Name:
Romeo Diggory Buckland.
Nicknames:
Romeo, Diggy, Diglett.
Age:
Sixteen (16).
Orientation:
Heterosexual.
Desired Rank/Job:
Student.
Powers:
Armored Skin. Romeo’s cells, particularly those along his skin, have the ability to produce a mucus-like secretion that, when in contact with the air, hardens to form a metal-esque shell around Romeo’s body. The composition of the said shell is currently unknown; it is believed to be an alloy though, as traces of certain metals, particularly heavy metals and those normally not found in the human body, have been identified within the matrix. The alloy shows properties similar to the platinum family, namely: density similar to osmium, corrosive-resistance like iridium and has a luster that’s between the two (playing between a silvery blue cast and a silvery white one; though at times it’s seen to be similar to platinum – grayish white).
The shell grants Romeo limited invulnerability to heat and cold, some form of physical durability and to some extent, enhanced strength. He’s shown to almost double his weight and gain at least half a foot in height when he activates his ability. However, when he is in such a shell, his sense of touch decreases immensely, rendering him almost numb at times.
His transformation is an all-or-nothing phenomenon; he can’t simply change his right arm and not change his left leg. It takes an average of 0.05 seconds for him to be fully encased in the said shell. Barring its initial manifestation, such a form needs conscious control, such that when he is rendered unconscious, the shell would disintegrate. The shell does not extend to his immediate clothes, which means his transformations have a tendency to rip whatever covering he has, much to his chagrin.
When he returns to his non-armored form, only some of the secretions are reabsorbed into his body, while the others disintegrate to his surroundings. Thus he needs to regularly take in supplements to recover lost metals, else they turn to his more important minerals such as iron and calcium. With his current level of training he can only stay in such a form for thirty minutes, after which he’d be extremely weak and most likely not be able to do anything for the next two days. (He does hope it’ll improve in a while). His power also grants him some tolerance to heavy metals, as they are immediately rerouted by his body to be used as further source for his shell. It hasn’t been tested fully how much his body can take, but it’s been assumed that it’s between twice to three times as much as a normal human can.

A lot, as he has injured himself in more than one occasion, but none significant enough for a special mention.
General Appearance:
Romeo carries himself in a rather confident way – stomach in, chest out, back straight and with a bit of a swagger in his walk. He’s rather sure of himself and it just somehow flows out. He stands at a good five foot ten and a half (the half is important, as usual), and is still expecting to grow a bit more over the past years. His body is lean and fit due to the work he’s done so much around his caravan, not because of some fancy workout routine most boys his age do. His hands are quite calloused, evidence of the hard work he’s endured for almost two decades.
The boy’s hair is naturally curly, and he rather likes them that way. He doesn’t really pay much attention to how he looks like, so rarely does he comb or pretty his hair up. When straightened, they’d go down at least until his shoulders.
Clothing-wise, Romeo’s very lax. He’s mighty casual and laid back, preferring loose clothes over the skinny, tight-fit trend that seems to be sweeping the nation. He also abhors shoes; he hates wearing them with a passion. He feels really constrained when he’s in them, and prefers wearing flip flops or sandals, even going barefoot at times, than having his toes locked inside animal skin.
As stated earlier, when Romeo uses his powers, he gains considerable mass and quite the height. His armor has no evident joints or breaks, looking as if it really is Romeo’s skin. It can shine quite differently depending on the light – going from silvery blue to silvery white to grayish white luster. When he transforms, his eyes are also covered in a thin, albeit just as durable, sheet, completely masking his iris and his eye appear in a uniform white color. A generous coating also appears in his hair, which means they’re just as durable as the rest of his body is.
Personality:
The first thing you’d notice about Romeo is that air of confidence he has around himself. From his gaze to his gait, one could see that he has that healthy sense of self-esteem – not enough to make him too arrogant or self-centered, but just right that he won’t let anyone simply step on him. Such confidence, when combined with his incredibly strong and unyielding personality, can make him seem rather stubborn, defiant even. There’s clearly no stopping him when he’s set his sights on something (someone even), even if everyone around him says that it’s wrong. He never really likes second guessing himself, almost always going with whatever decision he had made initially. Unfortunately though, he’s mighty impulsive, tending to dive in head first without thinking about long-term consequences. (And despite the number of times such actions have bitten him back in the past, it seems that he hasn’t learned anything from them).
Romeo is also mighty crafty. Growing up in a caravan has made him quite the handyman, learning from watching his father and uncles on how to fix, meld and build stuff from almost nothing. He couldn’t say that he’s the best, but he can make a radio work for two weeks or so before he has to tweak it some more again. Hands-on ability aside though, Romeo’s also rather crafty when it comes to making plans and such. One can even go as far to say that he’s quite the scheming kid. For example, he’s not one to do pranks on a daily basis, but when he decided to pull one on Othello, boy was he in for the prank of his life. He was in such a state of shock that he was just staring blankly in thin air for a day or two. (His older brother decided to make him pay for what he did though, something he definitely doesn’t want to talk about).
Your Vices
Likes:
* His familysans Othello.
* Knights, King Arthur and anything in between.
* Horses. They’re a knight’s best friend after all.
* The Wild. Well duh.
* Rivers and lakes.
* Ice cream. Especially if it has caramel syrup on it.
* Pulling and/or opening things apart.
* Being barefoot.
* String Quartets. He’s only heard pieces in them once or twice but he fell in love almost immediately.
* Whales. He’s only seen them on those picture books his mom has but he’s rather certain that they’re his favorite fish. (And yes, he doesn’t know they technically aren’t fish).
* Math, surprisingly. He’s not very good at it though.
