One advantage of arriving in this school in early august was that it gave Jack novel time to do whatever he felt like. It was an opportunity to get to gauge the vibe of the place, so he didn’t seem like a complete noob when classes started. He’s pretty much exploded everywhere on campus except the girl’s dorm…but that was all in due time.

The place seems like what he would have expected, nothing really stunned him. Expect for the disappointment of discovering that the library had no graphic novels, or dirty books to speak of. But hey, you have to take the rough stuff with the smooth sometimes.

On the morning in question, Jack woke up uncharacteristically early….12 O’clock. And as always his roommates felt the bizarre need to get ridiculously early, to the point where he barely even saw them. As you can imagine Jack’s heart bled at that fact. But for now, it was time for Jack’s usual post-wake up ritual of heavy mental music at full volume. Nothing like thrashing to a band that delightfully called themselves “3 inches of Blood” at ear bleeding volume to shake off the cobwebs and get you ready for the day ahead. Jack was in the middle of jumping up and down on his dorm bunk in a frenzy when there was a knock on his bedroom door.

“Sod off!” Jack shouted over his music as he took another leap. “I’m busy!”

As much as Lux enjoyed music, she didn't like loud, annoying music. At least not when she was trying to focus on something else. Like reading. Or thinking. There was a time for everything, and noon was not the time for loud, blasting music. But apparently, someone didn't share the same line of thoughts as she did. And that's how she found herself walking down the boys dorm hall. With her arms wrapped around her waist, and her eyes at the ground she tried locating the room which the music seemed to come from. If it wasn't bad enough that most of her friends were obnoxious boys, she now had to be here. Out of all places.

At first, she tried knocking on the dorm door. But of course, there was no answer. How typical. She then tried checking if the door was unlocked. She bit her lip as the door opened and peeked inside. No one. But this was clearly the source of the music, so there had to be someone around. She took a few wary steps inside, already regretting her decision to come here. She placed another knock on one of the bedroom doors, where the music seemed to be blasting from.

''Sod off!'', a boy shouted. ''I'm busy!''

What a joyful creature. So polite and all. ''Yeah well, so was I until you ruined it with your oh-so quiet music.'', she snarled. Okay. She wasn't exactly being polite herself. Not that she expected him to hear her or anything, but that didn't matter. She kept knocking on the door, and hopefully he'd take a hint and turn down the volume, or he'd come outside and she'd share a piece of her mind. Haha. Ha.

Wow. How rude can one person be? Here Jack was trying to enjoy his traditional waking up ritual of trash metal, just to get the old blood and some woman comes along (Who just happened to be in the boys dorm…pervert.) and tells him to turn it down, throwing his positive vibes completely off for the day. What was the world coming to?

Jack stopped jumping up and down for a moment and threw an annoyed look at the door.

“Oh gee, I’m sorry…Mom. I didn’t know it was against the rules for a young ragamuffin to enjoy life in his own dorm room. What is this? Nazis Germany? Communist Russia? North Korea? Hey! Here’s an idea, why don’t you un-bunch your panties and jog on?!”

Well he couldn't have put it more nicely then that.

Lux rolled her eyes at what he said and let out a slight annoyed sigh. ''Oh, grow up and stop acting so patronizing. Have you ever heard about respecting others? I doubt so, since you oh so clearly think you've done nothing wrong, blasting your music without even caring how it affects everyone else's day.'' She scoffed and wrapped her arms tighter around her body. What a brat. ''So why don't you get off your high horse and, oh I don't know... Think about someone other than yourself?'' She gave the door a kick and took a step back.

Hopefully this idiot would find it in his apparently oh so selfish heart to stop this noise so everyone else could get on with their day. Seriously. She was not in the mood to listen to some childish brat rant about his needs and whatever else was going on in his head.

'Oh, grow up and stop acting so patronizing. Have you ever heard about respecting others? I doubt so, since you oh so clearly think you've done nothing wrong, blasting your music without even caring how it affects everyone else's day.''

What the hell was wrong this chick? And why the hell did she insist on being so abrasive when Jack was doing his utmost to naught but a gentleman to the irritated woman. It seemed like the girl wasn't going to listen to reason, as she stormed into this room.

stunned that this girl would be so forceful. Jack quickly jumped off his bed and approached the girl with his hands raised defensively.

“Woah, woah, woah! First off, you never kick in the dorm room door, for all you knew I could have been bollocks naked for all you knew....pervert! If I just randomly kicked a girl’s dorm room open I would be kicked out of here like that!”

Jack paused for a moment. Before continuing in a calmer, more diplomatic voice.

“Ok look, maybe we got off on the wrong foot here. I mean with term starting in a few weeks I think everyone is a little stressed. Let’s start over, deal?”
