Sawyer had been stewing for weeks after she found out what had happened between Evony and Lucy. Though she was still weirded out by the fact that Lucy had been part of a 'thing' with her roommate, all Sawyer seemed to care about was to make sure nobody messes with her mates.

The new year was approaching and Sawyer still hadn't said or done anything to Evony to raise any suspicions that she knew what had happened. Of course, it was sort of easy given that they didn't actually talk when Lucy wasn't around in the first place.

But tonight, armed with a bottle of pretty expensive champagne, since she knew Evony liked expensive things, Sawyer went to Evony's room and picked at her lock, shoving the door wide open. She didn't take into account whether or not the blue-haired gypsy was around and as soon as she was in, Sawyer trashed the whole place.

She tipped over drawers, broke a few breakable things, kicked at some stuffed toys and grabbed a bottle of pink nail polish off the dressing table to pour it all over the floor. After that, she swept everything off the dresser and once she was done, she looked around at her masterpiece and smiled mirthlessly.

Grabbing the bottle of champagne she placed it on Evony's bed and widened her smile. "Happy New Year!"

Hours upon hours of New Years shopping had concluded with a bag full of gifts and goodies that Evony had only half payed for and a spirit full of holiday cheer. Christmas had come and gone, the snow was falling and the not so blue Blue Bird managed to carve a modest little celebration for herself. Although there was no family around she did manage to get some fun out of the festivities.

Feeling particularly generous Evony bought several knick knacks as gifts for friends far and wide. There was something for each of her roommates and late Christmas gifts for those closest to her.

Even though the past months had brought with it ceaseless drama, Evony had promised herself that the new year would be a clean slate for herself. A time for generosity and change.

Having travelled through the Reflection world on her way back from her spending spree, the porcelain skinned thief thought it best to prepare for the coming festivities. One particular gem in her bag was the fireworks she had 'borrowed' from some factory. Surely she would find some use for them.

Unfortunately for her, what was usually looked like a messy room had seemingly become even worse. Evony saw the state of her room before she even 'jumped' into it and her eyes instantly caught the culprit in the act, placing a bottle of champagne on the completely naked dresser.

All thoughts of festive cheer disappeared right then and there.

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!" She screamed, appearing from the nothingness of her mirror and hurtling her tiny frame into the space of Sawyer's equally tiny frame. "ARE YOU DRUNK?!" Evony wailed, panicked at the state of her room.

The attack came as a surprise for sure. Sawyer hadn't realised the girl was around. She forgot the other girl could appear from the mirror.

And as she toppled to the floor, Sawyer laughed and attempted to roll over Evony. One hand moved out to punch Evony, not sure if it connected.

"Please, the place would be annihilated if I was." She finally answered. "You fucked with the wrong girl, man." Sawyer added before managing to crawl out from under Evony, breathing heavily as she looked down at the purple-haired mirror walker with a snarl.

Maybe Evony was caught up in her shock, the fact that her generally mild roommate had sabotaged her little nest so badly, that tackling the girl seemed like the only plausible plan of action. Unfortunately, she wasn't expecting the punch and only a few seconds after ramming into the voice mimic did Evony feel the sharp blow to her chest, right on the boob.

Her arms crumpled beneath her and the thief found herself squirming on her carpet, clutching her breast as she shot Saywer the dirtiest of glares she could manage.

"What the fuck are you talking about?" She whined, gasping at several broken pieces of jewellery scattered by her head. "I've done nothing to you!" Evony wailed, propping herself upwards and stumbling to her feet, still dazed with the destruction of her room.

It wasn't a pre-emptive strike, the boob punch, but when it hit, Sawyer was pretty damn satisfied. There really wasn't anything more satisfying than landing a punch where it really hurt. Running her fingers through her messed up hair, Sawyer looked down at Evony, ignoring the look the girl was giving her.

"No. I guess it wasn't me. Oops." Sawyer faked an apologetic pout before covering her mouth. "But then again, I do have this policy where if you hurt my friends, you're basically hurting me." She made a face and shrugged. "You happen to know Lucy Serrano right? I think you do. You've been sucking face with her half the year already, am I right?" She feigned confusion, tapping her chin as though in deep thought. "Yeah, I seem to recall you fucking her over with your bullshit." She practically spat the last syllable in the purple-haired mirror walker.

