[Gryphon Matsuoka]

Gryph wasn't certain how this would end, but right now, he was happy to let it fly wherever the wind took them. It didn't look like it could do much else other than get better at this point, and that made Gryph grin. The idea of playing games anymore didn't even cross his mind, now it felt almost childish to consider doing.

He'd definitely missed all of this, feeling someone else close to you... like you were almost connected in some way. He didn't hold on hard, but Kodi's hand in his own felt like a lifeline of sorts. A simple small source of comfort. He smiled gently, pivoting his head slightly on Kodi's shoulder so he could look up at him better, "So does yours." He kept his eyes on the boy for a few more seconds, before rolling his sight back down and watching the road; the lights, the little sounds, the moment when Kodi's head lay on top of his own. All the simple details that made this feel almost naturally perfect. His eyelids lowered and he breathed out slowly, trying to calm the constant buzzing in his chest.

Why did the bus have to come now? He was so comfortable... he followed Kodi onto the bus (he'd been following Kodi quite a bit recently, but he didn't mind too badly). He dug into his pocket to get some money, but found that Kodi had paid for him. Another smile grew on his face as he relaxed his arm in his pocket and put his other hand in his other pocket, going to the back and sitting next to the boy. It was a little warmer now, the bus probably had some kind of heating system or something, but it was a little more comfortable temperature-wise, for whatever reason. He looked at the seat in front of him until Kodi spoke, letting his mind wander for a second before twisting his head to look at him as he spoke. He tilted his head in recognition, "Ok." He didn't feel like much more needed to be said.

Gryphon looked down at the boy as he relaxed onto his side, smiling warmly and placing his head on top of the blonde boy's, reversing the roles from earlier. He didn't know how long they would be, but he was a little drowsy, so he just watched the fast moving surroundings of the world outside of their bubble, before letting his eyes close again. He was more content in that moment than he had been in a long while.

Mmmm.... Kodi's head was feeling all warm and fuzzy and so unusual, that fact alone nearly made him freak out. You told yourself you weren't going to get close to people, he thought, even as he rested drowsily against his... Companion. You're just going to end up getting hurt. You know that.

Shut up,[/u] he thought wearily. He wasn't in the mood for fighting right now, with anyone or himself. Kodi just... Wanted to try to enjoy this for however long it lasted. The warmth of the bus and the soft, comfortable presence of Gryphon next to him was enough to make Kodi's mind wander in an almost half-asleep daze.

Fortunately, the bus announced whenever it was making a stop, so he managed to muster himself awake when the signal that their stop was coming up rang out. "Mmm... That's our cue," he mumbled tiredly, yawning as he sat up a little straighter. When the bus stopped, he stood and, making sure Gryphon was coming, stepped off and back outside in the cold, shivering as the cool air hit him. "It's just over there," he said, pointing towards a quaint-looking cafe on the corner. He glanced up at Gryphon, then down at his hand, and snagged his hand again, lacing their fingers together. For warmth. Yeah.

Fortunately, it was warm inside the shop, and Kodi gave a sigh of relief as he stepped up to the counter. He wasn't usually one for sweets, but he picked out a scone and ordered a hot chocolate, because why the fuck not, it was cold outside and he was in a mood. He waited for Gryphon to order whatever he wanted before standing off to the side to wait for their drinks to be made. "I'm tired," he mumbled, giving a big yawn. Here, in the warm, quiet intimacy of the shop, Kodi was having a difficult time meeting Gryph's eyes. It felt too... Normal. Couple-y. And they weren't a couple.

Gryphon couldn't exactly recall all of his thoughts during that journey; a lot of them looped back around to the boy who lay his head on his shoulder, but they were otherwise quite varied and random. Another person who kept coming to mind... was Nick. He tried to fight it, but it was difficult. The boy's dark hair, brown eyes, sharp features all came into the view of his mind's eye and laughed at him menacingly, commenting on his naivety and trying to convince him that this would all end in flames, just like it had between the two of them, because Gryph was just some disgusting queer guy. It was mental torture, and ripped him on the inside; he had to use every bit of his being to keep himself from reacting physically to his horrible thoughts, concealing them.

