Your Body is a Wonderland (Sophie)

Seeing as how he'd skipped out on the last summer outting, Ashton figured he might as well make an appearance at this one. His mother's bakery had its own tent full of discount baked goods and he was just glad his mother decided she was going to run it without him because it gave him a chance to actually enjoy the festivities. Back when he first realized it was coming up, he'd figured he would take his best friend or maybe just someone random to hang out with. Maybe even Ravyn so she could have some fun outside of work. That was before he met the girl who happened to be his date to the fair tonight. After helping her clean up the party scraps the day after and helping her with her hangover, he mentioned it to her and luckily she said yes.

He was dressed fairly simple, in an Iron Man t-shirt and jeans with a hoody hanging over his arm in case it got chilly the closer it came to night time. It wasn't dark quite yet, but the sun was lower in the sky and he knew that once the sun went down Vermont weather shifted pretty drastically. Ash picked her up at her house and they headed down to the lake where the fair was being held. He couldn't deny that he was excited because it was a full night of being with Sophie and having fun with her. Who knew, maybe he'd get to kiss her more?

After offering her his hand, they walked under the big banner that read Pilot Ridge Community Field Day 2013. He smiled and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, clearly staking a claim on this one. There was no way someone was going to be making any moves on her while he was around because if they did...well...he wasn't really sure, but it wouldn't be pretty! Yup, he was such a threat. He looked down at her, "So what do you want to hit up first? Food, rides, arcade games," He nudged her playfully at the last suggestion and smiled wider than he had been before. "Your choice, babe."

Sophie was pretty glad she didn't remember much from the party. She was glad she had been as drunk as she was, because she was pretty sure she had made a complete fool out of herself. But, luckily for her that hadn't scared this amazing guy away just yet. Hell, he had even helped her clean up and taken care of her while she had a major hangover. Now that, that was shooting the golden duck.

She had been to the fair almost every year, always with some new guy or with Layla. But this was still different. She had never gone to the fair with someone she actually liked, so she couldn't help but feeling extremely excited about it. She had decided to dress up a little less fancy today. Besides, wearing a dress and high heels didn't exactly fit the theme. So, once she had put on her white and red hoodie, shorts, red shoes and a headband, she was all set to go. And like the gentleman he was, he even picked her up.

With her hand in his they walked towards the area where the fair was held, and she couldn't begin to describe how nice it felt the way he wrapped his arm around her. For once in her life she actually didn't mind being claimed by such gestures. Besides, it wasn't like she was interested in dating someone else anyways. She rested her head against his shoulder and wrapped her own arm around his waist. ''Mmm..'' She peeked up at him with a smile. ''Since I'm just going to win anyways, let's take one of the rides!'' Oh, yeah. She'd never let him forget how she won that bet. She chuckled and leaned up to nuzzle his cheek.

Ashton was a little surprised that she hadn’t dressed up, but he had to admit, well, she was adorable in anything. He had expected her to be in typical Sophie fashion though so it caught him off guard. He was glad that she didn’t have to hurt her feet by walking around in heels all night. Even if it did gip him out of not getting to carry her around. He would gladly do that, she was a small thing as it was, nothing he couldn’t handle.

He shook his head at her and narrowed his eyes, “You’re never going to let me live that down are you? I mean honestly, you cheated for crying out loud!” He laughed and kissed her forehead. Nope, he was going to live with that for the rest of the time that they were together. Great. With his luck if he ended up marrying her and having children with her, she’d even tell them that story and emasculate him thoroughly in front of his own children. Eh, he didn’t mind it too much though. She was cute when she acted all superior and cocky.

Ash led her towards the rides and he stopped in between several of the decent ones. “Spinny, leisurely or somewhere in between?” Honestly he hoped it was anything besides the spinning rides because they made him want to fall flat on his face afterwards. Still, if that’s what she wanted, that was what she got. He couldn’t say no to a face like that. Gosh, just look at her!

