Are they gone, or just invisible? (Open to Roomies)

The loneliness in this damned place was maddening. Judah would struggle with his homework in silence, watch TV in silence, play video games on his laptop in sort of silence, and sleep in silence. Obviously. No activity. Nothing happened in the background. It was beginning to bother him that his two dorm-mates seem to disappear. Like, where the Hell did these two go during the day? Night? Judah was convinced that he'd been placed in a dorm with people with the power of invisibility. It was as if his ghosts-for-roommates were trying to communicate with him. They left notices around the house when they were running out of food and toilet paper or when the dishes needed to be done. Otherwise, Judah hadn't heard hardly a peep from the two since the very beginning of the school year. Maybe they're dead. Does that mean he gets the semester off? Or a dorm exchange? Either would be fine with Judah.
Judah had made himself a sandwich with the works: turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and bacon. Crispy bacon, because when it's soft it tastes like shit. He grabbed himself a bottle of Coke and crashed on the sofa. His Coke can was placed on the coffee table and he swiped up the remote control. He could not believe that the garbage Christmas specials were still playing. Sure, he celebrated. He didn't want to see the Charlie Brown Christmas and Christmas Vacation more than seventeen times, though. He flicked through the channels, searching for something - anything of interest. He settles for a recorded episode of Naruto. I wonder if my roommates like this show. I don't remember asking. Actually, I hardly remember their faces.
Judah took an eye off of the television to glance at the door, then his watch. How late was it? It was almost 8 o' clock. Perhaps the ghosts come in later at night. When he is asleep. Judah goes to bed early in order to wake up early. ...Maybe that was the trick. Should I wait? ...Yes. That's rational. Detention if I sleep through first and second period; whatever. I get detention anyways. So he decided to stay awake and watch Naruto. And for the two others that were supposed to occupy this space.