Gryph replaced them, instead, with everything that made him feel safe, and happy. He thought about his photography, and wondered about taking some night-time shots around the city at some point. The lights were really beautiful... he also thought about his dancing, his mind choreographing a routine to show his emotions of confusion and hurt over Nick, as well as the overwhelming present ones of joy and excitement. He was pretty certain that he smiled widely at least once, but- Kodi had spoken. He became a little more present and fluttered his eyelids open, taking in the low light. He rolled his neck and grunted quietly in reply, sitting up and then waiting until the bus halted before standing up and getting off.

The cold air was like a brick wall, it made Gryph shake a little violently at first, before getting used to the change in heat. His sight followed Kodi's pointing arm and he nodded, "Alright." The place seemed pretty nice, nothing fancy or silly. He felt fingers lock around his, and looked down at his hand intertwined with Kodi's, his head still pointed down at them as he looked at the boy from almost behind his fringe, smiling. (He needed a haircut.)

The wave of warmth washed over Gryphon and he cracked his back a little, straightening up. He didn't really mind what he got, so he just chose the first cake he saw, some cupcake, and ordered a hot chocolate as well. The corners of his mouth flicked up at Kodi's announcement, "So am I." He sighed, still feeling vaguely vacant from his kind-of power nap. He looked at Kodi, but... he wasn't looking back. He frowned; maybe the light was straining his eyes? "Hey, y'alright?"

He wasn't sure how to do this, what was he supposed to say next? He was fine as it was, just being around Kodi was good enough for him at the moment, but... he pecked the boy on the cheek, cupping a hand under his chin as he did. It was such a cliche move, but... argh! He didn't know what to do!

Kodi couldn't relate about the relationship stuff, fortunately or unfortunately. He'd never allowed himself to get that close to someone; it'd always been about the physical stuff, about fucking and macking on each other and then kicking them out or leaving, depending where he was. This whole situation was going about in a way he wasn't used to... And it frightened him, to some degree. But... Also sort of excited him. Urgh. Feelings.

He didn't notice if Gryph was smiling or not, but he had his own content little ghost of a smile on his lips the whole ride.

"Mm... This seems a bit outta control," he smirked, reaching up to run his fingers through Gryphon's longish bangs. It was a silly, dumb movement that he sort of regretted a moment later; it was soft and not in his usual behavior to do something like that, so he turned and pretended it hadn't happened. Stupid gorgeous boy.

It was the first time Kodi had really noticed their height difference, for some reason; Gryphon was a good three or four inches taller than he was, which made the southerner feel even smaller and less confident as they stood there waiting. When Gryph asked if he was okay, Kodi peeked up, almost shyly, and gave a tiny nod. "Just... Tired," he half-lied. His eyes did feel heavy, but he also just felt... Exposed in this bright light, after hanging around Gryph outside in the dark for so long, and on the dim bus. He felt like... Gryphon would see him for who he really was in here, broken and violent, like invisible scars on his skin.

But then... Kodi's cheeks got hot in the next moment, feeling that soft little peck on his face, and he blinked incredulously up at his companion. All of a sudden, he felt weak in the knees, which was dumb, that didn't actually happen to people, right? "Better be more of those when we get back t'Hammel," he finally managed with a faint, wry smile, just as their drinks were finished. Kodi paid for his and snagged the order, waiting for Gryphon before he walked back out into the cold, clutching his cup of hot chocolate and trying to suck the heat from it. "So, uh... What... Are your hobbies, anyway?" he asked, trying to start up a conversation for once. "I mean... Other than dancin' an' kissin' boys without warnin'."

Gryph blew a stream of air up at his bangs, making the strands of hair fly up and away from his head, flapping in the air, "I'll sort it out at some point..." he stated, grinning in a silly, grumpy sort of way. He used his free hand and ruffle his fringe back to it perfectly messed up style, giving up a little when the hair fell in front of his eyes for at least the third time.

Kodi wasn't that much shorter, surely? He was... kind of used to being taller that practically everybody at Hammel, bar a few members of staff and other students, but... he was shorter than he'd realized. Not that that was a problem, not at all.

He was just... tired? Gryphon had a hard time believing that it was just that, but he... didn't know what else it could be. He continued to to frown silently, but it was more subtle now.

