General Appearance: Kolby is of a stockier, shorter build, standing only 5' 8" but weighing a more muscular 190 pounds. He is often seen in cargo shorts, t-shirts, and converse, with ever-present earbuds stuffed underneath thick, wavy light brown hair.
His eyes are a light blue, and are nearly always inwardly focused - although he has no problem talking to people, whenever he is alone he tends to become very quiet and focused - usually consumed in computer code or music running through his head. He is never without his alienware laptop, and whenever he's not doing homework he's either writing computer programs or messing around in a DJing app.
Often active at night, Kole strives to be a musician, and is currently writing a computer program that can predict which house/dubstep/rap/whatever music goes together perfectly for the optimum clubbing or dancing experience.
Personality: Kolby's a quiet, sweet, easy going type of guy, with a song constantly playing in his head. Although he doesn't have a problem starting up a conversation, he often gets so caught up in his own thoughts that he doesn't notice anyone around him.
He likes friends, and likes being social, but only in small groups - because large groups tend to overwhelm his language center, Kolby prefers a setting in which he knows everyone, and there won't be a lot of background noise - because he understands music much easier than conversation, friends will often get ignored if music is playing (music without lyrics, I mean - lyrical music confuses him - he only likes instrumentals)
Kolby doesn't consider himself much of a ladies' man, but that doesn't mean romantic ventures allude him. He can be a bit of a playful flirt, but isn't quite sure how to be a boyfriend. The physical part, sure, but the intense emotional part, not so much. Because he conveys his emotions through music most often, it takes a special person to understand him and that can communicate in the same way - anything more than a superficial relationship is difficult.

History
Kolby grew up as a happy, only child of Doctor Michael Anders and kindergarten teacher Cora Allen-Anders. He lived a structured, quiet life with his family and always showed an intense enjoyment of music, as well as an aptitude for technological devices. However, his parents were truly surprised when, at age 14, while Kolby was going through puberty, he simply stopped talking in English. When asked a question or being spoken to, he would responded either by humming complex musical melodies from classical songs his parents didn't recognize, or would speak in long lines of binary sequences. He spoke as though he were making perfect sense to himself, but to his frightened parents, they were immediately concerned and began calling for help. It was only a matter of days before a requuter came to his home and helped explain to understanding and concerned parents what their son was going through.
For Kolby's first six months at Hammel, he continued not being able to speak English - in that time, he seemingly had to relearn the English language, because the manifestation of his powers were so sudden and all encompassing, that it temporarily nudged out his ability to speak in a language that other humans understand. Today Kolby commands a full grasp of the English language, though oftentimes has trouble when stressed or upset. During these times he usually switches between English and Binary, sometimes stopping completely to let the music in his head take over until he can collect himself.
