Too darn cold

Zxaine hated the cold, and in return the cold hated her. It made her ache and tremble and overall just not be a happy camper. She avoided it wherever possible and as such always took care to bundle up when she was forced out of the warmth of indoors to the frigid outside. Now she was stuck outside, not because of any lock or door... but because her scarf had gotten snagged by that infernal, icy wind and was now flapping helplessly from a tree branch well out of her reach. She stared up at it, her peacoat pulled tight around her and her fingers stuffed deep in her pockets for warmth. I guess stared is too nice a word, more like glared up at the traitorous piece of fabric, abandoning her like that.
It was too bad that she was stuck in the gloom of the cold, as the day was rather beautiful. The sky was mostly clear, what clouds in the blue mass were wispy and cotton like. The wind only blew in gusts, and when there was no wind it was ALMOST tolerable. Almost. As it was she was standing in a pile of snow at the base of the tree, idly wondering if she trusted her tree climbing skills enough to venture after it. The wind picked up again and cut through the jacket, causing her to squeal and tuck her head closer to the woolen jacket as if that would protect her from the cold. Her hair whipped around her and she sighed, stepping back towards the maintained walkways and plopping to a seat on a dry spot of the path. She leaned her back against the snowbank and dropped her sunglasses from atop her head onto her nose, pulling her phone from her pocket and starting to idly play a game while she waited for that scarf to decide to pull free of the tree and hopefully drift towards the ground where it could be retrieved. She might be there awhile...
"Too bad it's so cold out... otherwise it would be a beautiful day.." She mumbled to no one but herself, "Can't wait for spring to arrive..."
