Alista wasn't quite sure why she kept finding herself back at the park. All things considered, it really should be her least favorite place in the city - it had a big-ass stupid creek running through the middle and no technology other than what she brought with her, which were her least favorite things. Still, it was a good way to get away from people - or else meet random, weird, interesting people like that homeless fellow she had accidentally woken up a week or so ago. In any case, it seemed as if it was becoming one of her favorite places in the city,

The bright sun suggested the day was going to be quite a bit warmer than it was. Alista had stacked several jackets over each other to be warm enough to be outside. She had her earphones in and was browsing her phone while walking on the path - perhaps unwise, but she glanced up every so often to make sure she didn't run into anyone on the path or encounter anyone who seemed hostile. Still, this was a really good song, and it was tempting to just close her eyes and-

Electric shocks ran up her body as her foot made contact with the freezing water. Nonononononono... Alista's incoherent thoughts were drowned out by the pounding of her heart as the water seeped into her clothes and shocked her skin. Though perhaps irrational, her hydrophobia was powerful, and it felt more like her foot had been stuck in a spiked animal trap. She tried to yank her foot back only to find that it had been lodged in the rock. "AAAAAHHHHH!" Her ear-splitting shriek filled the air as panic set in.

Kamillia skated through the park, she liked how it was starting to get colder outside. It was nice when horseback riding, skateboarding, and taking her dogs out on walks. She sighed as she looked at all the happy people, and wondered why she wasn’t as happy as they were. These past few days she felt herself slip into a depression and she couldn’t place her finger on why. It was just a complete mystery to her…

What was a girl suppose to do when she was always sad and moody? She tried to act like everything was okay, but it wasn’t, and again she had no clue why… She had been happy a few months ago, very happy, nothing had been wrong. So what changed? Nothing, that was her one problem, nothing had changed…

Kam looked at where the shriek came from, and skated over there. Her titled her head in confusion as all she saw was a woman. However, as she came closer she was able to recognize the woman before her. “Alista?” She stopped her skateboard and just stood there when she got to the lake. “Are you okay?”

The panic clouded her mind, and she didn't notice Kamillia until she called out to her. Alista started, not expecting to hear the familiar voice call her name. Her head whipped up - and her foot slipped. Her whole body plunged downwards, hands catching her upper body on the bank while her other leg made contact with the water. A sudden, dull pain erupted in her ankle as the ligaments twisted unnaturally. Alista gasped, eyes widening, as the pain mingled with the electric shocks from the water's contact with her skin. Her heart was in a frenzy, determined to beat out of her sternum.

Kamillia's presence could have been comforting, but she was too wrapped up in panic to really register the significance of the face in front of her. Her eyes glanced up to look at Kamillia's, tears pricking at the edges. "Please help," Alista managed to gasp through the haze of pain and panic.

Kamillia’s eyes widen as she saw Alista fall. She hadn’t meant for the girl to fall… “damn it.” She muttered. “Okay hold on!” Her heart went out to the girl, how much pain was the girl in? She got off her skateboard, took off her beg, then wadded in the water. She really wasn’t sure what she was even doing, but figured the girl’s foot was stuck somewhere. She followed the girl’s legs and found her feet. Hunching over, she felt for the girl’s foot. Yeah, it was her foot, “Hold on.” Freeing her foot, Kam went back to Alista’s upper half.

She took a deep breath, and took ahold of the girl’s arm and wrapped it around her shoulder. “Okay, lean on me, and try to get up.” She knew the painful feeling of breaking bones, or twisting them. She was a skateboarder who didn’t wear anything to protect her. She had her fair injuries because of it.

"Okay hold on!"

Alista tried to calm her racing heart while she stood in the freezing water - or maybe it was white-hot, it didn't make much difference in terms of how it felt against her skin. The dull throbbing in her ankle continued, and it took all the self-control she had not to try to jerk it out of the rocks. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply, hands clenched so tightly her nails almost broke skin as she waited for Kamillia.

She momentarily felt hands against her ankle, letting her leg go limp so Kamilla could free it from the rocks. “Okay, lean on me, and try to get up.” Alista quickly obliged, wrapping her arm tightly around the other girl's shoulder and standing on her good leg. She hopped on that foot, wincing as the water splashed further up her leg while Kam half-dragged her out of the stream.

When Kam let her go, Alista just flopped down on the bank, hyperventilating for a few minutes and feeling her heart race. She closed her eyes as the panic slowly died down, though the sounds of the creek still set her on edge, feeling exhausted but also taut and ready to snap. The ability to think cogently slowly returned to her, and she turned her head to Kam. "Thank you," she said breathlessly, forgetting about her throbbing ankle for a moment.

Kam flopped onto the ground next to Alista. She looked at the woman before her, a bit worried. “Are you okay?” She sprained, twisted, and broke things, but for some reason Alista didn’t seem to have been going to through the same pain. She smiled “You’re welcome. I’m glad I came by when I did.” Since there was no one around, and not many people were inclined to help others.

“What happened? I mean I saw what happened…” She ran a hand through her hair, not really sure how to explain what she was trying to ask. So she went onto a different subject, “How’s your ankle? Do you want me to make sure it’s not broken.” Cause she knew how to tell if something was broken or not. She had, had enough broken bones to tell, and that could last a life time.