Gryph didn't know that his little kiss had had such an effect on the shorter boy, but he grinned now, "You can look forward t'it." He set down his money and left with the boy, clutching onto his drink like his life depended on it, eager to get something warm into his system. He was just taking his first sip as the boy asked his question. He chuckled at the added comment, his breath becoming clouds again, "Well, I have been dancin' for ages," he took another sip of the liquid chocolate, "But I like photography too. The weather's rubbish for it though. Also love flyin' but y'know... winter is a bitch." He drank again, after his little life statement. "What about you?" Hw wanted to add a snarky comment, but was lost on what to be snarky about.

The promise of more kisses sent a thrill through Kodi that he quickly tried to stifle. Ugh, this was stupid! He'd never gotten excited over just dumb kisses before. He was being stupid. Gryph was making him stupiddddd. It gave him a small ray of expectation that maybe it might lead to something else, but he squished that idea. No, he didn't... Want to rush into that for once. He didn't... Want to see Gryphon as just another fuck toy. Not until he figured out these dumb emotions a little more.

"Yeah, I could tell," Kodi mumbled quietly, taking a sip of his drink. Mmm... It wasn't too bad. A little sweet, but he could handle it. And, thankfully, it was warm. "Takes a lotta dancin' t'get a sick-ass body like that, I'm sure." He smirked into the lid of his cup, and, in a moment of cheekiness, reached over and pinched Gryphon's side. "Hope I get t'see it again sometime." The photography thing was unexpected, and Kodi considered this for a moment. "Need any models?" he joked, being completely sarcastic. He didn't think he was very photogenic, he didn't go out of his way to be in pictures. "Flyin' must be pretty fuckin' cool," he stated, looking up at the sky again.

They turned the corner and kept walking; fortunately, Hammel was pretty close, they'd arrive soon enough. As Gryph returned the question, Kodi tried to think of a good answer. Truth was... He didn't have a lot of hobbies. "I... I dunno," he mumbled, scuffing his shoe against the ground as he walked. "I... Read... A lot." Openly admitting that was weird; Kodi hoped he didn't regret telling the guy. "But don't tell people that," he added quickly, brow furrowing. "I gotta reputation t'keep." He sighed and relaxed again a moment later. "Uh... I dunno, I don't really have a lot of... Wholesome hobbies, I guess," he admitted. Drinking, picking fights, and sex weren't exactly things he wanted to share.

Gryphon didn't want to bore Kodi with the specific details of his dancing. Honestly and truly, it just seemed like a way his dad found to get him out of the house and doing something away from him. He was like... 5? Or something? When he started dancing a little, so his dad funded multiple lessons a week. It was hard work, but he enjoyed it.

Gryph chuckled bashfully into his cup, even though it was... technically the truth, "Yeah, 13 years of it." He squirmed a little when Kodi pinched him (maybe he was a little ticklish...), "You will, don't worry yourself." It was a bit... weird confirming everything instead of joking around about it. But... it was probably for the best, yeah?

He smirked into his cup at Kodi's sudden interest in 'modeling', "Nah," he preferred to take shots of still life anyway, "But that would be pretty interestin'..." he mumbled. Even though the other boy was joking, Gryph looked at his face, his eyes... you could probably make some pretty dramatic shadows there. Black and white, possibly. Hmm... he was getting distracted. He could think about the boy's modeling possibilities in the future, anyway.

"It is." He felt a tingle go down his spine as he thought about it... he needed to go up again soon. His wings had been lazy, and he hadn't been communicating with any birds either, which probably needed to change. He'd... been considering trying to fly with another person, in the sense of actually carrying them, but... that's a lot of burden. It was probably something he could work on, even after Hammel.

He was intrigued, listening to Kodi's mumbled, rambley speech about his own hobbies... well, hobby. He nodded understandingly at the reputation comment; Gryph himself didn't care about his reputation really, or how other people viewed him. It wouldn't make him change who he was... but that seemed to be the opposite case for Kodi. I guess, if you put up such a violent front, people won't feel threatened once they see you quietly reading.

Gryphon tried to ignore the negative and focused on the positive, "I wish I could enjoy readin', but my eyes just get confused." He sighed, he hadn't been diagnosed with anything, he just wasn't very good at reading. He found it somewhat easier to read Korean, though. But now he was finding it strangely... difficult to look at the other boy. He couldn't pinpoint the feeling, but he didn't like it.

