Stuck With You (Izzy)

Why the fuck had she gone on this retreat bull shit? Why? What was the point in it? She didn't have any friends to hang out with. She didn't like people. She could be outside any day she wanted to. So what in the hell was she doing on this trip? She loved camping, she loved being outdoors with more things to do than just absorb the nature. Besides, there were so many more things to throw at anyone who decided to screw with her when she wanted to be alone. The only person she could even tolerate to be around was Parker and even that was sporadic.

But of course, Mother Nature fucking hated her and decided to be a bitch. It was downright pouring outside. Everything was drenched and they were all stuck inside their cabins, though a few guys had come over to the girls and vice versa. It left Dex with very little to do. She settled for just sitting on her cot, allowing her ability to have some fun with a few of the people around her. Now that it was being forced to stay inside, her ability got restless and started poking at everything. Everyone was getting really pissy which only seemed to make Dextra smirk. If she was going to be miserable, so was everyone else.

A group of girls and the few guys were playing spin the bottle (a somewhat clean version since there were chaperones keeping a close watch) and as one of the guys leaned in to kiss a girl, her ability nudged him a bit and they clocked heads instead. She let out a short laugh and with her free mental hand she tossed a bouncy ball off the wall and caught it. Boredom was a telekinetic's worst nightmare.

And to make matters worse...she was stuck with her sister in the same cabin. Fuck life.

Unlike her sister, Izzy was happy about coming here. She too loved camping and nature, and seeing as how many people were going, it would have been stupid of her not to come. It was a great way of meeting new and old people and bonding with them in another setting than school. This gave people the ability to feel a little more free and let a little more loose. And even if Izzy didn't mind the rain, it seemed like most other people did, and the only way Izzy could bond with people, was to be where they were. So that meant staying inside until the rain stopped. Unless someone actually wanted to go outside. She didn't really care either way.

She watched the boys and girls play spin the bottle with an amused smirk. Once in a while it was a lot more fun observing rather than participating. But in all honesty, the main reason she didn't join was because her childish sister kept ruining the game for everyone else by throwing a fit. If she was so miserable, couldn't she just have stayed back at the school? Or at least stop making everyone as miserable as she clearly was? God, she was such a pain in the ass sometimes. It was really no wonder she had no friends with that kind of attitude. If she kept it up, she was going to end up a 90 year old virgin with twenty-seven cats. Unless someone hired a hitman to kill her off, and at this rate, that wouldn't really surprise her.

''Are you doing this for attention, or is your life really that pathetic?'', she asked as she walked past Dextra. Dex could throw things at her all she wanted, because Izzy could just fire back some hallucinogenic dust at her and hopefully make her crawl around drooling, not knowing where she was anymore.

Dextra didn't have a problem with her attitude unless she was given a reason. All of the people that were in her cabin annoyed her with their trivial problems. The staff was keeping too close of an eye on them, they couldn't drink, they weren't allowed to share cabins with the opposite sex; get the fuck over it. She understood teenage hormones as well as anyone (even if she got really uncomfortable by the whole thing). She knew what it was like having the urge to do something. Despite what her sister might think or know, she's felt that way. And when she thought of that time, her thoughts were brought back to Parker and she sighed. Why wasn't he here? She should have dragged his ass to the retreat, kicking and screaming.

Bouncing the ball of the wall once more she rolled her eyes. Izzy was always so pissy when it came to ways of Dextra entertaining herself. At least she didn't go around drugging people for the fun of it while flitting around like a little fucking fairy. If anyone was childish, it was her. All she did was bitch and complain about Dex. Dextra at least ignored her sister completely and didn't bother complaining about her. That would require actually giving a fuck what her sister did and thought. Which she definitely didn't.

With a faint smirk still across her lips, she answered in a bored tone, "If either of those things were accurate, you and I would have more in common. But don't worry, they're not. I'm entertaining myself because not everyone is as easily amused by a spinning coke bottle as you are." And watching other people make out. Seriously, she didn't want to know what her sister was into if she enjoyed watching other people do that sort of thing. Fucking nasty.