As her rampant heartbeat slowed, Alista's capacity for cogent thought returned to her. She slowly sat up, running a hand through her hair and closing her eyes to keep out the spinning world around her. God, she was dizzy... she bridged her nose and waited for her churning head and stomach to calm, Kam's first sentence not registering in her ringing ears.

“What happened? I mean I saw what happened…” While she still sounded slightly distant, Alista still heard it. Did Kam know about her hydrophobia? She wasn't sure how anyone could know her and not know about it - she had been so adamant about not swimming or going out on rainy days since her power manifested - but maybe she hadn't seen Alista in a situation where it would show. "I fell into the creek," she said simply, slightly embarrassed for the blatant oversight that had led to the whole situation. All she had to do was watch where she was going, dammit.

Oh, right, the ankle. As Kamillia drew Alista's attention back to her injury, the dull sense of pain returned. She clutched it gently, careful not to press it too hard. "Would you? That would be great," she responded sincerely.

She didn't blame Kam for the injury - sure, she had twisted her ankle when she looked up to see her - but, honestly, it probably would have happened anyways if Alista had been left in the creek for long enough. She was just glad Kam had come when she did.

Kam just waited patiently, well, she actually didn’t know about it. Like, how many people would want to go out in the rain? She sure as hell didn’t, well unless it was to obviously play in it, and dance in the rain, but that was not often, that or if she just got caught it in. “Yeah.. I got that part.. But you were kind of freaking out..” It didn’t even cross her mind that she was crossing a personal boundary at all. Kamillia and Alista were also casual friends, and Kam almost never asked anyone, even now to hang out. It was always, they asked her, unless it was something in particular, like when she asked Kimmy to go horseback riding, but that was more for the other girl’s benefit, not that she wouldn’t love to hang out with the girl. She was just really weird, and complicated when it came to her friends.

“Sure thing.” She moved closer to Alista, pulling up her jeans a bit, she started to feel around her ankle. Mentally trying to remember where certain bones were, because your ankle could easily get a fracture without you realizing it. “Nothing seems to be broken, or fractured. So I think it’s just sprained.” She sat back after pulled the girl’s jean leg back down. “If you want, I can help you get back home?” She knew the girl wouldn’t be able to walk anywhere with a sprained leg, she tried a few times, did not turn out so well at all.

“Yeah.. I got that part.. But you were kind of freaking out..” Kamillia said, looking slightly confused. Oh jeez, this is bizzare, Alista thought, putting her face in a palm while quaking with stress-laughter. She didn't know, did she? Wow, this must look so weird to her. God, Alista was just so fucking weird, wasn't she? I mean, how many other people scream upon merely contacting water? How many other people are so terrified of such a vital necessity of life? Ahaha I'm suck a fuckin' weirdo...

Her laughter died down after a moment along with her momentary inanity, and she said bluntly, "Yeah, I'm terrified of water. It's a side effect of my power. Speaking of which, can we move further away from the creek?" Even hearing the sound of running water was setting her on edge right then. Alista didn't mind talking about it that much because she knew that Kam wouldn't judge her phobia even if she thought it was really fucking strange. And, well, she probably would have found out eventually anyways, because water was (unfortunately) so omnipresent.

Alista carefully stretched out the leg with the sprained ankle, fighting the urge to tear off her soaked pant legs. She held still as Kam analyzed the injury, wondering how many times the girl herself would have had to get injured to so expertly determine whether something was broken or just sprained. She sure hoped Kam had enough expertise, since there was no way in hell Alista had the money to visit a doctor at that moment.

She sighed in relief as Kam announced that her ankle was just sprained. “If you want, I can help you get back home?” the girl offered. Alista smiled. Was Kam really willing to go so far out of her way for her, or did she just feel obligated to help her? "That... that would be great, if you have time. I don't want to get in your way if you had other things you wanted to do today," she responded, feeling like a bit of a burden. "Hey - thanks a lot, really. I'm glad you came around when you did." Alista smiled gratefully, glad to see her old friend again and feeling vaguely undeserving of her help. She had gotten into this whole mess though a stupid mistake, after all, hadn't she?

Well that explained a lot, she nodded. “Oh! Of course we can.” She placed the woman’s arm around her shoulder again, and walked father away from the water. “So it’s like how I’m claustrophobic, just your hydrophobic, or whatever it’s called for water.” Not a lot of people knew she was afraid of small spaces, and she really wasn’t sure why either, she guessed it was because one of her classmates in preschool looked her in a closest, and the teachers didn’t find her till an hour later. “Mine not a side effect to my power… Your kind of lucky you don’t have that memory..” Most people with phobias had a memory connecting to it, something that made them mentally scarred for life.

The girl had gotten injured a lot, and the Hammel doctor actually showed her the difference in a sprain, and a fracture or broken bone. She guessed they were a bit sick of seeing her around just for sprains… That or they actually cared about the delinquent and wanted her to know the difference for whatever caring reason. But she didn’t believe the later…

Kamillia was willing, she was always willing, she helped animals, why wouldn’t she help people? Not to mention, she’s been in this kind of situation before, where she had sprained her ankle and needed someone’s help… And yes, she has gotten sprains from doing really stupid things.”Nah, I don’t have anything to do today. That’s actually why I came out here to the park…” Alista was the last person who should feel like a burden to Kam, even though they weren’t close, Alista had always been her only real friend. She smiled, “No problem. But I guess it was just luck on your part. It’s interesting when things like this happen.”
