[Calliope Gallo]

Valentine's Day was a day that couples spent between themselves. Callie knew this. She'd waited through the day completely without making a move to visit the person her mind drifted to idly. She was probably busy. Of course she was - she was absolutely gorgeous. After everything that happened, she hadn't been avoiding the girl, but they hadn't talked about it. Hadn't referenced it. And hadn't fallen into that situation again.

But the urge to visit was overwhelming, and soon enough Callie found herself leaving her dorm and breaching the minimal distance to visit her. Tentatively, she decided to knock before trying the door a moment later, realising it wasn't locked.

The common room was empty, and that made her worry involuntarily. Maybe someone had whisked the pyrokinetic away for the night. So she made her way towards her friend's door and again, made a point of knocking before she tried to open it.

Sammy had a long standing Valentine's Day ritual that she had abandoned only twice in her entire life. Once because Joe had treated the whole family to dinner that particular night with his very first paycheck, and the second time was to spend it with Calliope and Carleigh their first year in Hammel.

But this year, even with Beau looming around the corners of her mind with his guitar and his smile and the rest of it occupied with another blonde who could dance circles around her, and has in fact done so several times before, Sammy was going to stick to her guns. The Notebook on her laptop, her big bowl of ridiculously buttered popcorn and a mound of tissues already by her side as she sobbed at the boat scene.

Sammy heard the knock but made no move to turn to the person, waving them in and hardly caring that she looked like a mess. Nobody should ever be clean when The Notebook was involved. "Come...on in, get a chair." She said in between sniffles. "They're at the best part." Sammy whispered as she grabbed a tissue to blow her nose in.

The sight Callie saw wasn't exactly what she expected. Truly, she expected her friend to be out. Away. With someone. The fact that she was alone caused Callie to smile involuntarily. Selfishly.

Thankfully, Sammy hadn't even looked at her.

Though, she wasn't really sure if that was a good thing. She felt like something of a generalised entity, but as she was waved in, she made no move to deny the pyrokinetic. How could she? Calliope felt compelled to walk in and so she did, moving to settle beside her on the bed. Hopefully the proximity alone would actually grant her attention.

"Hey," She said as she'd sat, looking at her as opposed to the screen she held so dear.

Even before Calliope moved to the bed to sit down and vocalise her greeting, Sammy somehow knew exactly who it was.

Sammy fully regretted just how ridiculous she looked in her loose grey sweatshirt and black tights, with her hair up in a messy bun, tear streaks down her face, her nose red and her eyes puffed.

Her greasy hand made to move the tissues away, cringing when they all fluttered to the ground by Calliope's feet. "So sorry." Sammy sniffled as she closed the laptop and put it on her desk, along with the tissue box and bowl of popcorn. Bending down, she picked up the used tissues and dumped them into her little plastic bin.

Looking around for some wet wipes, she used it on her buttered fingers before joining the other blonde on the bed, their close proximity a habit she should probably grow out of. And soon.

"Hi. Sorry for the mess. You know me and Valentine's Day." She gave a small laugh, wiping at her eyes a little.

Callie found herself oblivious to the regret Sammy was feeling. She let her move about the room, shifting things and putting things away. At first she tried to open her mouth and offer up the fact that she didn't need to stop watching on her account. But that felt pointless - she didn't have the time.

"Don't apologise." She replied in time, though she knew those words would fall on deaf ears.

The proximity choice she made was hardly lost on Callie. She did her absolute best not to lean further into it. Not now.

"I do know. It's why I came to see you." She admitted simply, unable to shift her gaze away from her. It was impossible to look away. She had to force herself to, so she opted to fall back onto her friend's bed and stare up at the ceiling. "But... Y'know, I thought you might've had a date, or something."

Calliope was right, the remark did fall on deaf ears.

