldn't've bothered with the double take, but he couldn't quite tell the gender of them. They didn't quite have the rectangular torso of a boy he'd expect, but there weren't any feminine curves that proved otherwise. He sat there examining the kid for a while trying to figure it out.