He took another sip of his drink and looked forward, the school was right up ahead, they'd be inside in less than a minute.

"13 years? Damn," Kodi whistled. He knew Oriel danced; he wondered if the two knew each other, but decided not to bring it up. "All I do is weight lift an' shit. Just t'keep the guns nice an' big," he smirked, flexing his coat-covered arms. But, heh... The promise of getting to see Gryphon's deliciously sculpted muscles again practically made the southern boy drool. Mmmmm...

Kodi hadn't expected Gryphon to take his 'offer' so seriously, and averted his gaze as the other boy looked at him more closely, lips pursing slightly. "Whadaya think? Modeling material?" he joked. He rubbed his thumb under his eyes, suddenly self-conscious that his eyeliner might have smeared, and nibbled on his scone as a distraction.

Flying did seem pretty amazing though. "I'll take your word for it. I only flew once, when I was brought t'Hammel... That shit terrified me." He didn't want to go on planes again anytime soon. The thought of one crashing and burning... Nope. Did not want to think about.

Kodi was afraid for a moment that his response might have turned off the other guy, but on the contrary, he seemed to be making light of it. "Do y'wear glasses?" he asked, glancing up. "I... I gotta wear 'em..." Gryphon wouldn't have seen him with them, he didn't wear them in public. He sensed a sort of weird vibe go up between them, though, and, in a slight panic, snagged his fingers onto Gryphon's coat, not even thinking of what he was doing. He kept quiet, gaze pointed at the ground with a tight look.

Fortunately, they had reached the school, and Kodi was saved from any awkward explanation for his sudden grab as they reached the dorms and stepped into the warmth. Kodi let his hand slip away from the cloth and trudged up the stairs to the boys' dorms, quickly going into his room and depositing his half-consumed drink and scone on his bedside table. "Uh... Make yourself comfortable, I guess," he mumbled, scratching the back of his head before shedding his coat. He felt awkward and uncertain, now that they were really alone with the door closed. His eyes wandered around the room as he tried to think of something funny or sarcastic to say; nothing came to mind.

"Mhmm." Gryph confirmed, nodding, practically wrapped around his drink, which was slowly depleting. He didn't really do much weight lifting himself... which probably needed to change.

He chuckled (almost giggled) at Kodi's attempt at being a model. It was comically terrible, "You're gorgeous." He replied, teasingly. He saw the boy wipe under his eye and... some kind of instinct made him reach over awkwardly and wipe off as much of the smudge as he could in one go. He snatched his arm away afterwards, sipping his drink again.

The idea of flying being scary was alien to Gryphon, seeing as he had been doing so for a large portion of his life so far and enjoyed it thoroughly, but he let it slide, picking off one of the weird decorational things on his mini cake and eating it.

"Nah, I don't." He mused, "I'd... like to see your's sometime." Maybe he did need them? He wasn't sure, he needed to go have an eye-check. He hadn't really... noticed anything though, so... it didn't really seem necessary. His line of sight flicked towards the boy when he felt the tension on his jacket. What...?

He didn't have much more time to think about it, since they were inside now. His head still buzzed with slight confusion, but he left it. "Ok." He simply affirmed as he took his jacket off. He paused for a second, putting his food and drink down, "Can... can I get my wings out?" He felt like he should ask; they ached against his back, telling him that they needed to come out.

You're gorgeous. Kodi had no idea if Gryphon really meant it or not, but it made him smile nonetheless. "Not half as much as you, moron," he replied, voice low and amused. He thought he was alright, but he wore makeup for a reason - there were parts of himself he didn't like, like most people. He blinked and paused as he felt Gryph's finger slide against his skin, face heating up under the touch. "Uh... Th-thanks," he mumbled, not sure if he should be embarrassed, grateful, or irritated. He went with a mixture of all three.

"What, my glasses?" he snorted, shaking his head. "I look like a complete nerd." Which, considering his 'hobbies', was pretty accurate. "Ain't nothin' t'see." He had those stupid thick-rimmed glasses that hipsters liked to wear as fashion statements, only his were real. He thought they looked the least bad out of all the ones he'd tried on.

