Wanted: The Kid He Didn't Know He Had

So with Stefan's lifestyle, it was bound to happen that he would get a girl or two pregnant along the way.
Name: Totally up to you. Even the last name doesn't have to match Stefan's.
Age: Up to you, but I was thinking having them Hammel-aged would help give a reason as to why he/she/they are in Stefan's life now.
Power: Up to you, but again I think having them powered would help with the story of why his/her/their mom decided to tell them about Stefan.
Play-by: Sky's the limit here. They should look at least a little like Stefan though. Or a lot. Up to you.
History: Stefan isn't exactly the role model for fatherhood. Although he would try his best an alcoholic flirt is not what most mother's hope to raise their children. So for that, or other reasons, the mother of this child/children decided not to ever let Stefan know that she was pregnant. Or gave birth. Whether the kid/kids knew about Stefan is up to you, but until now there has been no real contact between them.
I was thinking that perhaps the child/children manifested and the mother asked Stefan to either let him/her/them move in or just to look on him/her/them. Of course that doesn't have to be it. Maybe the mother is sick, died, of the child/children had a fight. I'm totally up for ideas.
Also, you may be wondering as to why I keep saying he/she/them. The reason for this is because last night I was chatting in the c-box and the idea of Stefan having children who were gestalts came up and I thought it would be hilarious.
