Friday.. way early. Way, way early. Way too early for people to be awake. 3:00am, give or take. There were very few lights on around campus, and even fewer people up and about. How boring. What was the point of night vision and napping during the day if this school seemed to have so little night life? Kocher definitely had Hammel beat as far as nocturnal people went. Kit hadn't been able to find any sort of party, she hadn't managed to find anybody doing any sort of recreational drugs.. And she had the nose of a cat. Literally. She would know if anybody was smoking anything... and the best she'd found was tobacco. Ugh. No thanks. This place was boring. Here she was officially enrolled in boredsville, Vermont. It was too late to sneak off to town. Three AM on Saturday morning would work, but on a Friday? Psht.. It was basically Thursday night. Who went out on Thursday nights? ..Er.. Who besides Kit. Oof, at least she wasn't talking outloud, that kinda stung and she was the one who'd thought it.
Regardless, Kit was bored. She had stalked a few people, explored, gotten fairly familiar with the grounds, played catch-and-release with squirrel, found lots of great hiding spots and vantage points.. but none of them were any good when she wasn't running from anything, wasn't chasing anything, and had nothing to sneak off to them with. Gah. That squirrel had been pretty dang quick, though.. and clawing her way up buildings did burn a lot of energy.. So at least a good workout had been gotten. The night wasn't a complete waste. What to do now, though? Just.. going back to the dorm.. seemed so pointless. Besides, it would be totally cold in there. She'd had to leave the window open so she could get back in without alerting any monitors or whatever. Multi-level building window-exiting skills were good to have. No rope or ladder required. Claws helped. A lot.
But where to go? There were no parties and she didn't want to go to a place she was supposed to go to.. and her room would be cold. It was winter. People didn't leave windows open in winter for a good reason. Because cold. Duh. Unfortunately, that meant that... Kit's window was probably the only one on campus that was open. The only one she could climb in...
Except for that one in the co-ed dorms... Ah, heck. It was on the way.. kinda. Definitely worth checking out!
Miss Sammy Wilder, cold-loving pyrokinetic from dorm 206, who had been the only person Kit could find to leave their window open... would awake to find that she was not alone.. Though there wouldn't be another person in bed with her.. No, when Sammy awoke, she would find that there was a lightly purring bundle of warmth snuggled up tight against her tummy and soaking up the pyro's core heat as best as she was able. Under the blankets, too, if Sammy slept with blankets on.. When she realized that she had a visitor and investigated, Sammy would be greeted to a mostly dark colored cat with splotches of lighter amber/yellow color throughout her coat.. One green eye, one yellow. It didn't appear to be full grown, and was curled up with it's paws and face resting snugly against Sammy. It had no collar, but it definitely looked taken care of.. No mange of any description, it's fur was clean, no bugs of any sort, and despite being a cat it didn't seem to have shed even a single piece of fur..anywhere.
The kitty would stay asleep until something was done to wake it. Talking, moving, or freaking out and throwing it across the room counted as things being done to wake it..
When the kitty did wake up, if the method of waking was pleasant rather than violent, it would lift it's head, stare at Sammy, seem to smile for a moment, then nuzzle contentedly into her tummy again. Apparently Sammy was comfy.