Kodi flopped down on his bed, facing up towards the ceiling, and rested his hands behind his head. When Gryphon spoke, he peeked over, raising an eyebrow. "Um, yeah, sure," he shrugged, seeing no harm. Wait... Did that mean he was going to...? Kodi was suddenly much more alright with Gryph letting the appendages out. More than okay. "I bet they get all cramped up, bein' tucked away all day, huh?" he asked, rolling over to lay on his stomach with his feet hanging off of the opposite side of the bed. His chest felt fluttery. "You ever get, like... Massages for that, or anythin'?" It seemed a genuine concern; he knew it wasn't good to keep muscles tight all day and not stretch them or knead them out.

How many times had Kodi called Gryph a moron now? He'd lost count, but he still smirked and chuckled at how the boy bounced his compliment back. He honestly thought Kodi was hot as fuck, but he put it across as a kind of joke... he still wasn't used to complimenting him like that, he wasn't sure Kodi would take him seriously.

"Sorry," he said after a few moments, he didn't mean to-it was an-why did he-ugh. He rubbed his fingers together to get the make up off, all the while wondering why he wore it. It didn't look bad, or anything, but it didn't seem... necessary. Gryph left it down to artistic choice; people preferred to wear make up and that was fine.

His eyebrows lifted and he tilted his head a little, "You probably don't." He had a kind of... thing for guys in glasses. He thought Kodi was hot now, make him put a pair of glasses on and Gryph would go mental.

It might've still been a little cold, but being cold was better than feeling constant pain. He nodded at Kodi's... permission, taking off his shirt and stretching his back and shoulder muscles, which helped his wings to unfold. He spread them out as far as they would go, making sure not to hit anything (or anyone), before letting them relax a little. He did this almost every-time he got them out; they weren't particularly designed to stay folded up for long periods of time. "They do, it's torture. It's better in summer, I can go 'round with them out and not freeze t'death." He had a few shirts with holes in the back for training, and when he went flying in winter, but they still constricted the movement a little and were a pain to get into.

Gryph's attention turned back to the boy when he spoke, shrugging his shoulders, "Not really. Don't really have anyone t'do it for me, and," He tried to stretch an arm around to emphasise his point; it was too difficult, "I can't do it myself." He let himself fall onto a chair, still contorting his body. He really needed to crack back... but... it wouldn't... uugh.

Kodi just shrugged at the apology, still feeling like his skin was hot where Gryph had touched it; that kept happening, too, he did't know why. It just left a strange tingling that was weird but... Not entirely unpleasant.

He sighed, rolled his eyes up at Gryph as he spoke again. "I mean, I guess if you want t'see them that badly, it wouldn't hurt," he mumbled. He'd put them on when they got back to the room... Just for a moment.

Ugh. Ugh. Why had Kodi given Gryph permission to do that, now he was left gawking up as his companion stripped like it was no big deal, lips slightly parted and eyes not leaving the boy's figure as it was revealed. He looked away briefly to watch Gryphon's wings spread out, but settled back on his dance-toned torso soon after. Almost cheekily, he reached over and pulled his desk drawer open, grabbing his glasses and putting them on as he made no effort to hide how much he was checking Gryphon out. "Uh-huh," he replied a little distractedly, only half-hearing what the guy was saying. "I can't wait for summer, then." He finally glanced back up at Gryph's face and gave a broad, playful grin.

"That... Is a shame," he drawled, brow creasing. Of course, this only spurred the idea that had sparked in his head. "Hey, no, that ain't a place for a guest t'sit," he complained, wiggling off his bed to go and tug Gryphon off the chair and onto the bed. "Lay down on your stomach. I'm pretty damn great at relievin' tension." Assuming Gryph did as he was instructed, Kodi sat on his knees by the boy's side, reaching down to feel out the muscles around Gryphon's wings. They were strange, and not something Kodi was familiar with, but he could work with it. "Tell me where it feels the tightest," he instructed, and began kneading the muscles directly around the wings, gradually moving out to shoulder muscles he was more familiar with. Wherever it hurt most, was where Gryphon needed the most work. Of course, Kodi was enjoying himself immensely, so this wasn't all for Gryph's benefit...

