Lorelei had kept to herself for most of the year. She'd spent her time alone and studying and her efforts were rewarded by graduating the high school focused part of the Hammel Institute. But when she was given the option to leave or continue taking classes focusing on mastering her powers, she chose to continue.
It's not common for Lorelei's particular set of powers to harm anyone. She doesn't have a difficult time controlling her temper or acting out and wouldn't have much of a reason to anyway. Most - most - people leave Lorelei alone and those few who don't, well, Lorelei tends to simply ignore them. She felt it would be nice to have better control of her powers, however, better use of them. So even though her powers were no danger to herself or to others, she continued her training classes at Hammel.
The eighteen year old meta began down the hall when she left the training classroom and clutched her backpack straps in her wrists. She kept her eyes just above the floor level so that she wouldn't run into anyone but didn't make eye contact with anyone, either. When she reached the end of the hallway she made a turn and just on the left was the library. With a smile she pushed through the door and sucked in a relieved breath. The library was peaceful and a bit of a haven for Lorelei. Her fingers un-clutched the straps of her bookbag and relaxed as she checked in and found her way deep within the labyrinth of books.
With five or six books stacked in her hands, all related to controlling ones powers in one way or another, Lorelei attempted to find a table to sit at. Upon reaching one area of tables she saw that they were all mostly occupied. She caught the eye of a particular student that sat lounging while a partner searched through a book and scribbled on paper. Lorelei frowned and attempted to turn away before he noticed her but it was no use. Upon seeing her the boy smirked and stood up from his chair. Lorelei turned and disappeared upon the shelves but the boy quickly followed her and, in hurrying past her, flipped the books in her hands loose and they clattered to the floor.
"Oh, so sorry Wuornos! You should really be more careful!" the boy said, mocking. Footsteps approached and the boy rounded the corner of the aisle, disappearing just as one of the teachers appeared.
"Is everything alright over here?" she said and upon seeing the mess she began helping Lorelei pick up the books.
Lorelei: Everything is alright, thank you. I just - the books slipped from my hands, is all. Thank you, though, for coming to help.
She said and looked up to see who exactly the teacher was.
