Getting Jazzy [Madison]

Alright. That was it. He couldn't deal anymore.

It definitely hadn't been too long, although Gryphon had lost count of the days, but broken wrist or not, he needed to do something, anything! It'd been fine at first, although he'd been a bit frustrated since he wasn't allowed to dance because of his dancing. Why did he even attempt that fucking handstand in the first place - ugh! But yeah, fine at first. And then he became a tad restless. He wasn't the type to go running to vent frustration, so that was out of the question. And the more he attempted flying, the more extreme he wanted to go; faster, higher, further... he kept driving himself to the point of practical exhaustion mid-flight. And that was dangerous as hell. So for the last week, he had grounded himself, and he hadn't been dancing.

He was more than twitchy.

That was why he was in the auditorium, chairs pushed away. He needed to do something to get him moving! He hit play on the music player he had out, not actually caring at all if anyone came and saw him. Of course, he still had his sling around him, arm resting inside, and he couldn't really just use one arm successfully, so he was just gonna move his legs. He wore baggy clothing, and the top had some long slits cut in the back, which his wings poked out of, not fully spread, but getting out like they needed to.

The dance was... pretty cool. And this was probably a good idea - he relied on his arms way too much as it was.

Madison decided to go practices her dance moves to burn some energy. She had been eating non stop candy and was currently on a very crazy sugar rush. She hurried up and got dress in her usually dancing attire, a muscle shirt, jogging pant, and sneakers, and ran to the auditorium. She stopped right outside though as she heard music being played. Their always seemed to be someone in the auditorium when Madison had the urge to practices it seemed like. She was starting to think maybe she need a new place to practices because it seem like this was a very popular spot. For now though she would just see who was in there and how long said person was going to take she decided.

She quietly hummed the song as she made her way in the room adjusting her sportbag on her shoulder as she did so. She looked to see a boy with a cast, who looked somewhat familiar to her, dancing to the song. She studied the moves he was doing in admiration tapping her feet to the beat. Madison quickly grabbed her digital camera out of her bag and snapped a picture of the boy in mid-move. "Cool moves Mcjagger" she complimented with a smile. "I mean I could totally do better but it was good" she teased playfully. "An wow doing it with a cast show dedication" she noted talking fast. "Did you make it up yourself? Oh i'm sorry i'm being rude". She stuck out her hand. "I'm Madison but some people call me Maddie for short. Well that or my dad calls me mad-hatter because i'm always wearing hats. It's nice to meet you". She took a munch needed breath. "I'm sorry am I talking to fast? I had a bit to much candy and i'm a little hyper".

For once, Gryphon didn't have to think about his school work or his current situation or the people knew. He could just solely concentrate on his movements and making sure he got them just so. And it took up every breathing thought.

So when the blonde girl came into the room, he was oblivious. Well, he noticed that someone was now there, but she may as well not have been, from how Gryph was reacting. But he knew better than to be mean by ignoring her. Once the chorus of the song ended, the winged boy looked at her, smiling a little at the compliment. And... was that - had she taken a picture? ...awesome. "Thanks."

Her mouth was going a millions miles a minute, poor Gryphon could barely keep up. He laughed at first, and then smiled proudly, and then began to chuckle a bit again. "Just a little hyper?" He whistled, "I'd hate t'see you when you're really hyper then." He grinned jokingly, this girl was a little mental.

"And, in reply, if my memory serves me," he began, trying to remember all that she had said, "You already seem pretty mad, so I'll stick with Maddie." He took up her hand and shook it, "I'm Gryphon, but you can call me Gryph, if you want. I don't mind." He let go of her, "I did make it up myself... with some help from some others." He'd asked some of the people from.the dance team for help. He liked to get a second opinion on things. "An' I broke my wrist by dancing, so... seems logical. And," the winged boy sent her a teasingly challenging look,

"I'd like t'see you try."

She chuckled at this joke. "I'm starting to understand why my parents never let me have to much sugar. I might just be a sugarholic though because I have been eating so much sense I have been here. Like I have no self-control when it comes to this stuff. It's a good thing I dance so I can burn it all off".

"Gryphon is a very unique name. I have to say I never heard it but I do like it". She picked up her camera after the handshake and took one more picture. "I always take pictures of people when I first meet them" she explain to him because she knew the question was coming. "Never know when it's will be a memorable moment". She raised her eyebrows. "An you broke it by dancing a your still doing it? Well I understand I guess. I think I would do the same. Which means you must really love to dance".

"Challenge acquired and accepted " she said with a nod. She put down her bag and did her best sassy walk on to the stage. She looked at him very serious for a moment and then suddenly broke out in the running-man. She followed it up with the cabagepack but after a minute could not handle it and started to laugh. "O.M.G i'm just playing. Ok this time for real". As the music started Madison did her best to remember the moves. An though she forgot a few steps Madison believed she did good for the first time doing it. She gave him a hair flip and smirked when she was done. "Tried and succeed" she joked.

Gryph had the same problem to do with self control, but it was of a more specific food - ice cream. He didn't know what the fuck it was but he couldn't get enough of it! He had to force himself not to buy tubs of the stuff because he would literally just live off of it. Of course, like Maddie had mentioned herself, he had his dancing to keep him from becoming a marshmallow, but... it was bad enough already, he didn't need to give himself any fair reasons to be able to regularly buy and consume the stuff otherwise he'd never stop.

He nodded, "Know what you mean."

The winged boy got that a lot - that his name was different/unique/cool. Of course, he didn't mind. It was nice to know that people liked your name, if anything. "Thanks!" Madison wasn't the most uncommon name, but, "I like your name too - Madison's very cute." He smiled warmly.