Dislikes:* Othello (his brother). He’s a tool. A big tool.
*Shoes. They get too hot. They’re restrictive. They’re ugly. He could go on and on.
* Travelling by boat. Or by plane. Motion sickness is a pain in the arse.
* Concrete. Too cold for his feet. Stone’s much more manageable.
* Chairs. Or at least sitting on them for long periods of time.
* The cold.
* Facial hair. They look ugly on him.
* History and English. He does like reading short stories though.
* Thunderstorms and floods. It’s hard getting stuff together then have massive winds and waters blow them away.
* Conforming too much. He can bend, but only a bit. Too much would make him go wild.
* Video games. He always loses in them.
Strengths:
* Wilderness Survival. He can basically live sustainably should technology cease to be. H knows which to eat and which not to, which are beneficial and which are only for show.
* Physical activities. He’s not a pushover when it comes to sports and such. As long as he knows the rules, he can play it quite well. (Don’t expect him to get the rules within one round of explanation though).
* Imagining things. Romeo’s imagination is quite refined, as he lived without much TV and had to imagine those stories his parents and grandparents keep telling him about.
* Sewing. And knitting. Or any other threadwork one can think of. Being in charge of repairing stuff around the caravan taught you such things.
Weaknesses:
* Technology. Too complicated. Not to mention he’s far too stubborn to learn.
* Singing and dancing. Poor boy’s tone deaf and has two left feet.
* Anything that involves ties and suits.* Women
Fears:
* High buildings. (Or falling from them rather).
* Being stuck in his transformed state permanently.
* Being to heavy that he’d fall right through stuff, down to the center of the earth even.
Secret:
* He’s dreamed about leaving the caravan more than once. Not that he doesn’t like it in there (‘cause he does), it’s just that he thinks there’s something bigger possibly waiting for him.

History
Life in the caravan is tough, there’s no point sugarcoating that. Romeo enjoyed little to no luxuries, compared to the mountains his same-age peers did when they were younger. He was babied, yes, but he had to grow up much faster and mature earlier as he had to help in and around the camp. It wasn’t bad though, especially since working with his huge clan is so much fun. (He’s usually seen causing trouble around with Charlie and Nathan). Unlike those kids who are enclosed within the four walls of their house, Romeo’s play place seemed so huge and vast, endless even. He definitely would not trade his twig-swords for those loud and flashy toy guns any day.
Romeo learned how to read and write not only from his Grandma, but also from his mother. His mother was the daughter of a wealthy businessman; as such, Othello often refers to her love story with their father similar to those fairytale, happily-ever-after stories she frequently reads to them before they go to bed. While his brother was apparently unamused by such tales, Romeo clung on to them tightly, deeply wishing they’d come true to him too. It was these tales, plus the real-life example in his mother and father, that gave him this idealistic view of love – that it transcends boundaries, overcomes obstacles and other cheesy yadda-yadda that would’ve made Othello puke right now.
And as fate would have it, it is this particular idea about love that he has that helped bring about his manifestation.
Romeo was twelve back then, tugging beside his mother as they went to town to get some supplies. He was absentmindedly sucking on his lollipop (a treat given to him by his mom as he behaved well the other night) as his mom looked through the shelves of the said shop when a girl – brown hair, hazel eyes, maybe just a year or so younger – entered with her mother. Immediately Romeo was swept off his feet. He just stared at her for a good five or so seconds before his mom, unaware, tugged his arm, signaling him that it’s time to go.
He can’t help but think about her since then.
Every time they went through the said town, he’d go with the elders to see if he can catch a glimpse of the said girl. Unfortunately, whenever they came back, she was (as expected) not there to be found. At sixteen, he’s slowly thinking about letting go of such an obsession. If he doesn’t see her this time around, he’d stop all his nonsense.
And bam, she’s there. She’s grown quite a lot, but when he saw her, he could definitely say that she’s still that girl with the huge pink bow on her hair he saw four years ago. Better yet, she looked at him and smiled. Winked even. Romeo was in heaven.
In some unthinkable scheme, Romeo has managed to make his caravan stay a bit longer – about a week or so – all in hopes that he can know the said girl better. Hestalkedfollowed her the day he saw her again, got her name and all that, so all that he needs to do now is introduce himself.
Like that would be easy.
For four days he’s tried to approach her but all attempts failed. Mostly because he got too nervous to even approach her. Unfortunately for him, time’s all but running out. On the fifth day, he heard that his family’s finally fixed the problem he ‘accidentally’ caused and that they’d be leaving tomorrow early morning. It’s now or never for him then.
He couldn’t have foreseen that the next few events would unfold like a cheesy, cliché movie scene though.
He was on his way to the said girl’s house, complete with a handful of flowers he picked himself, when a loud honking caught his attention. He turned around and saw a car on the road, and judging from its speed and the way it snaked through the streets, it’s out of control. He would’ve gotten out of its way already, had he not seen the object of his affection right at its trajectory. And unfortunately for her, she has her headphones on, so she (possibly) can hear nothing. Without a moment to spare, Romeo dove in and pushed her out of the way and waited for his doom.
Fortunately for him, it didn’t come.
His powers suddenly kicked in, his skin suddenly being encased in some sort of armor. The impact stopped the car in its tracks, but unfortunately transferred all its momentum to Romeo and sent him flying at least thirty feet to the next building. Lucky for him his power still held on, else he’d be dead.
The next thing he knows he woke up at a local clinic, with his parents talking with someone who looked just like the guy who took Autie away. Damn. Much like Autie, he didn’t want to go. But his parents, and the rest of his family, insisted.
Then again, this might be their way of telling him that he has to get Autie out. Soon.
