Delightful Disgusting Doughnuts (OPEN)

It had been a while since Harmony had done anything exciting. At least in her eyes. And something had to be done about that.

So that morning she'd actually gotten up early and gotten two dozen creme-filled doughnuts. Very carefully, she removed all of the cream. Then refilled the doughnuts with mayonnaise. It was a bit messy. And a few got too messed. She tossed them to the side, fearing people would suspect they'd been tampered with. But when she was done she had over a dozen of the most disgusting doughnuts ever.

Now she just had to figure out where to put them.

Her first thought was to try to sneak them somewhere those inspector people running around would grab them. Her second was to somehow sneak them into the staff lounge. But she worried that there would be no staff lounging around this early and she didn't want to have to wait too long for a victim.

So, doughnuts tucked under her arm, Harmony made her way to the student lounge. There seemed to always be someone around there. Luckily it was still rather early and not too many people were up and about to ask her what she was up to. And even the few she passed in the halls didn't give her a second glance.

Easing opening the door, Harmony peeked inside to see that the room was empty. She left the doughnuts on a table, slightly open so people would assume they were for everyone. And then, because she just had to see the look on people's faces, she found a spot to hide in the bottom of a cabinet in the corner that held board games and such.

Now she just had to wait...

Rather suspicious. Totally suspicious. Completely suspicious.

Which made it interesting.

The girls were merely patrolling about that early morning, still used to the regular schedule that their fathers had trained them to. Early to bed, early to rise, they said, to which the girls only smiled through gritted teeth over. But contrary to their performance towards everyone else, Temperance and Charity loved their fathers and did as they asked without question. And anything else they did, they kept their mouths shut about.

And it was with such mouths that they followed a certain tart from the hallways of the institution, both pairs of eyes reflecting their suspicion.

What was it that was so suspicious about this girl anyway? Call it intuition that only those of the highest borne could employ.

Or the real answer, to which they would never admit, was they were merely searching for something to do and the dumpy child caught their eye as a good playmate. One who appeared to be up to no good.

They spotted her from down the hall as she slipped through the door, just as they rounded the corner. From there it was a matter of approaching, peering through the cracks, and waiting. What was she doing anyway?

The girls did not see the doughnuts being placed about the table, however they did notice the girl had hidden herself. Temp and Chair exchanged a look, then helped themselves to the inside of the student lounge, wondering exactly what it was this mutton girl had left behind. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary as they scanned the room, stepping around one of the tables and to the far end, ignoring the doughnuts at first.

They needed tea first.

Eric ambled into the lounge, far earlier than he usually liked, but he had a class shortly and didn't want to be in his room where distractions might make him tardy. 'Really don't need that on my record anymore' he thinks to himself as he examines the chamber, vacant but for a pair of twins working on tea and something in the game cabinet. He does his best to ignore the girls, 'The Quinns, right?' he ponders, and picks up one of the doughnuts as he moves to a corner seat, adjusting his sunglasses against the light streaming into the window. He takes a seat, thumbing through his kindle as a time killer, then moves to take a bite out of the pastry, pausing just as it reaches his lips and an odd aroma reaches his nostrils. He pulls back from his bite and looks around, wondering if there's an external source, then he takes a closer look at his 'treat'. He examines it a little closer, then pokes his finger in to taste the cream, cringing slightly as the taste of warming mayo mixed with sugars hits his tongue. He forces a swallow, if only to clear the taste from his mouth, and sets the trap aside. After a moments consideration, he goes back to his reading, 'Someone put a lot of work into this.' He reasons, 'Be a shame to be the one to rat them out.'

Harmony hadn't noticed the twins in the hallway, too busy with her own plans to worry much about another student following her. That and she was too sure of herself to think that anyone would be able to see what she was thinking of.

She had left the door to the cabinet just slightly open so that she would see into the room a little, but she couldn't make out much. She did notice when the girls walked in and sighed to herself when they passed over the doughnuts. Sheesh! What kinda moron would walk right past free doughnuts?