''Prove it.'', she replied with a chuckle and looked at him with the most innocent smile she could. She cheat? Never! Well, yeah, she had. Kind of at least. She could always justify herself with it being small talk, but then again, she didn't know if talking about her underwear could be classified as small talk. She pulled his t-shirt to nudge him closer and leaned up to kiss the tip of his nose. ''Okay, I'm sorry. The next time I'll let you talk about your underwear - again - and we'll see if it have the same effect.'' Probably not. Not that he wasn't cute or anything, and he probably had a killer body, but at least she could manage to keep her focus. Somewhat anyways.

Sophie bit her lip and looked around. How on earth was she ever supposed to pick between all of these? That was like back when she had to pick her prom date. Well, ok. Maybe not exactly the same. Gosh, wasn't she glad this guy wasn't some kind of telepath. ''Why don't you pick?'', she asked with a smile. There, simple enough. She had picked what to do, and he could pick what ride to take. She rested her chin on top of his shoulder and looked at all the rides again. Anyone of them were fine with her, really. As long as she didn't have a hangover she could do pretty much anything.

She was surprised at the amount of kids that were here from her own school. Usually they were too busy playing sports or doing other things. Like partying or 'being too cool' for this. It didn't really bother her much anyways. Though, the jocks might end up causing some trouble if they were in that kind of mood. At least Michael would, but she couldn't see him around, which was probably a good thing.

How did one go about proving things like that? And that innocent little smile she tried pulling with him was not working because he knew just how devious she could be. Seriously, underwear descriptions did not count as small talk! It was distracting and hot and just not fair. She cheated hardcore. Yet he found he enjoyed the description a lot so he couldn’t complain too much. “Oh right because that’s totally going to make you want me, right? Please, you know it’s not the same,” He laughed and nudged her playfully. Guys could be hot as hell to girls, but describing their underwear definitely did not affect them the same way it did when they described their underwear to guys. It just was two completely different things.

Ashton didn’t do well with the whole picking things out because he was an indecisive person. So they were both at a loss. He did eeny meeny miny mo in his head and finally picked the most boring ride…of course. “Well, that didn’t work like it was supposed to…unless you want to ride the carousel?” Of course it was kind of romantic, but it also had a bunch of kids surrounding it and he wasn’t sure how much she’d like that. He kept his arm wrapped around her lower back and looked down at her. “You overrule my suggestions so it’s really up to you.”

Sophie wrapped her arms around his neck and looked up at him with a smile. ''Of course it's the same. I mean, Avengers boxers?'', she said and pretended to be swooned. Okay, maybe it wasn't quite the same, but that didn't mean he didn't have a few tricks up his sleeve tat he could use. Not that she'd tell him or anything. She wouldn't want him to use anything against her. He had to figure it out, just like she did! She stood up on her toes and kissed the tip of his nose. ''Besides... It's not like you have to do anything to make me want you.'', she whispered and chuckled before turning around.

Well, she couldn't deny that he was that typical guy that became everyone's doormat. She wasn't quite sure how she felt about that, since she didn't want to abuse it, but at times it could be hard when he left every decision to her. ''Let's try this another way. Which one is your favorite?'' She didn't feel like it was fair if she was the one to decide everything. He had a say in things, even if he wanted her to decide. His opinion mattered to her, and she didn't want to make him feel like he wasn't heard.

Ashton scoffed and rolled his eyes, "Oh yeah I'm sure that's the sexiest thing you've ever pictured huh?" Puh-leeze. He knew that it wasn't as hot, he wasn't stupid. He just had no sexual draw, nothing that made girls automatically want to bang him. Whatever tricks he had, were far up into the shoulder part of his shirt, lost and never to be found. Girls always seemed to know how to make a guy tick, but it wasn't that simple for guys like him that had no idea what the hell they were doing when flirting, let alone trying to be sexy. Lack of confidence was probably his issue. Actually, he knew it was, but he was slowly building that confidence back up. It just took some time. He smiled as she turned around and for once his face didn't catch fire!

Being a doormat was good and bad in many ways as far as he was concerned. It kept him from dealing with confrontation, but at the same time people did walk all over him. But he wasn't a doormat in every situation. Very rarely someone found a way to get to him and made him angry enough to actually want confrontation. One of those situations would be if anyone ever messed with people he cared about, well, he'd rage (funny picture right?). "Uhm. Ferris Wheel? I guess. I mean I've only ever ridden the lame rides," He said with a laugh.
