"Nobody knooooows, the troubles I've seeen. Noooobody knows myyy sorrowww," wailed a drunken Ashton Harper. The people around him all rolled their eyes and covered their ears. As if he wasn't already a bad singer, add being wasted to that and his tone-deafness really got out of hand. But he simply didn't care, he was partying it up! Okay, not really, he was alone, drinking like a fish. He didn't have a date, no friends with him to laugh and joke with. He was officially one of those guys. The lame ones that tried to be the life of the party, but really just made fools of themselves.
Ashton hadn't been much of a partier back in his teenage days. He didn't go out with his friends, he just kind of sat around, playing videogames and reading comic books. It wasn't anything like what normal teenagers did. He didn't have people to go out and party with anyway. Not even now because his friends were the responsible, boring adults now. Maybe if Flynn wasn't underaged, he'd have dragged his cousin out with him. But there was the problem of his family finding out and going ape shit on him. That wasn't in his plans.
The bartender came over to the power supressor and placed a glass of water and bowl of peanuts in front of him. "Eat," he ordered before walking away.
Ashton snorted and waved a hand dismissively, he didn't want to eat and he didn't want water. He wanted booze! He wanted something interesting to happen because his life was literally the most boring thing anyone could ever imagine. Weren't metas supposed to be bad ass? With bad ass lives? Well, that's how they'd always been portrayed in movies and stuff. He knew it wasn't really like that, but he wanted something exciting to happen to him. For once.
Something spontaneous.
