Introducing…

“My great aunt Janina, she was from Poland. She was a gypsy and was in a work camp during world war two. For a long time my parents thought it was because she was a gypsy. My Father wanted to get her to live with us, since my Grandmother had recently died, but she didn’t want to leave where she lived, no matter how old she was.
Ion’s great aunt and his grandmother were meta-humans. That was the main reason why they were sent to Warsaw. Janina read minds. Her sister read emotions. Janina worked on a carnival on the East Coast and every summer, Ion and his family would fly down from Nova Scotia to visit her and try to get her to come home with them. Ion would often be left alone as his parents sat in her tent and tried to convince her to leave. He found himself hanging out with a carnival girl who was a friend of Janina.
“I always envied that girl. She knew my great aunt better than I did. She got to call her ‘Babushka’, even. I tried it once, but she snapped at me. The girl would tell me her name every time I’d visit, but once I left I’d forget it again until the next summer. The summer I turned fourteen, my great aunt died. I gave the girl my address in Nova Scotia after the funeral was over. She gave me the obituary from the newspaper. None of us were mentioned, but she was in it, clear as day. My parents thought it was awful how she had left all her belongings to some carnival girl and none to her own family, but half of the things they didn’t want anyway. I kept the obituary and I highlighted the girl’s name. I swore I’d never forget Lyra Milliner again.”
But, as time passed, Ion did forget Lyra Milliner. The obituary was tossed out, and as he grew older, he learned his grandmother and her sister weren’t the only ones with powers. He found out he had powers too. [The powers can be chosen by the person who plays him.] The Canadian Government came to Ion and offered him a choice; he could go to America to learn to control his powers or he could fly to Switzerland and learn there. He had no other options. His parents jumped on the idea of him going to Europe and he was on a plane to Switzerland in a blink.
“I learned a lot in Switzerland, but I wanted to come home, or close to home, even. I missed my family. I missed everything. My parents got in contact with the school in America, called ‘Hammel’, and I transferred there for my senior year of high school. My powers aren’t totally in control, and I keep hearing a strange name pop up… It sounds familiar, even though it’s not.”
Yeah, so I’m totally pulling the ‘It’s a small world after all’ card here, but hey, I’ve got nothing better to do. The play by is Ben Barnes. The name is negotiable. The powers are up to you. The name of the game is to throw these two together and see if they can fall in love, be friends, or just despise each other. I am hoping for the former.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