She held her breath as another boy walked in and picked up one of the doughnuts. She had to shift a bit in the cabinet to be able to see whim when he took a seat. She frowned when he only took a small taste of her surprise. At least he didn't say anything. And maybe the twins would pick up one.

Til then she slumped back in the cabinet trying to get comfortable. She was making a bit of noise in there, so someone might have heard her, not that the concern crossed her mind at the moment.

[Asher Hayes]

Asher woke up hungry. He decided was going to have a sandwich and watch some television before class. He pulled out a ham and cheese sandwich out from under his bed. Asher kept a stash of food in a cooler for emergency snacks. He took a bite into his breakfast as he walked barefoot down the hall. Asher was surprised when he found that his sandwich was without mayonnaise. The dry pieces of lunch meat between two dry pieces of white bread disgusted him. Asher was in desperate need of mayo or even butter to make his meal bearable.

Since he was barefoot, going to the cafeteria to get a mayo packet was not a choice and he was too lazy to go back to his dorm to get some footwear. He entered the student lounge annoyed until he spotted the box of donuts on the table. Before he picked out one, he noticed a girl hiding in the board game cabinet. Asher was going to ho over and say something but he had priorities. The donuts were Boston Creme, his favorite. Asher picked out the plumpest of them all and dove right in. When the mix of cake and mayonnaise first hit his taste buds, Asher's face scrunched up and he almost vomited.

After recovering from the trauma he had just experienced, Asher had an idea. He opened up the sandwich he was going to throw away. Asher squeezed the mayonnaise from the donut onto his sandwich. He tasted it with caution but it didn't turn out half bad. Since the prankster ended helping him, Asher left the box of donuts. He even got a marker and paper and made a sign that read, "Free Donuts for All! A Taste You'll Never Forget!". Satisfied with his work, Asher sat on the closest chair, turned on the television, and chowed down.

The twins continued to ignore the little girl in the cabinet as the prepared their tea, even the shuffling about that was painfully obvious to anyone in the room. They ignored the first person who entered the room and inspected the doughnuts, not noticing that he sensed something wrong with them.

Though it was about the time that they turned around that they noticed the second boy who was now using the cream from the doughnuts as a dressing for his sandwich and they both shared a disgusted face. Seeing that had completely ruined their appetite for the confections, though as he prepared the sign it occurred to them that there lay the trick that the foolish little girl had left in the room after her suspicious sneaking around.

They sat at one of the tables, deliberately close to the hiding cabinet, and began their tea-time chat. "The tea is substandard. Like so many other things in this school. It really is a terrible disappointment." Temperance sighed, looking down into her cup.

"We really should have father send us a package of our favorites." Charity maintained a proper composure, bringing her own tea to her lips.

"It's too bad they can't send us anything perishable. Like an assortment of truly authentic french pastries. I don't know if I can stand to even look at another one of these cheap American imitations."

"Agreed. American's can't seem to do even the simplest things right."

Of course, they were speaking soft enough to sound casual, but loud enough for the girl to overhear.

Harmony was starting to get antsy when finally someone picked up one of the doughnuts. She'd kept her hand over her mouth as the older boy bit into them, ready to enjoy the look on his face. Still, his reaction had been a bit of a let down. Sure, he'd looked ready to toss his cookies, but afterwards just acted like nothing was wrong. Even though she had to hand it to him for using the "creme" on his sandwich, she'd been hoping for some screaming or yelling or something.

So again, she turned her attention to the two girls. She listened quietly to the two girls complain about the tea and such. Harmony found herself shaking her head in annoying. Rich snobby girls. How freakin annoying?

Of course, Harmony did her fair share of complaining about how much this school sucked, but at least she did it well. These girls looked like idiots complaining about how they wished their daddy would bring them some fancy smancy tead. Sheesh.

Finally, Harmony couldn't take it. And the cabinet was getting cramped and boring anyways.

"Will you two shut up?" Harmony said, crawling out of the cabinet. "Sheesh, I'm about to die of boredom listening to you two miss fancy pants."