Izzy returned the smirk and chuckled as she leaned slightly in. ''Oh yeah, that's exactly why I'm the one constantly poking my ability at others.'', she whispered and pulled back again. At least she didn't run around throwing dust at people and show off her wings. And if her sister had had any sense of humor at all, or managed to get past her head which was clearly stuck in her own ass, she'd see that spin the bottle wasn't all about making out. Even if a lot of people tended to push it that way. Why she even bothered conversing (and in this case, arguing) with her sister, was pretty impossible for even her to understand. She was such a sourpuss and it didn't seem like she knew how to enjoy herself without annoying others. Maybe she had some sort of perverted, sadistic fetish?

Seeing as how Dex was acting like she always was, Izzy wasn't going to bother. She wasn't worth it. At all.

Izzy walked over to her bag and pulled out her phone, checking it for any new messages. God, the reception was horrible out here. With a sigh she let her phone drop back into the bag. She walked over to Dex and sat down next to her, leaning back against the wall. Sometimes, she really wished she and Dex had a better relationship. It would have been nice having a sister to talk to about everything going on. Sure, none of them had made any attempts at making their relationship better, and she didn't really see it happening anytime soon. When had it all become so freaking screwed up? ''Do you ever think about mom?'', she asked silently.

"No need to be jealous, Iz. Not all of us can be blessed with a useful ability," She said with a shrug. Even though she hated her ability and wanted to be rid of it. If Izabelle wanted to know what it was like to have an ability that constantly acted out on its own, she could fucking have it. Dex would kill for an ability as easy as pixie wings and hallucinogenic dust. Seriously what did she have to complain about? It wasn't like she had this explosive ability that fed off of her unstable emotions. At least Izzy could say that she wasn't nearly as screwed up as Dex. Even she could admit to that.

Dextra continued tossing the ball around, ignoring everyone else once more. If she hadn't already checked her phone a few times too many, she'd probably have tried getting a hold of Parker again. Who'd have thought she'd actually miss his over-confidence? She did though, a lot. It was so stupid that he had this kind of affect on her, but seeing as how she kind of gave into it, she could be to blame just as much as he was. And to think, the one thing that Izzy might be able to help her with and she refused to even bring it up to her sister.

Nah, Dex didn't see a point in trying to get close to someone that would never get her. And vice versa. All they did was piss each other off because they were so different, if they forced it too much, they'd have an even worse relationship. So Dextra just kept from making things worse by avoiding any interaction with Izzy that she could. Sometimes it may have been nice to have a sister to talk to about things, but it would have been better if she wasn't so envious of the one that she had been given. Honestly, Dextra hated Izabelle the most because she was everything that Dex could never be.

Her question had the ball freezing in mid-air and she took a deep breath before resuming. "Do we really have to talk about it?" If there was one thing that Dextra couldn't take with a smirk, it was discussing her mother and how she had been taken out of the twins' life far too early. She knew it took its toll on Izzy, too, but Dex figured it would have been worse had it been their father.

''Yeah, because having a ability you only use to piss others off with is soooo useful.'' Having wings and dust wasn't all it was cracked up to be. They were painful, both getting in and outside of her body, and whenever they were out, they were mostly in the way of everything. And her dust, not that, that was probably the worst of it all. She wasn't able to constantly control when she let it out or not, and she didn't really enjoy drugging people down. It didn't really help that she couldn't control what they saw under the influence of her dust. Most of the time, it was a real pain in the ass. And she enjoyed being underwater a lot more than being in the air.

Not that it really mattered either way. A lot of people complained about their powers, but they couldn't really do a whole lot about it. If anyone ever made a machine that could help them get rid of these powers, Izzy would probably be the first person in line.

As for their relationship, Izzy couldn't really say there wasn't a point in trying because they wouldn't understand each other, because really, it wasn't like they had even tried. It just seemed like they both assumed it was a lost cause and never bothered trying. It was really sad actually, but if Dex wanted it that way, Izzy wasn't going to push the issue. She just wished Dex would stop blaming her for being who she was. It wasn't like she could help it, and surely, she wasn't going to start acting like someone she wasn't just to please her sister. If Dex didn't like her, there wasn't much Izzy could do about it.

