Oh Brother (Zach, Ollie)

Although John and Jake didn't live at Hammel, they usually had a few breaks between classes to hang around. Even if the twins could legally drive (and lord help us all when that happens) they couldn't make it back to their house and back to class in time. And while they sometimes tried to benefit from the time by doing homework in the library, they were so easily distracted that that rarely happened.

So today they were heading over to the dorms, figuring they could lounge around in the common area or find someone to help them cure their boredom. If all else failed, at least there was a TV in there.

Walking into the building, they smiled as they heard familiar voices. It seemed that their brother had come to pay his friend a visit. They raced around the corner to find Zach and Ollie. "Spiderman! Cyclops!" "Spiderman! Cyclops!" they yelled as they turned into the room the two friends were in, grinning like devils.

Zach had started making it a habit to come see Ollie every other time he was in Pilot Ridge(which was practically every other day) if just to give his best friend the company of someone who wasn't only just hitting puberty or someone who thought they were still a kid enough to still live on campus. Really, why would anyone past the age of 18 still choose to live in the dormitories?

The two buddies had just come out of Oliver's room and situated themselves in the 1st floor commons with the intent to commandeer the television for their own nefarious purposes. Like watching boring "adult" shows.

With Sterling Archer back-talking to his mother in the background, Zachary felt the oncoming wave of doom as he heard the dual voices of a pair of trouble-making gestalts. He rolled his eyes back then looked over to Oliver. "Ollie, it's been nice knowing you but, I have to go kill my brothers now. You'll visit me in jail, right?" With that, Zach grabbed on of the throw pillows on the couch, turned, and threw it at his little brothers. "I told you not to call me that!"

Oliver was incredibly thankful that Zach was visiting him so often. He thought he might go crazy otherwise; being a dorm monitor was, for the most part, a somewhat easy and even boring job when nothing was happening. But it could also be irritating, frustrating, and downright scary what some of the kids tried to get away with. Zach kept him sane.

He was absolutely fine with just hanging around and doing nothing more than zoning out to the television when familiar voices rang out (was it just Oliver, or was his hearing getting better?) from across the room. His teeth immediately sunk into his lip as he hissed, his shoulders tensing with anger.

It had not been long enough since the accident for him to appreciate that sort of nickname. It wasn't the first time he had heard it, and if it had been from anyone other than his best friend's relatives he was certain they would be dead by now. As it was, he simply turned his glare towards Zach, replying,"Don't worry, I think we'll be going there together." Taking Zach's lead, he grabbed another one of the pillows and threw it as hard as he could at the little fuckers, hoping he would smash one of them in the head. "Bloody little wankers!"

Although it may not appear so, the twins did not have a death wish. True, Zach was a little...creepy sometimes. And they loved to annoy him. But he was still their brother after all, so they had to love him. Ollie was close enough to being almost something of a cousin. So while they knew neither man was likely to enjoy the superhero titles, it was all in good fun.

So were death threats. In Bishop brother speak, it was as close to "Love you" that the twins were likely to get.

They giggledlaughed as both Zach and Ollie tossed pillows their way, dodging them while grinning like maniacs. "Aren't you supposed to keep us safe?" John asked. "Not try to kill us?" Jake added.

The brothers tossed the pillows back before plopping down on couch across from them. "Some dorm monitor you are" "Some brother you are" At times like these when John and Jake spoke at the same time but with slightly different ideas, it could get a little confusing. Although they each knew what the other had said, sometimes other people didn't. Still Zach was probably used to it by now.

"How are you girls today?" John asked, picking up a phrase he'd heard somewhere else.

Yes, indeed. While the threat to kill his younger siblings still lingered in the air, Zachary did love his siblings enough to not do more than just threaten them with certain death. Over and over again, he had told them to not call him that stupid nickname, yet still they persisted. Had they not been his brothers, Zachary definitely would have done more than just throw a pillow.

However, that anger was less because of the "spiderman" comment and more for the "cyclops" one, which was overall just completely insensitive. "Keep talking like that and you'll be having a few extra visitors in your room tonight," Zach said sharply with a pointed finger. He wasn't sure if the twins understood that Zach could only sense spiders, not control them, but either way, it was a tactic that had been effective against John and Jacob for years.

Zachary rolled his eyes. "Just grand. Don't you have homework you're supposed to be doing?" Rather than bothering the two adults who were just trying to relax for once.

Ollie, on the other hand, very much did want to throw something more than a pillow, but that was all he really had at the moment. And, of course, he loved Zach, and through him, had to have a grudging relationship with the twins, so killing them would proooobably not go over very well. It still didn't mean he was okay with them giving him a nickname over this damn disability that had ruined his life, but they obviously thought it was.

At their questions, he gritted his teeth and sat back hard against the couch with his arms crossed over his chest, giving them his darkest glare (which, after working with kids for several months and just from his life in general, was pretty intimidating). "You don't technically live here, so you're not under my protection," he determined, shooting a look at Zach. He smirked at the threat, knowing it was fake, but amused by it nonetheless.

Though, when John spoke up again, he rolled his eyes along with his friend. "Fine until you brats decided to show up." He nodded as Zack mentioned homework. "I'm working, so you two should be too," he growled. Okay, so work mostly consisted of doing nothing more than just being there, but he was still getting paid for it.

At the extra visitor's comment, both brothers froze and wore identical petrified looks. The twins had never really understood the exact limits of their older brother's powers. But anything related to spiders was enough to turn them into angels.

"Sorry""Sorry" they mumbled, keep their heads down.

"Homework, is for home"John said, sticking out his tongue at his brother. Although the brothers had just as much trouble focusing when they were at home as they did when they were at school. There was just too much life to live to be doing homework.

"How much do you get paid anyways?" Jake asked. If they could get a job where they just laid around and chatted, maybe that would be something they could retire to after their shining career as stuntmen.

Zachary wasn't even sure they got it, what they did wrong. He knew their intentions were probably innocent, but... "Sorry for what?" he asked, giving them the evil eye. As their older brother, it was his job to at least make sure they understood their insensitivity. If they didn't, then it was definitely lecture time. Not that Zach was very good at giving lectures.

"Homework is for home," he repeated under his breath, rolling his eyes. "You know that's just an excuse people use when they don't want to do it." It was an excuse that he'd heard several times from other students when he was in high school...actually, no. He heard it from his own classmates as well. The ones who just barely passed their classes.

Oliver smirked at the twins' reactions to Zach's threat, glad to see it seemed to work. He'd have to laugh with his friend about it later; for now, he was still rather peeved. He curled his lip and looked away at their apology, too stubborn about his own hurt feelings to accept it just yet. Though, he raised a brow as Zach called them out on it, glad that his friend was so serious about something most people probably would have just laughed off. It was different for him! He was suffering with dealing with his loss of sight as it was.

"There are plenty of places around the school to study," he added after Zach, feeling the need to give his own input. "Dorms are probably one of the worst, actually." Too much chaos constantly going on. He would know. At Jacob's question, he crossed his legs and leaned back, resting his arms behind his head. "Enough," he replied vaguely. "And I have a place to live." He thought he knew why they were asking, though, and added,"It's not as easy as it may seem. I'm forced to put up with little gits like you." And not all of them were as easy to intimidate.