Gryph had to restrain from giggling like a kid who just got told that they were getting an Xbox. Instead he smirked and tried not to ruin the surprise for himself by thinking about it too much.

He should've realized what Kodi's reaction was gonna be, if he'd cast his memories back to their first meeting where he took his shirt off and the guy just gawked. But as soon as he turned back to Kodi, ready with some kind of whitty remark on the edge of his tongue, he froze. Oh. Fuck. Whydidhehavetoputhisglassesonnow? Gryph felt his breath and catch and shook his head, trying to distract himself. Ugh, this was difficult, he just wanted to- he smiled back quirking an eyebrow. Of course, his facial expression had dramatically changed, but he tried to play it off cool. And was doing so terribly but he'd have time to stare later.

Kodi pulled Gryph up out of his seat and he gave him a quizzical look. Still, he listened to his instructions and followed them, climbing on and lying down, "Sure you are." he joked. Of course, he didn't know if Kodi was gonna actually help or if he was just gonna break his wings or something, but he was rolling with it, which meant letting whatever happen, happen, so he stayed on his stomach.

He squirmed at first, on feeling Kodi touch his back (even though he knew it was gonna happen), but relaxed soon after, letting him do... whatever he was doing. When Kodi moved over a certain section of his back, he groaned loudly- fuck that hurt! His face tensed up and he tried his best not to bite his lip in doing so. "This's... supposed t'help?" he grunted through clenched teeth. It wasn't the worst pain but... it huuuurrrt.

Kodi rose a confused eyebrow at Gryphon as the guy turned and stared back, as though he'd done something particularly noteworthy. They were just dumb glasses, he looked silly in them. Still, Gryph seemed better at hiding his gawking than Kodi was, so the southern boy let it slide, his only movement being to push the glasses up higher on the bridge of his nose.

"I am!" Kodi insisted. He was strong enough and had used his hands enough to develop a lot of gripping strength from lifting weights, which helped to get really deep into stubborn muscles. "Might hurt a bit though," he warned. If it did, he was doing it right. Hmm... He was almost getting the same sort of satisfaction from this as he got from picking fights with people. It was a difference kind of pain being inflicted though... A beneficial kind. He tucked that thought into the back of his head and got to work.

He giggled as Gryphon squirmed, moving to pin his knees over Gryphon's legs so he couldn't move around too much. As soon as he heard the telltale groan of a tight, sore muscle, he leapt on it, kneading and digging into the muscle with great relish. All the while, he tried to ignore the stirrings in the pit of his stomach that Gryphon's pained sounds were making. He couldn't think about that. Nope. "Yeah, it'll... Feel great after..." he nodded. "Promise." His mouth split into an ecstatic grin as he continued his work until he finally deemed his job done. It was a shortish session, but Gryph's muscles should feel a bit looser, at least. Kodi sat back on his heels, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared down at Gryphon's back. "Feel any better?" he asked, adjusting his glasses once again. "Or do I need t'keep goin'?"

Urgh. He was dying. For some people, it was a certain hair colour, for others, eye colour and for some, it would be am accent, but for Gryph, Kodi in glasses was just... painfully irresistible.

"Oh, ok," he contemplated the possible pain; eh, he'd be fine. He'd broken bones before and he was still alive, what could one tense muscle do in comparison to that?

"Hey!" He whined when he felt pressure added to his legs, "Is that necessary?" He moaned, trying to worm his way out. He didn't like being constricted, it was frustrating.

When Kodi showed no sign of holding back, Gryph physically couldn't hold back his grunts of pain. He wasn't used to his muscles being messed with, and it felt funny, as well as hurting. Arrgghh... he so wanted to kill Kodi right now. He twisted his head back enough to catch the grin that was zipped on his mouth. Gryphon mumbled something about that not being a face he would trust, but he kind of spoke it into the bed and all you could hear was, "Unnfugh uh ugunhaguo..."

Gryph strained his head up so he could speak, "I don't even know... ugh." He pulled back his legs, regaining ownership of them and swivelling around so he was sat up, rolling his shoulders back. He saw Kodi readjust his glasses... oh for fuck's sake. He was struggling so badly right now he was almost shaking. He tried to think of something to say but he couldn't conjure anything up, so he settled for looking at Kodi.