Her next statement didn't, however. The drop in the other's gaze was sorely noted but had it been the other way around, Sammy was pretty sure she couldn't meet her best friend's gaze either. Seeing her like this though, Sammy had to resist every urge she had to reach out and run her fingers through that silky head of hair, or stroke those soft-looking cheeks, or kiss those damning lips.

Immediately thinking of Beau when Calliope mentioned a date, Sammy pursed her lips and sighed softly. Even if he had asked, Sammy would have said no. She didn't know why this tradition was so important to her. Especially such an arbitrary one like this but she liked to keep her word to herself every now and again.

"I didn't want to break tradition." Sammy responded, playing with the bit of her comforter where it had jutted up in her jostling around. The thought that Calliope had come here even when she thought Sammy had a date made her heart thump a little too loudly in her ears, causing her cheeks to redden a little. "So here I am," she gave out a nervous chuckle before scratching the back of her head.

Callie's gaze traversed the ceiling of her friend's bedroom, missing any look she wore on her face primarily. The only time she glanced back at her was when she heard her breath a small, delicate sigh. Callie's gaze immediately fell to the pyrokinetic's pursed lips.

She couldn't help but laugh softly at her response. She felt a little less nervous, like a wave of relief had washed over her features at the news.

The colour on her cheeks wasn't lost on the half-Greek dancer, either. She felt her heartbeat instantly quicken, and she made no move to try and calm that.

Glancing back towards her face again, Calliope felt a little comforted by the fact that she was lying down on her bed. Idly, she chose to pat the small space beside her, and her eyes turned up to the ceiling again.

In time, Callie exhaled the words; "I missed you."

It was only when Calliope patted the bed that Sammy made any motion to move, adjusting herself so she was lying down beside her best friend, the act bringing back the memory of them being in this position not too long ago. It was weird that not too long ago, this act had brought comfort yet now it was bringing back a whole lot more than that. Though pleasant and wanted, felt a little less friendly.

Calliope's words made Sammy gulp and breathe out raggedly though at a very low volume. Thoughts of anything and anybody else seemed to quell as Sammy turned to lie on her side, pulling Calliope's hand in hers, bringing it up to her lips. Kissing it with her eyes squeezed shut, Sammy whispered back, "I've missed you too."

It seemed to weigh so heavy despite being the words that rarely brought any weight if said to anybody else.

She rested her forehead against Calliope's shoulder and sighed softly. "I hope you hadn't thought that I've been avoiding you..." her voice trailed at the end.

As soon as Callie felt a familiar form settled beside her, she knew she felt a little nervous. It was rare for her to ever feel that way. She wasn't quite sure what to do with the emotion.

She turned her head to watch as Sammy shifted, and she allowed her hand to be taken hold of. Kissed, gently. She allowed herself to feel the concept of a reconnection. It was enthralling to be missed. And it was wonderful to believe it.

"I didn't." Callie reassured her. "Besides, I think on some level, we were both avoiding..." She paused momentarily, offering her hand a small squeeze; "This."

Them. Together in a room. This room.

It made Sammy feel ridiculously happy that Calliope had felt the same thing about being here together. But at the same time, the moment the other blonde finished her sentence, it filled Sammy with a small amount of dread. Should she attempt to move? Should she say this was a mistake?

That thought made her ache. She did not want to think being with the person she loved dearly was a mistake. She wanted this, and on some level, Calliope wanted it too. Or at least that was what Sammy wanted to believe.

"I guess so." Sammy sighed, waiting a few moments before releasing Calliope's hand to pull up her sweater where it had rode down her bare shoulder. "Should I just stop touching you?" She asked, her voice small and a little choked up. She couldn't help the misery she felt if the answer to that question was yes.

There was a shift in the air; the mood, erratic. Callie went from feeling elated by her presence and openness to somewhat worried - could it really be so easy to ruin things when she'd only just gotten there?

She felt familiar fingers slip through her own, and instantly, she couldn't help but frown.

