Thoughts on the History of Meta-Humans

Well, I'm back? I can't deny that it feels good to be returning to the Institute; time spent away has been productive, but I've had enough scrambling in muddy holes and pouring through libraries of emaciated tomes to last me for this lifetime. From now on, unless I hear rumour of something major, I'm going to let the research come to ME for a change.
The frustrating fact is that I've been able to uncover virtually nothing of the past involving meta-humans. There's always rumour, and many people claim to have seen or experienced meta-humanity, but the human memory is ultimately a fallible thing, much of what people think they 'remember' is foggy, meaningless tripe. It's not like a solid object, which has clearly defined memories of certain things depending on it's nature, the animal mind has a much more fluid constitution. Sure, I know what to look for, and how to weave that bit of magic that gets rid of some of the fog, but I'd still take an energy-absorbent object over a person any day.
Glad to report that the new combination of meds seems to be having the desired effect. Tested ability to define memories to be overwritten during retrocognition, and I believe the drugs have had no effect on my skills.
Well, I'm only twenty minutes away now, so I should probably wrap this up.
