She needed a quiet place to unwind. After her flight from Japan, which included several explanations to the security guards of why she was by herself and how she needed to get a passport (which she already had and made sure was legal), and unpacking her bags (which she had had some help with), she was ready for today to come. Well, at least she had thought she was ready. She had been proven wrong. As always.
Karashi sighed, pushing the doors open to the library. Today’s classes had been fairly easy. The instructors had just introduced themselves and had gone over class rules. The Japanese girl was excited for the classes she had gotten, and couldn’t wait to see what the rest of her time at the school would hold. However, the day had taken a turn for the worst when she had slipped and fell down the stairs. A few people of course helped her up, but a majority of them just laughed at her. Karashi had ran to the bathroom and cried.
Karashi always went to the library to help herself calm down. She never understood why, but reading things, especially in other languages, helped her to relax. She nodded at the librarian and then went on her way. She went to the fiction section, and decided that it wasn’t the best idea for her. She needed to relax, not to hear about her problems in a fantasy world. She decided to go to the non-fiction section, and Karashi smiled to herself. She was already starting to feel better.
However, that didn’t last long. Karashi had picked a good Russian book and was making her way to a chair when someone who was in a nearby chair stuck their foot out, and she tripped on it. Her book went flying, along with her book bag and the contents in it. Papers flew everywhere, and the Japanese girl sat up to a chorus of snickers. She looked at a group of girls who were making fun of her, trying hard not to cry. However, for the second time that day, tears streamed down Karashi’s face as she proceeded to pick up the papers and organize them in some fashion, just so that she wouldn’t have to look at the faces of her mockers.
