Game Night (open to students and dorm staff)

Zeb made a point of trying to have some sort of activity for the students a few times a month. Though usually because of his lack of sleep led to poor planning and motivation, most of the time he just rented a new movie and bought a ton of snacks.

But now and then he tried to so something that required actual interaction, because staring at a screen wasn't really socializing.

So he'd put up a few posters and reminded the kids he came across in the halls that tonight was Game Night in the student lounge. He'd pulled out a bunch of board games and scattered them around the lounge, along with snacks of course.

That done, he grabbed the bowl of Cheetos, plopped down at a table, and started setting up the board for 'Sorry' as a few students trickled in.

"You up for a game?" he asked.

Asher was bored out of his mind. He laid on his bed wishing he had something to do. Asher checked his phone for the millionth time to see if anyone was around. Of course, there were no responses. Instead of spending his day in dorm, Asher decided to walk around. After getting dressed, he decided to head down to the student lounge. "There must be something to do there." Asher thought to himself. Thankfully, there was another human being in the room when he entered. As a bonus, he seemed to want to play board games an eat snacks. The one downfall was not a fellow student but just a dorm monitor. "It's better than nothing, Asher." He told himself.

Trying to not seem desperate, Asher wandered around the student lounge occasionally glancing at the staff member. Using his telekinesis, he brought a Cheeto into his mouth. "Delicious." Asher said with a smirk, "Let's play a game." Asher approached the table where Sorry was set up and picked out his color: green. Once he put his pawns were in place, Asher waited for more students to enter.

Matthew didn’t have much to do, so why not head to the dorm monitor’s game night? It was still too cold to really venture outside. That, and he didn’t feel like putting back on real clothes. Gray sweatpants, socks and slides, and one of his more comfortable shirts. That was what he was wearing and no one was going to change that.

He entered the lounge, looking around to what was laid out for them. It wasn’t the grandest of events, but it was something to pass the time until he found something better to do. Sorry! looked… interesting for the moment; he was going to deal with it to pass the time. Sitting at the table with the others, he claimed red for his own. Matt took the phone out of his pocket and typed a short message, showing it to the others: ”lets play”

Zeb never really expected these events to be packed. Most students were either busy with classwork or thought it would seem 'lame' to come. Still he kept having them for the one or two that would show up.

He couldn't help but smile when Asher lifted a snack to his mouth using his power. It always pleased him to see a student actually enjoying their ability. Of course he knew that ever meta had their own personal side effects to deal with, but he couldn't help but be a little bias and feel that some had it worse than others. Not that he would ever mention this to any student.

"They're my favorite," Zeb said, popping a few of the Cheetos into his own mouth before turning to read Matthew's text. He couldn't recall the exact details of Matthew's power and was mentally kicking himself for it. Keeping up with all of the students abilities, relationships, troubles, and so on was a daunting task, but Zeb had always set the bar high for himself.

After the boys picked their colors, Zeb selected the yellow for himself, mostly because it's home was closest to where he was seated. "Asher, would you like to go first?" he asked, pushing the die closer to the boy.

Trapper didn’t really enjoy school having been kept back a grade for missing so much time and not being able to make up enough work to graduate, she felt really out of place being one of the oldest kids in her classes. Even though it was her hopefully last year she knew she couldn’t stress or she more then likely end up in the medical ward, again. So she planned on skipping it, just for tonight of course. So then the question came, what to do?
Wandering the halls of the dorm she looked around for someone to talk to but it seemed like everyone had something to do or someone to be with so she kept wandering at least she would get some exercise as she had gained a couple of pounds and wanted to work on loosing them anyway. So she quicken her pace until she walked into the lounge and it looked like a game just started. Intrigued, she went up to the three of them and politely asked if she could join them. She sat down with them even if they said no, at least she could watch and maybe chat.

Trapper didn’t have many friends she tended to be a loner but her counselor suggested that she try to make more friends and not just with the animals around campus. Her ability at first she thought was crazy, something to be ashamed of but slowly she started to enjoy it, much to everyone surprise. Until it was the only thing that she thought of, she had preferred keeping company with the animals rather then the other students. The end result was missed classes, additional therapy sessions and to top it off being held back.

She looked at the three of them an silently wondered about what power they had. “So, can I play?” she asked again watching for any off remarks. Then she couldn’t help herself and asked them flat out “What are your abilities? “ she added “I can hear animals talk and talk back to them.”

Now she did it, her mouth opening before giving any real thought about weather or not she should have asked it. Suddenly she felt nervous, regretting asking the question. But it was to late now. She had her hands in her lap and couldn’t help but pick at her skin on her finger nails until they started to bleed and then she had to hold the tips of her fingers to her jeans to stop the blood.