"This is some sage advice for the new year. Get the fuck over yourself and stop fucking around with the only good fucking thing you've got in your sorry ass life."

In reality, Evony was scouring what remained of her room for something to defend herself with. First, Sawyer trashes her belongings and then proceeds to punch her in the boob, if that didn't warrant any concern for her safety then who knows what did. Even though the voice mimic was far from being intimidating, the sheer damage was enough to freak out the thief.

But as it stood, the violent spectacle wasn't what hurt, it was the admission soon after.

Always coming back to that one mistake.

Evony tensed up the moment Lucy was mentioned, feeling a sliver of dread, anger and betrayal consume her mind. Hadn't the Australian shown some semblance of forgiveness? Or was Lucy now in the habit of sending hitmen after her to teach the guilt ridden thief a lesson? It all came as a fresh smack to the face and the violet haired swindler found herself cowering from the mere reminder of it all.

"She told you...?" Was all that she could say, a hollow whisper which soon morphed into something red and angry. Stumbling to her feet, the skinny swindler cleared the ball in her throat before giving the ruins of her room one last hopeless look.

"Get out. Now."

Sawyer never pegged herself to be a very physically violent person, which was why the boob punch actually surprised her. It was satisfying for sure but it had come as a surprise. She hadn't meant to get involved in a physical tussle with the mirror walker so really, she was just defending herself!

She happened to be looking over to Evony when she saw the mixture of emotions run through the purple-haired meta. She looked surprised as she asked her question. Sawyer, admittedly, had been surprised as well when Lucy opened up to her but she had also been flattered and they were actually better friends for it, she thought to herself.

It was because of this that Sawyer had raged on the seemingly flexible thief's room. She felt a strong urge to go Hulk over anybody who thought messing with a perfectly lovable tattooed ink manipulator was something to do. She would go so far as to saying they deserved whatever came to them if they have the nerve to fuck with her friend.

"Um...why should I? I'm not done proving my point yet." Sawyer shrugged, crossing her arms and purposely kicking the already overturned chair she had raged on earlier.

Gazing at what remained of her once bountifully filled room, Evony felt a gnawing sickness rupture through her gut. All of this was hers, every trinket and object held some value regardless of how seemingly insignificant they were. Shattered nail polished pooled at the foot of her bed, oozing into her carpet and reminding the thief of another time in this exact dorm where paint had been tossed everywhere. That was in jest, this on the other hand was a cruel prank.

Picking up a nearby necklace, the skinny swindler clenched her jaw, gently running her dainty fingers over the shattered pendant that was once so beautiful to look. She remembered seeing the item, it called to her, begged her to snatch it away and add it to her collection. Now it was nothing, a fragment of her wasted achievements.

Evony wouldn't give Sawyer the satisfaction of seeing her cry, but on the inside the thief was wailing.

Sawyer's refusal to leave only spiked the girl's frustration even further, to the point that her clenched fists turned ivory from the sheer anger. She felt something prick her flesh in the palm of her hand but she did not care, not anymore.

"You've proved your point." She uttered in a strained voice, leering at the girl like a wounded beast. "and if Lucy sent you so has she." The thief shuddered, hoping the theory was just that, a theory.

She didn't know if it was her meta ability or just her own sense of things but she could hear the different inflections in a voice as easily as a native speaker could distinguish a fake accent. And Evony, Sawyer could tell, was at her breaking point. The voice mimic felt no remorse whatsoever as the girl tried to get a response from her with those words in that particular sentence.

Sawyer would have admitted to the fact that she was an independent worker, that she didn't need to be sent to do something as destructive as this. Though one could argue that Sawyer was indeed Lucy's bitch, this was really all the voice mimic's doing. And part of her felt that the mirror walker wanted her to say that. To confirm with her that the love of her life didn't just order a hit on her to fuck things up.

So she simply sneered and uncurled her arms from the crossed up position it had been previously before grabbing the bottle she had left on the dressing table and handing it to her with a smirk. "I think you summed it up quite perfectly. Happy New Year, Bluejay." She chirped and patted the purple-haired meta on top of her head before exiting the room. But not without dragging her steel toed boot against the back of her door. Just as a reminder.
