Many Days in the Life of Melanie Arcadia-Blizzard

Today was fairly uneventful. I worked on my flying, although not much improvement occurred. I think my falcon friend, Checker, laughs at me when I try to fly. He says that, if I was a bird, I'd probably be flying like a pro by now. But I'm not a bird, so I fly like a human- not an pro in any way. The problem is that Checker doesn't really know who to help me. He would be able to teach a bird to fly, but I'm not a bird, and the mechanics of flight for me are different than for him. What I need is a teacher who is a winged human like me. There's some other students with wings like me but I'm scared to approach them. I'm one of the youngest ones here and the older students are scary.
Oh, and also, I got a camera today. My sister, Lola Jee, saved up her money and bought me a nice digital camera. Checker had never seen one before, and I got the most hilarious picture of him looking at it. He also tried to eat it, and I got a nice picture of the inside of his beak. (I attached the first, but not the second). I also took some pictures of Hammel, but I'm afraid to attach them. One of the older kids said if I put any photos of the campus in a journal or anything and they get out to the general public, I'd be diced into little pieces and fed to piranhas. I don't know if it's true or not... but better safe than piranha food, right?
