Powers: Empathy: The ability to gleen emotions from the people around her simply by being in the same room or vicinity of them. However, because of her Empathic powers she has several weaknesses. When the power is full open or she loses control she is incapable of truly concentrating on anything but the emotions. The more powerful the emotions the harder it is for her to stomach them and sometimes they almost meld onto her own emotions making her feel what they feel. Prolonged use of the empathic abilities creates massive migraines that put her out of commission from hours to days depending on the amount of strain caused by the usage.

General Appearance: Kai is a very slender girl. She doesn't have much in the way of curves to her. Having been trained as a ballerina since she was only three years old, she has a very willowy form. Standing at only five feen four inches, she's short in stature. Her slender frame allows for her to have a slightly boney look when you see her shoulders.
Her skin tone is a soft pale olive color that is prevalent in the Asian areas. She has long dark hair that is most often seen with a bit of a wave to it. It's a dark brown with red streaks that she added herself flowing within. Her eyes are large and almond shaped, carrying the soft brown orbs that are often referred to as 'teddy bear' or 'puppy' eyes because with the emotional overload her eyes show how she is feeling first.
Kai is very athletic, even while thin, the body that she does have is covered in slight wirey muscles. Her legs are powerhouses from her years of ballet training and have quite a bit of muscle hidden beneath the skin.
Personality:
Kai tends to keep to herself most of the time. The further people are from her the better she is able to control her power. She struggles with it sometimes because if she is tired or having a bad day she finds it much harder to control. Still, when you are able to get to know Kai and get her to open up you will find that she's very sweet and tends to be kind of silly and goofy. She's always ready for a laugh and trying new things if she can.
Kai loves to dance, and when she has problems concentrating she likes to put on her ballet shoes and find a place to dance. It seems to help her center her mind and find a place where she can just be herself. School work is something that Kai isn't one to put to the side, she tries to get good grades and constantly strives to be on top. Part of her raising. However, there are times that it's very hard for Kai to concentrate because of her powers. Lack of sleep can effect how easily she can control her powers keeping others' emotions locked out. Thus, on days that she is tired or distracted for other reasons, she has a hard time concentrating on her school work.
Striving to be the best also takes it's toll on Kai. Not just with dancing but with her school work Kai tends to put a lot of pressure on herself. She was raised that being the best is the only way to truly be accepted. Thus, Kai studies harder than many of the other students to constantly achieve more. This too takes it's toll on the young teenager. There are days that she feels unable to leave the bed or breaks down completely wondering why she stresses herself out so very much. In the end, she knows it'll only be for the best, and usually when she gets this stressed out she will dance, or lose herself into some music. Re-center herself.Your VicesLikes:

Kai-Belle, was born to a Chinese man and his wife. Her father, Richard, was born just barely in the United States and thus was able to stay as a citizen. Close to her heritage, her Grandfather and Grandmother lived with them until they both passed away during her childhood. Kai was a normal girl as she started growing up. She loved all the things girls love. Princesses, dreams of princes, loved her parents.
At three Kai started ballet. Instantly, she loved it. The tutus, pretty shoes, the little ballerinas in costume prancing across the stage. Kai put all her efforts into practicing and taking as many classes as her family could afford. Kai's brother was much more into music and he took classes down the street from her ballet studio.
When Kai was five her little sister was born. The introduction of Meme didn't really hit home until she also began ballet at three. At this time Kai was eight and beginning to really get into doing shows on stage. Kai and her siblings attended a regular school and then a Chinese Culture school after school so that they would not lose their cultural aspects of Chinese life. Thus, she is fluent in both English and Chinese.
Kai lived her life with the sole dream of being a ballerina. But everything changed when she was twelve. At school, she noticed that she had finally 'become a woman' as the teacher's called it. On this day, the power seemed to snap into place and all the emotions around her invaded in on her mind.
At first she tried to keep it quiet. She knew that she might be a meta-human but she didn't want to be. She wanted to be a ballerina. She tried her best to remain normal. Not let it show. She didn't make it three hours. She ended up standing up in the classroom and screaming for everyone to shut up! She was sent to the nurse who contacted her parents. They came in and found her sitting all curled up in the corner of a cot. They knew instantly, something had happened. They knew their daughter was meta-human only they didn't know quite what to do with it.
Fortunately the next day, just two days after she turned twelve the Institute sent a recruiter out to bring the new Empath to the school that would enable her to learn how to control her power. How to close herself off to the emotions of others. She did't want to leave her family but the promise of having a semblance of a normal life was what drove her to go. So at just over twelve, a she entered the school and began her life training to use her powers.
It was rough at first. The emotional overload was something that Kai-Belle had nothing but problems with. There were so many people in the school. Each class was a torture session and Kai started falling more and more into herself. Trying to have as little contact with other people as possible. Hoping that the less friendships she had would help her in her quest for a quiet mind. Throwing herself severely into her studies she closed off.
However, the teachers were not apt to let her suffer. Through their guidance and her hard work she began to learn how to control and work with her empathy. Slowly, she began to reach out to other people. Shyly and slowly. Even now at sixteen, four years after coming to the Institute she finds it hard to really make friends with others. Azure looked up from her mess. To any layman it was a massive pile of wires, circuit boards, and many other things, but to her it would be a computer when she was done with it. An unusual and amazingly effective computer. The boy that was standing at her door way sometimes came in and tried to brave the anti-social mess that was Azure Keller. Trying to be her assistant.
One she didn't need of course.
Azure spun in her chair.
"I see. What is it?"
"The community center needs a new security system."
That wasn't her job, but at the same time getting out of the office and finding something to challenge her brain like creating a state of the art security system for the community center. might make the dull boredom that had sunk in to her mind some days ago slowly fade.
"Okay I'm on my way."
Azure stood up. She was dressed at least half way decent. She wore a triple layer plaid skirt that stopped at her knees and grey tights that hugged her legs. They disappeared into Converse sneakers. On top she wore a white button down shirt that had little plaid patches all over it. She picked up her satchel and a bag of other supplies and headed out. The community center wasn't far and Hawk walked beside her at an easy stride. The white wolf was her constant companion.
She stepped into the community center, she hadn't stepped foot in here since the big festival a couple of months ago. As soon as she opened the door someone rushed over to see what she wanted.
"I'm from the Security Department." she stated. Of course, there was no need to specifiy she was the security department. The person asked her to wait and rushed off to get the person she needed to speak with.What About You?Name: Onyx