"No." Callie replied quickly, reaching out to catch her hand before she moved too far away. Too out of reach. Turning onto her side, Calliope drew her hand towards her lips, pressing them to the her hand slowly. Purposefully. "I don't want you to stop."

Glancing towards her briefly, Callie opted to hold the back of her hand towards her mouth, her lips brushing across her skin with each curve of a word; "I just... I don't think I can stop."

A breath of relief escaped her lips and she forced her gaze up to Calliope when the girl turned sideways. Her words had Sammy's breath catch in her throat and for a second, she couldn't breathe properly. She didn't want to stop. At this point in time, with the other blonde so close to her, there was nothing stopping her.

The kisses made parts of her body tingle and her heart quickened with every move the other blonde's lips made. Her eyes moved from Calliope's lips up to her beautiful blue eyes and then down to her lips again. Before she knew it, Sammy had her leg around Calliope's waist while her hands both cupped the other blonde's face, pulling it towards her before their lips pressed against each other.

The urgency she could still remember from their first time together filled this kiss, something else added into the mixture that Sammy couldn't even detect.

Again, Callie felt her mind going blank. She wasn't thinking about her situation, and what this meant for her. What this could do to her in the long run. Because the moment she felt herself being drawn in, she knew she'd lost every ounce of willpower she'd been carrying.

And truthfully, it wasn't all that much to begin with.

She offered purposeful eye contact when she felt familiar hands pressed against her cheeks. She allowed herself to be drawn forward and kissed.

Without missing a beat, Callie reciprocated the kiss. She ran her hands across her arm, slowly down her side and towards the small of her back. She could feel the encompassing urgency pour from the pyrokinetic's lips, and she couldn't help but reciprocate that eagerly. But her hands traversed her body slowly; intently. She touched gently, but kissed with generous force.

"I missed everything about you." She whispered against her lips, her mouth curling into an involuntary smile as she moved to kiss her again. It mightn't have been smart, but when it came to this girl Callie really couldn't help herself. She wanted to give her all the attention and sweetened words she deserved.

Sammy, for all her naivete, couldn't help but be hyper aware of the fact that Calliope's purposeful gaze made it a lot harder for her to control her abilities as arousal was one factor that drove her abilities a little wild. Fortunately enough, it only just made the room ridiculously hot and because do to the absence of fire, Sammy did not burn her best friend up.

Her body was reacting positively to the touches and she moved closer to her blonde best friend, pressing whatever inch of her body against her.

Sammy's smile softened at Calliope's words, a warmth that was not caused by her ability washing over her. Even in her fevered state, Sammy was still trying to stay in control of her abilities so it didn't completely drench them in sweat and make them catch hypothermia. Romantic.

Reciprocating the kiss eagerly, Sammy toned down her ability until she could feel the cold tickle her bare shoulder. Her lips moved down to trail the dancer's jaw, biting lightly at every few intervals. "I've missed your skin against my lips..." she sighed, blowing softly against every inch she had kissed.

Her hand moved down to the hem of Callie's shirt, pulling it up to slip her hand under, dragging her fingernails against her taut stomach. "I've missed...touching you."

It was impossible to ignore the way the temperature seemed to shift. It wasn't just that she was flustered, or she was flustered. What Callie knew of her friend's ability wasn't where her mind was in that exact moment, else she might have considered being a little more careful. As it was, she was too far into this now - too engulfed in her presence.

She exhaled a slow breath when the pyrokinetic pressed closer against her, the proximity alone enough to drive her crazy.

Callie felt the smile against her mouth as she kissed her counterpart with such purpose. She believed from that alone that she'd appreciated the words Callie had given her, in tandem with such opportune attention.

She took a careful breath when she started kissing across her jaw, offering eager words against her skin. She accepted absolutely everything offered to her - how could she not? She missed this girl more than she could possibly imagine, and the weight of that had only hit her when she found herself back here again.

"What else did you miss?" Callie asked, trying to adopt a lighter tone to her voice. But it was difficult when she had such little control over her own breathing.