The camera was in his face again and he attempted not to grimace horrifically. That was... a little weird, but you never knew. I mean, Gryph liked photography, but that didn't mean he'd snap pics of anything on two legs. Each to their own. And her reason was fair - he nodded.

"More than anything." 13 straight years of rehearsals and practise and pain and struggle, and it was all worth it in the end... thank God. But she liked dancing, as well? That was awesome - meeting someone with the same hobbies as him. And so nice too - Gryph liked Maddie already.

Gryphon raised his eyebrows and smirked at the girl's confidence, "Bring it." He stated challengingly. And then... he didn't know whether to take her seriously or not. All the same, he began to smile, then snigger, then chuckle, then laugh rather loudly. No one could keep themselves from reacting to that... monstrosity.

Okay, okay, this time. Gryph watched attentively, his eye for detail and structure itching, wanting to smooth out this and straighten that, but he held himself back. Besides, this girl was good. He applauded, smiling - choreography was hard to remember and while yes, it was far from perfect, Maddie's dancing was not half ass. "Nice job, curls. " he teased. He was tempted to ask if she wanted a dancing partner or a tutor or soemerhing, but... maybe later?

"You do? I think it's a very common name for a weird person like me but thanks"!

Madison bowed playfully when he clapped. "Thank you thank you. I'm here for till graduation" she said in her best celebrity voice. "Who knows maybe someday you will be lucky enough to share a stage with me. An I usually don't do this but for you I could totally autograph your cast". She covered her mouth to keep the giggles from escaping.

"Anyway all jokes aside how long have you been dancing Mr Gryph"?

"Just 'cause it might be common doesn't stop it from bein' a pretty name." He replied, smiling. It was true.

Gryph chuckled at Maddie's playfulness, 'for 'til graduation' seemed, for her, to still be a couple years away. For Gryphon, it was just a few months. "Wouldn't that be an honour?" he joked, although, he wouldn't mind having a new dancing buddy (in all seriousness), and Madison definitely wasn't half bad at it. "And I'd be very happy for you t'sign my cast - I'd treasure it forever." Gryph was having difficulty suppressing his own mirth - Maddie was definitely not alone on that front.

Mr. Gryph? His dimple poked into his face, smile widening at the silly nickname-y kind of thing, "Too long." That could never be true - eternity wasn't long enough to be dancing. "But seriously, I'd say 13-ish years." He grinned still, "Time well spent." He cocked his head curiously, "Yourself?" He remembered her camera, "And what about your pictures? Been doin' photography for long?"

She looked at him and smiled. "You play along with my weirdness I like you" she declared. "We are going to be good friends". 

Madison eye's lit up as it always did when she talked about photography or dancing. " First aw you have dimples. That's to cute. Second I've been dancing sense I could walk. I swear my first words probably was and  a five , six , seven , eight" she joked snapping. "I love all kinds of dancing but my favorite styles have to be hip-hop, ballet, and swing. I only have a little professional training though since i never stay in one place for to long to get it. Maybe you could teach me a thing or two sometime. Oh an my mom is a artist so I've always been into like photography and stuff. I love capturing the beauty in things that other's often miss. That's what I aim to do with my art. Capture either a moment, beauty, or a story".

Gryphon smiled back, practically glowing, "I think so too." She had done a good job of getting him out of his mood, with the aid of dancing as well.

The winged boy's own enthusiasm for his hobbies were reflected in Maddie's expression and it was something that made him more than happy. And the dimple comment helped. He laughed at her joke, and listened to her mini ramble about dancing. Gryph didn't want to go into his first reasons for dancing - they weren't as... passion based. Now they were, but before... was another story. And the idea of him teaching her... maybe. It wasn't a bad idea by any means, though. "I really like them all as well! And I'm not just tryin' t'cop out've sayin' somethin' different, it's the truth." He replied; he liked to combine his traditional and modern dancing abilities to make his choreography truly awesome.

"That's pretty poetic." ...what? It was! But it was a very good motive to have - one of preservation. "But it's the same with me. Every picture I take has a meaning, a story." He couldn't remember if he'd mentioned the fact that he was a photographer as well or anything... which was strange for him, usually his memory served him very well. Oh well. "Otherwise, what's the point?"

"Exactly you get it" she said excitedly jumping up and down. "An you take picture to? This is awesome you're like the older male me. I hope you know you don't have a choice in being my friend. Now come on Gryph". She grabbed his hand and lead him to the stage. "Teach me a thing or two because I have to admit you are slightly better than me. Only slightly though".

Maddie's energy was ridiculously infectious - Gryphon was generally quite an optimistic person, and it was hard to catch him not smiling, but he was just continuously doing so here. He laughed at her decision that he was practically her, minus the age and gender differences - he could beg to differ. For example, he was pretty certain he had never spoken as fast as she was in all of his life.

But now he was being pulled onto the stage, okay. He looked down at his sling and sighed in annoyance - not at Maddie, at his own problem. "I can try. But don't expect any arm work." He said, lifting his broken wrist for a second as he said that. This was probably the exact spot he had been in when he broke it in the first place... ugh. Back to that feeling.

When it came to showing her something, however, he came up blank, and frowned slightly, "...what d'you wanna see?"

"Oh right your arms is broken" she said. She had forgot that fast his arm was in a sling. She wonder for a second how he broke it. "How long to you think your arm heals"?

Madison thought for a second bouncing on the tip of her feet. "Hm, well since your arms broke you might as well show me your best foot work. That or we can do the cupid shuffle. It doesn't require much hand work".
