Who's your One True Character?

So, we've heard of One True Pairings - the ship that will always own your heart and make you feel... feelings.

But who's your One True Character? The one you worked hardest on developing, the one you had a million memorable threads with, who you'll never forget even if you occasionally lose muse, and whom the very thought of retiring makes your soul weep?

I think mine's Tanner. My other characters - Cynthia, Barb, Roger - are very fun to play at times, but ultimately somewhat two-dimensional and disposable. One-trick ponies. Tanner I watched grow up from a shy little nerd into a less-shy nerd who sings and dances onstage!! I've had him far longer than any of my other characters, have shipped him with just about everybody (Tancy, Tiara, Taniper, STOP), and have written half a dozen A/U fics about him. I can't look at Chad Michael Murray the same anymore! Heck, I even still have the dragon!tanner Apollo made for me sitting on my desk. Basically, Tanner's my little baby and always will be. Hmmph.

So what about you? Whose YOUR One True Character? Discuss!

[Mia Bell]

My one true character is Mia Bell. I have had her for about two years, and I love her to death. She's my outgoing punk rocker, with a tired and broken soul. She's been through a lot more than any of my character combined, and I relate to her story more than I do any of my other characters. She's the one character I wouldn't want to torture, yet some how she always does and it kind of breaks my heart. She's the one that I almost always have muse for, and even those rare times I do lose her muse, I always find it again. ^^ <3

[Adaryn Breslin]

Adaryn, I think, will always be my One True Character. I spent so long on this character, and developed her so much. She may still be introverted beyond belief, but as time goes by, she is slowly becoming this dynamic character. You might not necessarily see it yet, but I do. The change is coming and her confidence is slowly rising. She's hugging people and she's kissing boys (*squeal*) I don't know, but I can see from where I started with her (and Sydnee can definitely comment on this), and what I see is a well rounded character. Her flaws are prominent, but her personality stays true to who she is at all times. I think that the more I have written her, the more this girl comes naturally to me.

I really do care about Adaryn and I only want the best for her in the end. She's like my child. I always talk about her in creative writing, and I love writing her stories. Rya and Kailin are a mindset, where as Adaryn is always in my head. I've already retired Rya once, I can do it again if I really wanted to... and Kailin hasn't been around long enough to truly dig her way into my mind. Hence my failure at posting for her today v.v

But yeah, Adaryn is definitely my one true character.

Surprisingly, my One True Character is not Oriel Vanguard.

It is, in fact, Junpei Hirai. No matter how many times I've retired him and brought him back and reincarnated him, he is definitely the one character I always have muse for. He's had up to 6 incarnations, and I've played him on 3 other sites, Hammel being the fourth. I've played him first at age 22, then 15, then 23, then 16. I've played him in multiple universes and with multiple backgrounds. He's had both a traditional japanese background, and an american one. He's had multiple kinds of powers and combinations of powers, but no matter what build I make him, I always seems to have muse for him no matter what. I've shipped him with girls, I've shipped him with boys. Junpei is easily my favorite character and I will continue to use him on any future rp sites I may happen to join.

Anyway. Oriel comes in a very close second, though he's still too new to be there yet.

[Thomas "Monroe" Montgomery]

I'd say it's tough to pick my One True Character, but in all reality, it isn't. I love all of my characters, but Monroe Montgomery will always be my One True Character.

He started out as a mere sketch for a powers school novel. He was the dreamwalker always wandering around lost and sleep deprived and accidentally intruding on the main character's dreams. I later figured out that I didn't want to write this novel, but instead joined a powers RP where I really began to bring him to life in the past couple of years. Since then he has been morphed for 3 other sites, including Hammel and has developed beyond anything I had planned for him. The name Monroe always stood out to me and it has truly become this character. He's been a vision in my head since I was about seventeen (almost four years now) and he's become an intricate part of my writing and my writing style.

Just ask Emily and Myndi (ReginaGeorge22 and Aerilux), they were there with him from the beginning and their characters Eloise and Adaryn were as well.

[Sora Inoue]

Well, right now all my characters are still developing, and are a bit flat in their own ways. I love them all to bits too, but I really have to say that Kelly's my One True Character.

He's my first student. Even with the short-ish time I've been here, he's developed the most, and in the most expectedly. I meant for him to the troubled kid who hates teachers of my bunch. Instead he's turned out to be the big brother who is currently taking care of two sobbing students. He isn't a tough guy, and he's actually sweet. He's also the only character of mine that came the closest to a relationship that isn't theoretical or I planned out (-coughSora'sengagedcough-). He also turned out to be a lot more accepting for love. He's really branching out more than I could've ever thought he would. I'm kind of proud of him.

I've also had a huge love for unisex names (Wynn, Lin, Sora, Kasen, and Kelly… Not one is gender oriented). His name, Kelly, really stands out for me too as a man's name. I always imagined he'd be so conscious of his name being so identifiable with girls, but he really doesn't care at this point. He's a really sweet and caring guy now.

The others of my minions aren't quite as dear to me as my bright haired baby.

[Tristan Baker]

As much as I love all thirteen of my characters with each and every one having their own quirks and craziness, I do surprisingly have One True Character. Adrianna Carstyn will forever be my baby girl.

Although Lucah was my first real Hammel character that I started with, Adrian was soon to follow and she took the world by storm. Ship after ship, heartbreak after heartbreak, plot after plot. She's not only a wonderfully developed character, she is my most dynamic character. This character, I've literally put through hell and she's slowly on the trek back from rock bottom. She's been left behind, cheated on, abandoned and kidnapped with a gun pointed to her head. She's survived her mother's death from lung cancer and is finally dealing with the father that abandoned her before birth. She's gone through more darkness than anyone so bubbly should ever be put through and got a hard shove into reality from her fantasy world made up of naivety and innocence.

Adrian is very near and dear to my heart because certain things that I've put her through, I've gone through myself and playing it out through her gave me strength to face my own demons.

Oh and she's in my One True Ship also with Lani Hunter because all the feels <3

In all seriousness, of course, my OTC is very blatantly Vincent Meian. He had been with me through over eleven years of roleplay in various forms; as a demon, a god, a fallen angel, a mortal man - an assassin, a sorcerer, a teacher, a father. His personality is ever constant, even when his life changes into something new and wonderful, and it's always brilliantly delightful when he surprises me with new quirks that I never knew about. Though he may have had humble beginnings as simply an alternate character representation from a published comic, Vincent has evolved into so much more than that through the years.

Even though I tease him, put him in awkward situations, and sometimes even threaten his livelihood (and very life, often enough), I will never abandon him. He is my staunchest of companions, my steadiest of muses, my source of inspiration and my greatest gift from the world of literature. And so, he is my gift to you, Hammel, for you are the first to see him online outside a select group of people.
