Cupcakes and stuff [Kodi]

Yep, Gryphon broke Kodi alright. Those were just words that the southern boy had never expected to be directed at him, had never fathomed that he even had a chance at an actual.... Relationship. Because that's what Gryph was interested in, right? Isn't that why people asked other people out? Was so they could get together after a while? Shit, Kodi didn't know how this worked, how was he supposed to know!?

The joke, which normally would have made Kodi smirk, just settled the reality further into his gut, the realization that this handsome, ridiculous, outgoing guy was asking Kodi out.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), Gryph hadn't seen Kodi's more volatile side yet. It had been building up gradually again since their first meeting, but their occasional meet-ups were helping to keep his anger and frustration at bay. Which was... Something Kodi just realized and made him even more bewildered. "You... You ain't see half of the worst of it yet," he finally mumbled, keeping his eyes averted. "I've been pretty fuckin' good lately. I... Don't know how long that'll keep up." Gryphon's reassurances that he wasn't a jerk did nothing to help Kodi; he knew better than anyone how his mind worked.

Kodi took a deep breath, letting out in a slow, hard sigh. "But... I-I mean..." His fingers began to trace idle, nervous shapes against Gryph's stomach. "If... If you want t'go... Out..." He swallowed hard. The term came so unnaturally to him. "I... Don't see any harm..." Fuck... Had he really just accepted? Was this really happening? Kodi let out a sudden, incredulous laugh, shaking his head before flopping down more heavily onto Gryph and hiding his face in the crook of the boy's neck. "You see this!?" he demanded, still snickering, but there was a hint of what sounded like a sob in the laughter as well. "You... You're makin' me go all soft and dumb!" Yes, it was definitely accusatory, but this declaration was probably more amusing than anything else.

Gryph was curious, simply put. That was one of the main reasons why he wanted to ask Kodi out. One of the others was because he hadn't been so happy and confused around someone in ages, and then suddenly... this blonde hair boy appears. But... did he need a reason? He couldn't pinpoint an exact one, there were many clear reasons, and a few which were vague... but he knew, he just wanted to do it. And that was that.

He'd only asked one other person out, and that was... not even saying his name. He'd reacted in a very different way to Kodi, he was instantly happy, beaming and ecstatic. Looking back, that didn't seem... genuine anymore. Not compared to this at least. And that... that actually made him feel a little better.

Kodi always seemed to hint at this, like he was the worst person in the world. And it made no sense to Gryphon. Maybe it was something to do with self esteem? People with low self esteem's usually viewed themselves as worse than they were, so... but that still made no sense, he seemed so outright, confident! Kodi really was a puzzle. But... he wasn't good with words in these situations. He looked at the boy and sighed, a breath catching in his throat as he tried to think of something comforting to say, some way to deny his claims but honestly? He didn't know enough about the guy to say anything useful. So he just took up one of the boy's hands and rubbed it gently, hoping that would help in some way.

It almost tickled, the feeling of Kodi's fingers across his front, but all Gryph did was breath and concentrate on the boy on top of him. He blinked a few times, had he... oh my god, he'd accepted. Gryphon began to smile, and then Kodi went into hysterics. His instant reaction was confusion, but when he was sure it wasn't aimed at him, more at the situation, he laughed along. His doubts cleared a little, this felt better. Kodi was back into complaining 7-year-old mode. "That might not necessarily be a bad thing." he stated, turning his head slightly so the words went more directly into the blonde's ear, he himself grinning from ear to ear, dimple extremely present. He kissed the boy's shoulder rather awkwardly and chuckled again, Kodi was a fucking rollercoaster.

This was about as genuine as it got. There was no way Kodi could have prepared to have been asked this by anyone, especially Gryphon. He would likely be mulling this over and replaying it over and over in his head until he drove himself even crazier.

Kodi glanced down as he felt the other boy's hand slip into his own, and he automatically squeezed back, though his expression was still bewildered and shocked. Eventually, he let himself relax a bit, but not too much. In the back of his mind, he was starting to overthink his decision. What are you doing? You don't do this for a reason. You're just going to get yourself hurt. But his doubts were overridden by his desire and his... Attraction towards Gryphon, and he just couldn't say no.

It didn't mean he wouldn't be wary though. He had to be, for his own safety.

Gryph's own laughter mingled with Kodi's own, until it died off, and he was just left feeling... Pleasantly warm, like he was buzzing. This was.... Better than any alcohol-induced buzz. "M... Maybe not," he slowly admitted, feeling goosebumps rise over his arms at the breath tickling his ear. Seeing that dimple so close up ruined Kodi's self-control - he gave it a quick kiss, just after Gryph's own against his shoulder.

((Since you're not on, I'm just gonna write here that maybe we can go ahead and close it xP I'm not sure what else to have them talk about, so we can just assume they hung out for the day/night whatever? idkkkk))
