Fall 2012
This was the day that Ellen Banks had been waiting for what felt like years she had just been chopping at the bit to for what seemed like forever to achieve what she had achieved today, namely freedom. To say a not so heartfelt to boring hick town USA. She must have been the only student in Hammel that shuddered at the very thought of of any extended break from her kingdom. Goodbye, Respect and fear of her peers, hello two weeks of her mother fussing over her and freaking out if she stayed out past 11. (Not that there was anywhere to go in…) and her brat of a little brother screaming in her ear and going through her room. Ugh if she had to spend another moment in that place she might have screamed. So thank God the week ended when it did providing Young Miss. Banks with an escape when it did. Granting her the opportunity to escape her chains (Not to mention her father’s watchful eye) and step back into the hallowed halls of her REAL home.
Which to her meant one thing above all others; Independence. A chance to escape her parents watchful gaze and now she was determined to make up for time lost.
And she was more then a little pleased to see that, she wasn’t easily forgotten as she walked down the corridor, clad in expensive cream colour jacket and shirt combo with sunglasses masking her eyes with a glittering necklace and a black Gucci bag hanging from the arm. The only thing to complete the spoiled girl look if there was a little cute doggy sticking it’s head out from the bag. She marched her way through the hallway like she owned the place pushing various people out of her way. Enjoying the glances from the boys and the girls envious looks but she noted that a small minority of girls hanging their heads in fear, trying to avoid eye contact. As well they should, over the past few years most of the female population of Hammel, have heard horror stories about the things she’s done to those who has crossed her. Most of them wild and untrue, but far be it for Ellen to discourage the rumours. If it keeps an air of intimidation. Then it serves it purpose.
She was walking along as calm and collected as can be. When she felt someone bump into her shoulder, causing her to stumble backwards and drop her bag spilling its contents everywhere. She cursed under her breath as she took off her glasses and swore under her breath and leant down and collected her lipstick and make up into her bag. “You should really watch where you’re going…” Ellen muttered to the culprit not taking her eyes off the bags content.
