Set 2011
Age was but a number to Jacelynn. Younger, older it didn't matter really. She liked who she liked and as long as it was legal, she slept with who she slept with. Though the past month or so, she had sort of given up on sleeping around. It might have had to do with the fact that she was sick of her mother constantly calling her a whore, or it could have even been the guy she was sort of falling for. But don't tell her that last part because Jacelynn was not a relationship kind of girl. In fact she strictly only kept with someone if she had the freedom to date others as well. It wasn't like she acted upon that freedom, but it kept her from freaking out over commitment.
She had to admit though, Parker was a cute one and he was soft-spoken which she appreciated due to her ability. Honestly she wasn't sure where it was going, but it was fun while it was happening. The cutesy stuff was something she hadn't been used to before this, but she was slowly starting to enjoy it. The hand-holding, the hugging, even the lip-locking. She had always been the kind of girl that preferred to not kiss on the mouth because it made things too personal. Though that made her sound like a hooker when in reality she just was terrified of commitment and all of the messy details that went into it.
Jace was keeping all of that to herself when she was with him though. Instead she acted like any girl should whens he casually dated someone. She flirted, she teased, but she also gave into him a bit. It was a struggle trying to be as sweet and calm about the whole thing because the longer they were together the more she was worried she would grow attached or worse that he would. It wasn't that she didn't like him or that she planned on breaking things off, but she didn't want to hurt him if for some reason she got too freaked out to handle it all. This all had been swirling around in her mind over the few days it had been since she'd seen him and it was driving her mad.
So naturally she told him she wanted to see him, she just left out all of the reasons why and left it at 'I miss you.' It wasn't like she had been lying, it really was why she wanted to see him. Jace figured that when she saw him, all of those thoughts would just up and disappear. She sat at the edge of the water in a frilly black skirt and a neon green strapless top. Her feet were bare as she slid them into the water, happy that it was warm enough to soothe her while she waited for him.
