"I hope so." Carleigh said, genuinely. She hated seeing people suffer and be affected negatively. Her overbearing optimism was a pain in the ass at times but she had good intentions behind the happiness. Because nightmares sounded... terrible. The poor kid couldn't even sleep in fear of being subjected to them while she couldn't fall asleep. "Maybe we should make a night owl club or something." She ended with a yawn and half a laugh. Bunch of insomniacs sitting in a circle, sharing feelings and watching terrible shows at three in the morning. Great. Carleigh raised an eyebrow, turning to Oriel. "What movie is this again?" She didn't recognize it.
Carleigh enjoyed the minute of silence between conversations. It wasn't uncomfortable or awkward; just... there. Her mind hazily whirled, coming to life after the caffeine consumption. She reached for her mug, drinking the rest hastily.
"Oh, that's pretty recent." Carleigh frowned. The kid seemed a bit older than her, maybe a year. Maybe they were the same age. "Yeah... spring of 2010 was when I arrived. Few months before my thirteenth." According to certain officials, Carleigh had manifested at an average time, a bit earlier than most boys but right on time for the average girl. The officials also determined that her insomnia would probably go away on its own in her early to mid twenties, when the ability would also slow down and possibly hibernate. Medication, therapy.. she had tried everything. The only thing Carleigh could do was ride out the storm.
She giggled, shrugging. "Yeah.. I could do that." It would be funny to see her make a student act like a chicken. "There's limits, of course, and time restraints. So, it's pretty hard and limited." Carleigh grimaced. His power didn't sound all that fun. Plus, Oriel didn't even want to be here. Trapped, with a relatively minor power? That was bad luck. Biting her tongue, Carleigh nodded and laughed again. "Guess we both kind of drew the short sticks in the power department huh?" Hers would be cool, if it weren't subliminal.
