Wanted: Someone To Protect

Amazingly enough, Kodi actually has the capacity to be in a decent relationship with a person.

Specifically, if this person is youngish, probably female (but not necessarily), and reminds him of himself when he was younger.

I can see Kodi initially being put off by the person, but eventually growing on them until he becomes extremely, fiercely overprotective of them in everything.  This isn't any sort of romantic relationship - more like an intimidating older brother - and most of it will be based on the fact that he doesn't want the person to end up as screwed up as him.

So, all I really would need for the character is someone who is somewhat bookish or quiet, gets picked on, and perhaps has some struggle with sexuality/religious background.  It's nothing too exact, and it can  be an already made character, if the person fits!  But when Kodi gets attached to someone, he would protect them with his life, and fight tooth and nail for their well-being.

If you're interested in making a new character, that'd be awesome too! ^-^  Please let me know if you have any ideas/questions/interest/whatever!  I'd love to have at least SOMEONE who doesn't want to kill my boy XD

Perhaps Tori would work for this plot? She's not a flawless fit, but some aspects match up pretty well.

I'm not sure about sexuality, but she's struggled a lot with gender stuff - shes' a trans girl, and to this day isn't out to her parents. She was bullied a lot growing up, though that got a lot better when she got to Hammel. Because of all these things she's currently kind of shy and self-conscious, though I see her becoming a lot more self-confident as time goes on.

I had an idea in the works that she would come out to her parents over some break, and... things would not go so well. That could potentially overlap with this plot for Kodi - like, hearing about how that went brings out his protective side?

This definitely sounds plausible! I'm not sure how he would think of her at first, but he would be sympathetic (though grudgingly so, at least initially) about things not going well between her and her parents, and might do some sort of awkward not-so-comforting kind of comfort until he learned/cared more about actually looking out for someone.

I do want to make a note (for Tori or anyone else that might get involved) that this will probably be an almost unhealthy sort of protection, bordering on obsession eventually, once he gets really, really attached. Just for fair warning xD

I'm not sure if this has been fulfilled, but I would love to know more about what kind of character you'd want if you could get them. I would probably be willing to make a new character for you! I wouldn't mind an interesting plot like this! And if you wanted a really younger character, I have a good male, kind of. Not sure how the age difference would work in terms of romance...but it could also just be like an older brother thing.

If it's like a younger boy who is rather bookish, shy, and stays away from people, would that work? Michael himself does also often hurt himself, and he keeps it a secret or he just ignores it, so he'd be easy to become hyper-protective of, especially since he can literally blow things up. It might be an easier thing to care for him in that sense because if he twists an ankle or something, and can't really walk, having someone help him at least to the infirmary would be good, or to his room.

First of all, romance is definitely not going to be a part of it, because I have something planned for Kodi in that department anyway ^^ It'd definitely be an older-brother sort of thing.

The character I'm looking for would most likely need some sort of bad family-history in order to really get under Kodi's skin, because that's one of the few things that actually gets his sympathy for other people. That plus current-day bullying, and bookish behavior... It's just kind of hard for me to know until Kodi can interact with the person, which I know is not very helpful >.< And considering his usual lack of caring what other people do or think, I was pondering the idea of maybe this character sort of looking up to Kodi's 'don't fuck with me' attitude and annoying Kodi with admiration until he finally breaks down and accepts the little bugger XD

Michael actually has a plot where he's getting bullied right now, so he is bullied, and his parents don't really ever pay attention to him when they can avoid it. He hasn't received any mail from home since he started, and when he goes home for break it's pretty likely that they aren't there. He would likely look up to the guy if Kodi decided to stick up for him being bullied or something.
