General Appearance: Asher doesn't look like a normal teenage boy. His bright blue hair and peculiar fashion sense makes him stick out like a sore thumb. Asher's hair is usually long and messy. He doesn't put a lot of effort into styling it or even brushing it at all. Asher first died his hair blue at age thirteen. His school had uniforms so he used his hair as a way to be unique.
Asher's fashion is definitely the strangest thing about him. Though most days he'll just wear an obscure band T-shirt, every once and a while, Asher will change it up. This outfit is usually made up of at leafy one item of patent leather clothing (a shirt or pants, not shoes) and a pair of mad scientist stomping boots. Asher definitely considers himself a non-conformist.
Personality: Asher's a weird person. He definitely has an obsessive personality. If he finds a new hobby he enjoys or decides to learn a new instrument, he will spend all of his time doing it. Though this could definitely be helpful, most of the time Asher gets so obsessed with something that he forgets about his priorities. This explains his mediocre grades in school.
Asher's favorite thing to do is to play music. He picks up instruments and has currently mastered 20 different instruments including the piano, guitar, bass, drums, ukulele, accordion, organ, harmonica, recorder, saxophone, trumpet, and cello and is hoping to learn more. 20 instruments sounds impressive but about 6 or 7 of them are just different kinds of drums including the bongos, timpani, and snare. Though he did take lessons for the piano and guitar, he taught himself the rest of the instruments he knows. And of course, he can sing quite well. Not only is Asher a good musician but he is also a talented artist. He enjoys painting but loves making comics and cartoons the most.
Due to Asher's obsessive personality, he is constantly starting many projects such as songs, videos, and works of art. Many times Asher doesn't have a lot of time to spend with friends because he has so much to do. He gets really excited about creating things and forgets that he is only one person.

History

Asher was born on December 11th, 1997. He was the only child in his family and spent a lot of time with his parents. Ever since he was young, Asher always preferred to be making "music" (randomly hitting his family's piano or pounding on his toy drum) or making art. His parents were very encouraging about his interest in the arts and willingly paid for his music lessons and art supplies. He covered his walls with his art and filled countless notebooks with sheet music.
Asher's school district had a dress code so everyone had to wear the same uniform. Asher didn't like being identical to everyone so in sixth grade, he dyed his hair blue. Though his parents were a little surprised at first, they were very accepting. They wanted their son to be happy. But they weren't always very understanding parents. Sometime's Asher would get so caught up in his projects that he would forget to do school work. Since both of his parents were teachers, they were very disappointed when his grades started to slip. They would have many serious discussions about it. Eventually, Asher got better about it and his grades majorly improved. But, now that his parents aren't around to nag him, Asher once agin has to deal with that issue. At age thirteen, Asher's powers started to manifest. The next day, a recruiter from Hammel arrived their door. Since neither of Asher's parents had powers, they were extremely confused when their told them that he moved a pencil with his mind. The recruiter explained everything to them as Asher packed his stuff. After saying his final goodbyes, he headed off to the Hammel Institute. The first thing he did after unpacking was filling his wardrobe. Asher didn't own much clothing because he had worn the same thing to school every day before then. Asher is currently in his third year at Hammel and hopes to play more gigs and even record an album.

Roleplay Example

It was open mic night at the local pub. Asher packed up his ukulele and left his dorm. As he made his way into town, the snowflakes landed gently on his head. Asher trudged through the snow in his big combat boots. He had forgotten a hat but his hair was just long enough for it to protect his ears from the cold. Though winter wasn't his favorite, Asher had to admit that the snow made the town look beautiful. As he walked, he sang to himself the song he would be performing. By the time he finished softly serenading himself, he had arrived at his destination. After checking in, Asher tuned his ukulele and prepared himself for his performance. Asher had a ritual. He would take a few deep breathes, count to ten, and then jump around to get pumped. Once he was energized, he warmed up his voice with a few scales. He was just finishing when the man he checked in with told him he was on now. Asher adjusted the strap on his ukulele and headed on stage. "Hi, my name is Asher Hayes and I will be performing an original piece." He took one last deep breathe and started to play.

Just a few quick things before Asher is ready for Hammel!

With audiokinesis Asher can change the volume of sound around him, or the pitch, but he can't move objects. If you would like him to move objects then the appropriate power would be telekinesis.

In regards to the twenty instruments I'd just like some clarification. Does he take lessons for all of these? Is he proficient in all of them, or are some of them instruments he is still working on mastering and other people may not want to be around when he's practicing?

Third, an hour is actually fast for a recruitment since the recruiters have to be alerted to a manifestation and then travel from Vermont. This isn't an impossible travel time if his family already lived close by, or the recruiter was already in the area, so as long as you explain it then it's fine. I would just like an explanation for clarity.
