She might've been right normally about the lazy part on any normal day, but on this day, in this place, for this scene, she was dead wrong. Oriel wasn't lazy, just....hell, he didn't know what he was, Oriel was just being weird today and that had everything to do with the fact that he was out and about(which put him in a grumpy mood anyway) and the fact that he was just a bit listless, thinking over a bunch of things. And the opportunity to play some strange game with this girl, or whatever it was that they were engaged in, gave him a much needed distraction.

So stalking.

Effectively.

As Dawn sped up, so did he, and as she slowed down, he did too. Didn't get on his nerves at all. Actually, it was rightfully more fun and amusing than it would have been if he just shuttled himself back to the dorms as fast as possible like he normally did. "Well, we both are students," he stated the obvious in response to her statement of the obvious. When she stopped, Oriel stopped as well, though the distance between them had closed yet again, from 10 feet to 6 feet.

"Care to walk side by side, or is that too...weird for you?"

Oriel didn't respond, just kept up his scowl that was too despondent to be very intimidating. When Dawn started walking again, for a moment Oriel didn't move. But after she'd gotten a good lead on him, he growled out a sigh and rushed after her at a slow jog, slowing further into a walk as he settled into an appropriate pace next to her. "Yeah...this ain't weird at all," he said looking away from her, making no effort to hide the sarcasm in his voice.

She couldn't help but laugh at him and shake her head as well. Why did he want to walk with her if he didn't like her? She had to ask..."Curious...why walk with me if it is weird?" She never understood it when people did this. Seriously, if you want to tick Dawn off just still her junk food and run off. Secondly, sleep with one eye open just in case she goes nuts.

"You wanna know why I like bullies?" She looked straight ahead and had a serious expression on her face. "They keep things interesting." She shook her head, knowing that wasn't a good reason. What is another reason why she liked bullies? She liked drama and bullies kept that going. "Really don't know...Maybe because I like drama, or maybe because I know that there has to be a reason they are the way they are. I guess it just get's me..curious?"

The confusion on her face showed that she really had know idea and that those were just some answers she was thinking may be the reason. It really made her confused. She didn't like bullies who physically hurt females and children, but it was okay if she saw someone...she shook her while trying to stop thinking of more reasons as to why she is so...confusing to her own self.

Who said he didn't like her? He just thought she was weird. And he was apparently awkward as fuck around girls he hadn't decided conclusively if he liked or not when he was having an off day. At least he wasn't being a raging asshole like he had been to the last couple of girls he'd met in town. "Would you rather I be a stalker?" he lazily snapped back. "Besides….you're the one who offered." Seriously, if she was going to question it later, why'd she ask him in the first place?

Oriel just kept his eyes forward and lips downturned as Dawn spoke explaining the wonders of why she liked bullies. Yeah, this girl was a fucking weirdo and her opinion only reinforced that.

Then again, it was a hella lot more opened minded than most of the grown up fucks he'd come across. Or half the other people he met who just thought he was a no-good nobody. Fuck, it wasn't like he was an asshole on purpose! …..Ok, maybe he was, but it wasn't as if he liked being that way……..Ok, maybe he did.

At the very least, he didn't like that he liked it, if that made any sense at all.

"A reason why they are the way they are…" Oriel mused, still not bothering to look her in the eye. He was managing to keep pace with her though as he spoke somewhat quickly. "Well…as a certified asshole, I'm inclined to give you some insight. Don't know 'bout anyone else but, I do it 'cause I like it. I like making people nervous, uncomfortable, scared as shit. It amuses me and makes me smile. Though…." he trailed off, wondering if he said too much. Hell, he was wondering why he was even admitting this shit to her. Whatever, it didn't matter. "I try to keep it to verbal abuse only." The operative word there being "try".

She couldn't help but smirk at his reaction to the question. "I dunno, I sometimes like being stalked. Especially if there are a lot of obstacles in the way, that way I confuse the stalker like crazy." She kept smirking and started chuckling. She remembered a bully in school who was stalking her in the hallway, he never did it again. She had walked in a somewhat cat-like, but zig-zag manner, which confused him and lose her at the same time. "Did it once, such a great day..." So she was a bully to other bullies...so?

She looked at him as he started to answer her. Ah, so that was why...she could feel the sarcasm coming, but she held it down so that she didn't end up looking like a bully herself. She did smile though when he said he only did it verbally. "I have a somewhat psychologist for a mother so ignore this if it starts sounding weird, or whatever else. The worst abuse, I believe, someone can do is mental abuse. Psychopaths are extremely good at it.." She then stopped smiling because she realized how strange she probably sounded.

She was very fascinated with rare disorders, especially ones that caused you to have no emotions or conscience. She knew that psychopaths could not help the way they were, they were born that way. Sociopaths on the other hand? They were made from horrible events. They both are still mysteries...there she went again! She sighed and kept walking, barely noticing how fast she was going. She always walked faster when she was thinking too much.

