Ray took his good hand and bopped himself on the forehead. “Ah, of course!” He laughed, “Well at least you guys got the good planet, I can imagine why we migrated from Mars but Venus?” He shrugged and gave her a mock judging look, it was definitely easy to tell why they had left Venus as well, with the exacerbated Greenhouse effect and all. With that determined Ray turned back to their handiwork. He was excited, but then he was always excited. It was almost a state of being for Raylaigh, it didn’t take a whole lot to get him enthusiastic about something. Often times he was wound like a toy, all that needed to happen as for him to be pointed in the right direction.
“Pshhh, what?” Raylaigh drawled waving his hand dismissively. He grinned at her like a loon sure that even if he were innocent that the amount he was smiling would give himself away. He narrowed his gaze teasingly at Alex. “I can’t imagine what gave you that impression,” he gave her wide eyes, “I mean I was just here minding my own business.” He shrugged and tossed his head around the room dismissing himself as a culprit in his own mind. It was a good thing she took the initiative to lead him away before he actually gave them away with his nerves. Besides, there were meta human staff members it was only a matter of time before one of the ones with a power that would make them stand out like sore thumbs came around.
He grinned back at her and giggled. “Who’s suspicious, I’m not suspicious.” He said in mock defense of himself, though she was absolutely right. “I don’t know if I can handle the stress, my poor heart, I don’t know how you do it.” He grinned at her and at least in the light it was easier to see, but he kinda would stand out without his shoes. “I wonder what’ll happen if they find my shoes…” He mused aloud. Rounding the corner he watches as a few people scurried about, clearly some people were also making very good use of the fact that they’d cut the lights. Raylaigh’s head followed a pair that were clearly up to no good. What else had happened when the lights went out? At least this was temporary and not like that long time when the power was out. Now that was scary.
He did a double take at her and cocked his head. “Why wouldn’t they be?” He asked confused. They’d fixed his wrists hundreds of times. Well, not quite that many but it felt like it and the nurses were very good and very prepared for that. He hadn’t even stopped to think about what would happen to the nurse’s station if the power went out. He simply shrugged and smiled innocently at the nurse as she looked at him as if hoping he wasn’t actually broken, he was sorry to tell her that that was exactly why he was here. He waved back at Alex and followed after the nurse. They didn’t even pause to ask what happened and they barely paused to get his vitals before they asked where it hurt and put that part in the x-ray machine.
