Classes will be back in session at Hammel come Monday, and so it is time to announce specifics regarding the Hammel Exchange Program plot!
For the IC plot explanation: some students from Hammel are going to Kocher and Eisai Gakkō for the semester, beginning with the end of winter recess and going through until right before graduation. Some students from Kocher and Eisai Gakkō are, likewise, coming to Hammel for the semester. Students will return to their respective schools and continents in time for graduation and summer recess. While here, the students will live in student dormitories, and they will be encouraged to engage with the rest of the community. There will be a job/internship fair with local organizations and businesses to help students find job and learn skills; this will be done IC. There will also be cultural exchanges and some other activities. Faculty members from the two schools abroad will also participate in the exchange program, as will Hammel faculty members. All participation is voluntary, IC and OOC. Anyone breaking school rules or having some sort of medical emergency will be sent home early.
How this will work: For the purposes of playing exchange students from abroad, characters will be applied to as is typical. However, their history will mention that they are from Kocher or Eisai Gakkō and are here for the Exchange Program, rather than as transfer students. To qualify for the program, students need to have decent enough control over their abilities and they must be in good academic and disciplinary standing; this is not pawning off students on unsuspecting faculty. Faculty members must not be in any sort of legal or job-related trouble in order to participate.
As for Hammel students and faculty, the same IC good standing rules apply. Characters sent abroad cannot role play in the general board, and they will be considered retired for the purposes of posting, with the exception of journals and the communications board. If nobody is interested in sending their characters abroad, we will send NPCs. If you were thinking of retiring a character for a while and want an IC explanation, then having them go abroad might be a good fit.
To participate, or if you have questions, please PM Sean on his staff account. Additionally, since the January Activity Check begins soon, you can make a note of it during your Activity Check post.