Keeping her gaze focused on the ball, Izzy let out a sigh. ''I guess not.'' Their mother's death had surely hurt, and it wasn't really a consolation that their father was still alive, because even as much as she loved their dad, it wasn't near the same thing. Having a mother around to talk to about all the issues that came with being a teenage girl would have been pretty good. Especially now that they were both old enough to fall in love and experience everything that came with. Talking to their dad about things like that was just.... Awkward.

"It works on you doesn't it?" She said in the same bored tone that she often used when talking to people that she didn't much care for. Not that she didn't care about Izzy, of course she did (though she denied it as often as she could), but her sister just wasn't one of her favorite people. How could she be? Everything about Dextra irked her just as much as she irked Dex. This wasn't all one-sided as far as irritation went, no matter how much both of them wanted to believe it was.

Their relationship was a lost cause as long as neither of them fought for it. Dextra didn't have the patience to fight for something that she didn't believe would work out anyway. Even when they were children they both misunderstood each other. Izzy thinking that Dextra ruined all of her stuff maliciously when really she just didn't understand why everything had to be so perfect. The way that Dextra had grown up, she'd been under the impression that all Izzy wanted was perfection in her life because everything she had and did was perfect to everyone else. Dex wasn't perfect. Therefore, she didn't fit into Izzy's life. She didn't know when that realization had hit, but when it did, her mind ran with it and she shut herself off from the idea of having any form of relationship with her sister.

Dextra set the ball down beside her, pulling her knees up to her chest and sighed. "Of course I think about her..." She answered quietly, fixing her eyes on her black-polished fingers.

Izzy had never once viewed herself as perfect, or her sister as imperfect. They were different and had different opinions and views on everything, which made the clash together like a pair of angry cows, fighting over the last bit of grass. Neither of them were perfect, but that didn't mean it was a bad thing. In most cases anyways. To Izabelle it seemed like Dextra was constantly trying to make things worse for herself, whether it was for attention or fun, by ruining everything for everyone. It seemed like she didn't like that people could be happy, and therefore she had to meddle. Sure, she knew that wasn't always the case, but she didn't really open up enough for Izzy to know the true reason behind it. After all, they had never been close. Not even when they were kids. How a pair of twins could be that different... It was rather comical. All the other twins Izzy had met was so alike, and they were such good friends. It made Izabelle feel rather jealous.

Izabelle nodded slowly as her sister spoke again. ''I do too.'', she said silently and closed her eyes, her head still against the wall.

Dextra chewed on her lower lip and glanced over at her sister. They really were different. Nothing similar about their looks. It was like they both got different features from their parents. Izzy got their mother's blonde hair and their father's darker blue eyes whereas Dex got their father's dark hair and their mother's icy blue eyes. Dex didn't know where she fit in as far as personality went though. Abigail had always been real involved, so had Marcus. Dex might have been if she wasn't so easily pissed off by other people's ignorance. Even in independent sports they had teams that were there for helping. She just wasn't a people person the way that the rest of her family was. And she always looked at the differences between her and them. When she was younger, she even questioned her parents about whether she was adopted or not. It wouldn't have surprised her.

Abi made it perfectly clear though that she had birthed Dextra and that she watched her grow up. Still, she wondered what happened to make her so different from everyone else. They were all so nice and pleasant to everyone, she couldn't even talk to anyone without saying something offensive. It wasn't like she was constantly trying to make people miserable, but her outlook on life wasn't exactly a bright one. People that talked to her expected her to say things that weren't how she saw them and were disappointed.

She looked up at the ceiling and sighed. Well what was she supposed to say now? That both of them missed her? That was established. That at least Izzy had someone who actually loved her like a daughter instead of a tick? She didn't know what to say. "Wonder what she'd think of us now," She settled for. Dex didn't really want to know though. She had a feeling her mother would be sorely disappointed in all that she had become. After all, everyone else seemed to be.