Ok, that made him laugh. "Better watch yourself. I'm an expert at stalking." He remembered having this conversation with someone before…someone he didn't care to remember right now. "If I were serious, you'd never even know I was there." Yeah, he knew how to do it, not that that was anything to be proud of. He'd stalked Lux on a number of occasions….though if she hadn't realized that he was doing that by now, then she was ditzier than Oriel thought.

Yeah, that was the reason, though again, he couldn't be sure about anyone else. And it wasn't like he was one of those small-time bullies who gave out wedgies and stole people's lunch money or anything. Those guy….well, they were pathetic in Oriel's opinion.

Well….Oriel certainly didn't need to hear that. He was flashing back to what Noa said about mental illnesses, which hadn't sat well with him either. How the fuck was someone supposed to be able to tell the difference?

While Dawn walked faster when she was thinking hard, Oriel walked slower while lost in thought until he'd come to a complete stop. By this time, Oriel didn't care anymore if she kept walking without him. All of a sudden he just felt stuck. Like he couldn't move forward, he didn't want to go back, but staying in one place just got him nowhere. What the fuck was he supposed to do?

For a while she nodded her head at his comment with a laugh. Expert stalkers were awesome, although she wouldn't want to be stalked by them. She guessed that she didn't want to be stalked by Oriel after all. She kept walking fast for a while until she noticed something, Oriel wasn't really in to the walk. She thought they were really connecting on some obscure level.

She stopped after a while of walking to turn around slowly. She had the most concerned expression on her face she ever had. Oh crap, what did she do? She slowly walked towards him. "Oriel?" She kept walking as slow as possible, she didn't know what was wrong. "I'm sorry, I'm not used to talking to people." She then got mad at herself.

Of all the things she had to do she ruined a perfectly good friend moment. Great!! She snarled at herself and started pacing back and forth in front of him, not too close though. "Wow I am such a jerk! I can't believe this...I don't know what I did, but I did somethin'. Dang it!" She then stopped in front of him and looked away. "Talk to me...say whatever you like."

This was stupid. What the hell was he getting all bent out of shape for? This was clearly just a matter of Oriel being unable to get over himself and had nothing to do with her...right?

At least that's what logical Oriel was telling himself.

And look! This Dawn girl was actually trying to make it better, unlike most people who would either ignore him or say something to make it worse, like rolling their eyes and being all annoyed with the fact that he froze up like he did.

Unfortunately, irrational Oriel was wanting to wring her little neck or just scream at her for being so stupid.

Oriel closed his eyes for about three seconds as he took in a deep breath of the cool fall air. When he opened them, he was looking at Dawn with degrading eyes and a snarky smile. "The hell're you jabbering on about like a yippy little puppy? You're hurting my ears." He wrung out one of his ears with his pinky then flicked away the earwax. With another snuff, Oriel leaned forward slightly and stuck out his tongue playfully. With that, Oriel pushed down her head as he briskly walked past her, taking a quick skip to turn around taunt the girl with a mischievous laugh as if to say "play with me!". Then he turned again and started walking off towards campus.

She was so upset with herself still. Why did she have to be so selfish? Why couldn't she-wait what? She stopped talking and froze while looking at Oriel. Was he faking? She didn't think he was, he must be covering it up or something. Then she watched, still frozen, as he stuck his tongue at her and pushed her head down while walking away from her.

She laughed and nodded her head. "Really?" She rubbed her hands together and ran after him as if she was going to do something. She would have jumped on his back, but she thought he may be touchy. Instead she just laughed and walked past him while sending a joking wink on her way past him. "Didn't know you could be this fun hahaha!!"

Yep, there was nobody better at faking than Oriel! He was still feeling pretty upset, but, as he did so often when he got upset, he used that brief moment to recenter himself and not let those feelings overtake him.

He didn't particularly care if Dawn fell for it, if she hadn't and called him out on it, Oriel would have just left. Regardless if she did, Dawn had decided to play instead. As she walked past, Oriel just laughed and increased his speed, zooming right past her. "Hurry it up, slow-poke!"

She laughed as she saw him walk past her. He seemed to be doing a lot better. Even if she noticed that he was sad it wasn't like she was going to say anything. She didn't want him to get scared again. That's what she thought he was, scared. She was scared of spiders, so much that she could cry, pass out, hallucinate and even freeze up when someone said the word. Because of this she didn't see a reason to get mad at the way he acted.

She smirked at him and was now happy she didn't have asthma because she would have passed out or something by now. "Slow poke?" She smiled and sprinted past him. Sure it was cheating but at least this time Dawn was cheating in a race instead of death itself. Cyanide wasn't half bad, didn't taste like anything at all, but when you drink it you foam from the mouth and lose consciousness, then recover...or atleast she did.
